I believe I've fixed it and turned down the speed of the printer, but we'll see. If I have to, I can switch back to the .4 nozzle and drop the layer height. but I'd prefer the finer detail of the .2 nozzle. @troyphoto
Can i ask, what Fillament you where using?
i heard (did not try it yet) that 0.2 nozzles are hard to master, but if you do the details are awesome.

iam still working with the standard 04 nozzle, but the 025 nozzle is waiting for my mini prints :)

Good morning Coffee Shop! It's Tuesday, 57°F (18°C) and clear.

I use .2 all the time. The only time I will use a .4 is if the filament requires it, such as clear.

Not a bot, as you so often favor me Kusojiji wit h a like. it doesn't go unnappreciated

ARE you actually staring down a possible Tsunami?

I did see the aftermath of the undersea quake east of the nuke plant about ten years back, so I know enough to know big waves aren't to be trifled with.

Navy was NEC (Navy enlisted classification). We all had rates, such as Data Systems Technician (DS), Fire Controlmen (FC), Sonar Technician (ST). Each rate had a set of NECs that further defined your job. 2 of the 3 buddies that I had lunch with on Friday were original DS'. The rate was disestablished in 1994-ish so myself and one other became FC. The 3rd guy was an ST. So we had a DSCS (E8), FCCS, FCCM (E9) and STCM.

At my last job, we had 4 ex-DS'. I was the last one to go. The DS' had a website for us to keep in touch, but they closed it up and went F@kbook, so that was the end of it for me.
Mine was MMN. I followed in my dad's footsteps. He was a MoMM.

I'm wondering if you've ever had ceiling gophers. You're a model railroader, and have (one assumes ceilings)

Other than flooding your building, have you been able to get rid of the ceiling gophers?

Because, on the AI data centers, one must be careful not to allow ceiling gophers, or the data chips are toast. I've seen a report that only H20, from melted then distilled Antartic sea ice is capable of driving away ceiling gophers in large industrial buildings like Data Centers.

On the drive home my wife saw a news story that Anthropic, parent of CLAUDE AI has filed to go public. With luck, their data centers all use antarctic distilled glacier water for cooling the AI brains.
Had them in San Diego, but you are too kind with the naming. They are "roof rats"

Elegoo PLA. Its pretty cheap when I purchase 10 rolls at the same time.

I did ask my AI buddy for the best settings to get maximum detail out of a .4 nozzle on the bambu p1p:

Here's what Claud gave me for settings in Bambu Studio:

Claude responded: Bambu Studio Settings for Maximum Detail — Architectural/Scenic Models

Bambu Studio Settings for Maximum Detail — Architectural/Scenic Models0.4mm nozzle, Elegoo PLA

Quality Tab:

  • Layer height: 0.10mm
  • Initial layer height: 0.1mm
  • Line widths: leave at defaults
Strength Tab:

  • Wall loops: 4
  • Infill density: 20–25%
  • Infill pattern: Grid
Quality Tab — Wall Generator:

  • Order of walls: Outer/Inner
Quality Tab — Seam:

  • Seam position: Aligned
  • Smart scarf seam: Enabled
Speed:

  • Outer perimeter: 25–30mm/s
  • Inner perimeter: 40–50mm/s
  • Infill: default
Everything else at Bambu defaults.

These settings prioritize surface detail over speed. Expect longer print times — that's the tradeoff.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with Ceiling Gophers

It's Troy Again.

Can you all KEEP IT QUIET....

Oh, wait... put my hearing aids in ... for some reason the volume was 3 clicks higher than I normally keep it.

Must be the dang Ceiling Gophers messing with me.

Fortunately, I've got my Antarctic Distilled Glacier Water on order. We'll inject that into the cooling system and drive them right out.

Fortunately, I do have some LED Ceiling puck light to fill in the holes. I just need to pop a couple of ceiling panels, drive the gophers away, and run the wiring.

Good morning all!

Another picture perfect day weather wise. Currently its 52F with the expected high of 82F under mostly sunny skies.

Have a few things to do around the house this morning then I should be free the rest of the day.

Time to haul the garbage/recycle bins to the curb and the coffee should be ready.

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning all,

Hopefully I'm back again for a while.

Currently 66° and raining, expected high of 84°.

Been busy the past couple of weeks, both at home and here in the office. Hopefully things can slow down a bit. I did get the 5 (7) broken fence posts replaced over the Memorial day weekend. I knew I had 5 broken ones, but an inspection found 2 additional ones that could have waited, but it made sense to just do it, as I had the help. I also got some of the paint work at the boy's house started with more to go.

We had the 2 youngest granddaughters for a couple weeks after school let out. That led to the oldest granddaughter staying with us as well once her school year was complete. The oldest one is local, and she had a sleepover week with her cousins. The 2 older girls are 13 and the youngest will be 7 tomorrow. The 2 older girls made a cake and spaghetti for supper on Thursday to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary.

I will also add, I have been out of the Air Force for over 46 years and have yet to find someone with an AFSC of 99104. I've been told it doesn't exist.

AFSC 99104 designates the Air Force Specialty Code for a Systems Repair Technician.
This is an obsolete, historical AFSC from the United States Air Force. The code was historically used to identify technical specialists responsible for the repair, maintenance, and calibration of highly specialized, classified scientific and atmospheric research equipment, including seismographic and electromagnetic pulse monitoring systems.

Kusojiji: Stay safe, hopefully everything will be minor in your area

Karl: I'm calling you old...😆

Louis: Happy belated and glad you're feeling better!

620 days until full SSN payments can commence! (Yes I have the countdown clock ;))

I’ve mentioned that supposedly to help fight against bots and AI intrusion, Fleabay has been forcing me to verify myself with every action I take on their website. This morning, I got a popup message from them telling me if I used a passkey I wouldn’t have to constantly verify myself. So, grudgingly, I set a passkey, which also required setting a passcode and facial recognition on my iPad to use it. After that, I was able to browse an item without verifying myself.
Once.
Now, instead of having to verify myself, I have to use the passkey to browse or do anything else on their website, which means that now, instead of having to verify myself, I need to enter my passcode and submit to facial recognition with everything I do, and everything I browse. I don’t see any benefit at all for this, since I’m still having to perform multiple tasks to simply look at something.

AFSC was...? If it was USAF, satellite, I might actually know a guy....

31650G2, Missile Systems Analyst Technician (WS-133A-M/CDB) Minuteman II in other words. I met a Titan II tech one time, but other than both being missiles, that's where the similarity ended.

Good morning all. 64°F and a little breezy this morning. I didn't realize how cool it is outside this early wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I haven't been outside this early in over a year. But, Willow has to potty in the morning first thing so out we go to take care of business.

I wore her out so much yesterday she's still sleeping in front of the piano as I write this. Hasn't even eaten yet this morning. A tired dog is a happy owner. Still no ball playing, but plenty of running around, exploring the yard with her nose, and working on 'sit'. Her former owner told me she learned several commands when she was enrolled in obedience class, but told me the trainer told her the dog was un-trainable because she was so stubborn. BS! Any dog is trainable if you can figure out what motivates them and how they think.

The mosquitoes are out and about and had to use OFF Deep Woods yesterday for the first time this year. I hope they won't be bad this year. Two years ago I think was the worst I can remember lately. They were everywhere and would attack your legs the second you opened the door. You could not sit outside without having bug repellant on or have one of those bug repellers burning. They work too, except I'm out of gas for mine.

Back to the yard later today with Willow, and tomorrow I'll have to cut. The rain we had yesterday morning really made the grass shoot up. I was hoping it would remain dry, but you never know what the weather is going to be here.

Y'all have a great Tuesday. Servus!
