Good evening. I'm near the end of day two of what we think is a case of food poisoning. Yesterday was the upper digestive thing, today is the lower. Without going into any gory details, I'm into roll three of toilet paper. I was in bed almost all day and night yesterday. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

All this talk about drinks and food, so here's one to gladen the heart:
A Brit, a Scott and an Irish are sitting in the pub. Each one has a mug of beer in front. It just so happened that a fly fell into every mug. British guy is disgusted, pushes the mug away murmuring: rubbish. Scott takes the fly out of his mug and proceeds to sip his beer. Irish grabs the fly by the wings, holds it over the mug and screams: Spit it out! Spit it out you bastard!!

Welp... my apple watch told me that the Weather Bug app was lying. Did some digging. Looks like Weather Channel is pulling data from In Dept of Enviromental Management, and NOAA about 30 miles away. Supposed to be like this tomorrow too.

Guess I'll be using the dreaded Machine To Nowhere to get my steps in.

Well, it looks like the NWS is maintaining their stellar record for the year. They removed the rain from the forecast for today sometime Tuesday morning, and guess what. I just went out to water a tree and my clothes are now spotted with water from the skies. Damn, I just topped off the pool water earlier today!

Good evening gang!

Played Hookey today, been fighting a headache since Sunday night, so I decided to go see the Doc today. yes, another sinus infection that has spread to my ears. He wants me to get drains put in my ears, like my kids did when they were toddlers. Nope.
For fast food:

Best Breakfast sandwich - Burger King sausage, egg and cheese croisanwich
Nope, BK sausage egg and cheese biscuit! the crossanwiches are too greasy
Best Burger - Rally's slightly edges out Burger King. No IN & Out here. Culver's is good, but there's like one restaurant in a 50-mile radius.
5 guys, damn the torpedoes'!
Best Fries - Wendy's
Mickey D's
Best Sandwich - Arby's Regular Roast Beef
OK, with lots of sauce
Best drunken snarf at 1:00AM - Taco Bell
Agreed
Best Lunch - Skyline Chili, but only if its lathered in hot sauce, lol. And it's a regional thing. Texans hate it becasue they call it Chili. It's not chili, but I don't care.. it is the nectar of the gods.
I am partial to a double meat Subway BMT with chips and a cold diet Coke

Smoke in the air, yes it's hazy down here in central Absurdistan. Being an hour from D.C. I figured all the hot air was drawing it.

Trains. Playing hookey has its advantages. All the subroadbed has been laid for the mainline on the peninsula, and I built a 70' plate girder bridge for installation on the other side of the layout. I did have to deviate from my original plan a bit, as I originally drew this loop with a 30 inch radius, but had to tighten it up to 26 inch. Hopefully my big steamers wont look too wonky on it. Especially my 2-6-6-2 C&O.

Personally I think the walking machine that goes nowhere should be banned

Good afternoon. I thought you guys were writing that Guy’s fires were smoking out NYC. I did not know Quebec is burning!

The wife has banned me from posting her in pictures without her review 1st. I was threatened with the ultimate wife threat. I will listen…

The urge for some retail train buying therapy is starting to return, I believe I can resist.

I hope you are feeling better. Drink lots of fluids. Some Gatorade or something like that would be good. I wish I could bring you some, but the drive is a bit far.
It did not go above 71° all day. I did run the Air twice, to filter and move the air, but because of the temperature, and lack of warming sunlight, it didn't stay on long either time. No open windows today... 👎👎
I checked the air quality; 103. I should have closed the windows sooner.

I hope you feel better. I assume they gave you antibiotics.
The roadbed looks fantastic!

The current map of the situation... (I covered up the ad with a fun pic)
Though the link I clicked to get here on Weatherbug showed current was 42 and "fair" ish.... I really doubt Weatherbugs's numbers... but NE Indiana doesn't have a lot of AQ meters.

The projection for later today... my lungs still ache from being out yesterday evening. And we're not getting the full brunt like the East Coast of the US is.

I'll be inside today, air filters running, and the 2-stage furnace fan running on the low stage to keep the inside air moving.

Good morning. It sure is foggy outside this morning. Oh wait, silly me, fog doesn’t smell like burnt wood.
I never thought that a forest fire in Canada would complicate my breathing. I hope this clears up soon. My asthma does not like this.
