While I have not tried it, Longhorns produce milk with a high butterfat content of 6%, supposedly tastes sweeter than standard cow's milk and excellent for making cheese. As for trying it, I am not aware of any commercially available Longhorn milk. As for milking them yourself, they are extremely docile animals, but you gotta watch the horns. They might turn their heads and accidentally knock you over.

I assume that is what "Longhorn Cheddar" is from. It was always good. My dad liked it IIRC so my mom would get it.

For the milk drinkers, I remember reading some where that your body needs the milkfat to properly digest and use the other mikl components (proteins etc). So your body actually stresses more with the skim milk and 1% etc. type milks. Unfortunately it was many years ago so I don't have a link nor do I know the actual truth of it. But we only bought whole milk after that. Now that my son is gone (in Japan) and we don't buy as much milk now we buy the A2 protein milk (ours is from Costco but I've seen it in other stores). Supposedly milk from cows that produce A2 protein milk is better for you...

I don't drink milk that much any more but a cold glass with the right side companion (brownie or cookie or whatever) and also great for the rare occasion of eating cereal or whatever.

good morning everyone

- today in Home Office but i guess airport is doing fine
- around 17 celcius
- sun is coming out but there are some clouds
- around 10am (CEST)

today iam in home office. why? Because i got a message that a DHL delivery should show up today! That means, my laser (for World domination) should be delivered today woohoo.

wish you all a great start for this weekend!

I know your 6 or so hours ahead of us time wise AemJaY1 but I'm up earlier than normal because my classmates from NC are in town and we have an early golf tee time. I was actually adding on to my layout when my wife went into to the nursing home but when I realized she would never be coming home again that the layout would have to be dismantled. I would be running the house on one salary and the taxes in NY are so high I would have to move. Everything in NY cost more. Then to top that off we invite everyone in the world here and give them everything free. It's time to leave. I must have at least 50 wire terminals. What am I going to do with all this stuff. I guess I have to find a upcoming train show and buy a table. I have at least 30 structures stores, water towers, company's and bridges that have to get packed up.

Not feeling well lately one of the dumbest things I did was get those Covid19 shots. A few of my golf friends got Covid19 and were mildly sick for a for 3 days and that was it. I only listen to the government on this because my wife was sick at the time. I haven't felt good since I got the shots. Just dumb of me to listen to any government official.

Oh my!

1/700?

Did you print those?

How do you paint something that small? They look great to me as I say to myself, you have enough trains Tom, you have enough…
For comparison, here they are behind some 1:56 scale dwarven Xbowmen

The toughest part of painting was getting the brush in between the two masts to paint the faction crest of the compass rose.

Deck cannons were a .05 brush of Vallejo Oily Steel Model Color on each side. It's dark enough to look like a wet black cannon that way. The metal bows were speed paint (army painter) gold on top of Vallejo Game Color gold. Then drybrush Vallejo gold on top.

I tried using the Army Painter Speed Paint Ultra White on the sails. Bad idea. Any speed-paint white is just an under-saturated grey.

The goai is to make fine details stand out with a bit of contrast, not high-detail painting.

OK gang, I'm looking for ideas!

I've got several brass locos that need to be stripped of old paint and refinished. I've got one that has been soaking in a 95% alcohol solution and so far after a week the paint is soft, but not lifting. My next thought is lacquer thinner bath, but where would I get a suitable resealable container. Something bigger than a 1 gallon paint can, yet smaller than a 5 gallon metal bucket.

any ideas??

BTW, The parts I am stripping have zero plastic parts

Something like this?

Something like this?

I use something similar for alcohol baths but lacquer will eat that container alive, turning it into mush.
