OK -- BOB had a close friends pass away (I'll see if I can find the notice again), so I would gather that nothing will be said until maybe tomorrow?

Very sad to hear of Harold's passing. He is by far one of my favorite people in the industry. Will miss his signature Red Polkadotted cap. Below is a segment out of our series where he was in back in 2008. Bob, feel free to share if you like.

Good evening. 58° and clear. yesterday's rain yielded near a ½", the most in several weeks. Supposed to have more rain tomorrow.

Very good visit at the Pulmonary Doctors this morning. Lungs clear, good results on the lung function test.

Tomorrow is the last day of Cardiac Rehab. I intend to follow up with a regular exercise program. My weight this morning was 146.6 lbs, the lightest since I started high school. Need smaller sized jeans and pants.

Spent too much time on my arse this afternoon. Gotta keep moving. Layout is calling.

Guy: I enjoy your posts, especially your photos of trains. The CN is an interesting property. (Same with CP). Our late friend Garry, worked for the Grand Trunk Western, a US operation of the CN. Because they haul Pulp, paper, pyrite ore and soda ash, CN is well represented on my layout.

Looks like Vegas is going to win the Stanley Cup 6-1 lead over Florida in the 3rd... Baltimore O's 11 - Toronto 6, Final. Mets losing to Yankees 7 -6, bottom of the 9th.

CSX through Pennington, NJ on the former Reading.

My condolences to Bob, as well Harold's family and friends.

This wasn't information I was aware of, Knowing the reason for the delay now, I'm happy to return to the coffee shop of old. My project thread will remain on hiatus until the mess of the Edict is cleaned up.

What happened earlier to dumbarsed Troy?

Welp... Saturday was the look-in-the-coffee carafe day... and what I observed wasn't good.

Every morning I use the stainless steel pot to take my coffee down into the writing/hobby cave. Coffee gets burned sitting in a glass carafe on a warmer plate. The thermal pot keeps it drinkable for several hours..

But, it gets a hard patina after a few weeks. Every 6 weeks or so (this time was a "or so" length of time) I use a 1/4 cup of baking soda and a tea kettle full of very, very hot water. Let soak, and a lot of the black nasty patina flakes off. Normally have to do this two or three times and the inside of the stainless steel pot is shiny!

Troy forgot that really hot water and baking soda gas off... shut the lid, hand on top and bottom, start to give it a swirl... and BAM! the gas buildup force the lid up and I get scalding salt water on my right/write wrist.

Only a first-degree burn, but it smarts.

And I'm on my 6th kettle full of water and b-soda... I gotta remember to clean the carafe more often.

And wear long sleeves when I do...

Despite my injury (mostly to my pride), I soldiered on, complaining like a PFC on latrine duty. ;) And managed to get more foam laid on the lower level of the layout. I need to cut a hole in the backdrop's back corner to let cars from the yard (off camera - left side behind backdrop) back into the scene where they will begin the ascent to the level where I plan to begin the helix.

For now, here's a shot of my Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar box of cans collection. Or the foam on the layout as of Saturday:

It may be safer to drink the pepper. 😂

Morning from the WEST where it is 59f and we (I am) are hoping for a 74f high under a partly cloudy sky. Last several days was pretty (mostly) rainey looking but nothing really happened except a little mist.

FLO, I realize that the crowd has been slow the past few days? I hope things will return to our former thread where (I thought) most everyone was happy. In the meantime, please ask MEL for a garbage omelet with WW toast and a diet DP to drink.
If that doesn't work - then I will accept whatever he has on hand.

Still awaiting to hear from the higher ups - nothing at this time to report - so PLEASE PLAY NICE! LOL
Know I should put up a train related subject - maybe later?

I am still in morning over the loss of my two playmates within two weeks time. We were on an RV trip in the desert when this was taken a couple years back.

Sherrel: It is amazing what animals do to us. We lost Muffin about a week ago. She had only been with us 8ish Months and when I backhoe'd a grave for her I still shed a few tears. We kinda expected something like this as she was not all that healthy when we got her. After we got rid of the worms and ear mites, she was growing and doing better. Then along came Bob and got her pregnant . We were told that Bob was fixed, but Noooo. She looked to mis-carry and went down hill from that. Just could not keep up with her body. Found her on the bathroom floor all stretched out eyes closed. So we do not think she was in any pain. Thing was, about 2 hours before I got up for my normal 0300 pee and was able to give her a quick pet. Purred and meowed.

Buried her out by the Train Cave as she liked curling up on the deck.

TODD - Thanks. I had the yellow one for 17+ years and knew that she was failing pretty fast at the end and when she had to be helped to stand up and go out (wobbly) to pee. Lost appetite as well.
We had a couple come to the house for euthanasia -- Even with all that, it was really hard to let her go.

The little one was only 8+ years - youngest daughter found him on the side of the road. I should have named him Bullet; he was like a ping pong ball - everywhere he went was at full throttle!
He started labored breathing, not eating nor drinking; I took him to the vet and did not bring him home.
After test and x-rays was determined that he was consumed with cancer. VET did not want me to even bring him home - that really was a shock!

Sorry to bend your ear so much. That is a very pretty pic of the puss there - and a very pretty kitty!
I had several - well two kitties growing up - mom did not want a dog in the house.
I have had 1 to 3 pups all me adult life. Still have one as we speak, but I don't quite have the closest connection to her as the two deceased - YET.

Sherrel: Don't worry about the 'ear bending' as that helps us get over things and move on. The memories are still there and pretty much front and center. This cat had a foot fetish. If I dropped my shoes on the floor to switch from slippers, she would be all over my feet checking stuff out. In to the shoes, then in to the slippers when I switched. Lay on top of my feet when only socks on were on them. She could hear this even when she was outside and would come a'running. She would only do this routine with me for reasons unknown; left everybody else in the house alone!
