It might help if New York City didn't suck!;):eek:o_O
I had to laugh at your comment, even though the smoke is quite strong here right now. 71° They have changed the forecast to say SMOKE, instead of Haze. Guess they can't pretend any longer. The breeze from the West, is bringing the smoke from the fire in the adjacent town. The NY media almost completely ignores these fires, concentrating on the multiple fires in the Frozen North. NYC smoke is extra special, possibly because it mixes with the hot air from the politicians and activists. ;)

Ain't any better here, George. I also hope they are put out soon.

Looks like a triple mainline with the loco in the middle, pulling flat cars on each outer track, with 3 5-lb weights on them. The paperclips look like they would be pulling the front truck toward the center, but the weight is helping the wheel flanges do their job.
I was looking for paperclips on the front truck of the locomotive. That explains why I didn't see them.

Afternoon All,

Started out today with a walk at 72F and currently 89F and humid. I started out with chores then after lunch we went to Lowes and found what we wanted for the 4-bathroom sinks and faucets (2 sets in master bath). Note to self: It's only money and Happy wife happy life. I'm still waiting on my Super Tree delivery. Tomorrow I'm heading up to Jon's for a visit.

Patrick- Sorry for the loss of your family member.

Troy- Now you're just showing off with the meat!;)

Louis- Wonderful family photo. I hope you are feeling better.

Smudge- Not what I expected. I thought brown sauce was like our brown gravy.

Tony- I looked up what a Tim Tam is, and it looks right up my alley.

Todd- Good luck with the upgrade.

TomO- Cool photos.

Joe- Awesome photo. I love the tank car.

I hope everyone has a good day.

In and Out Burgers, Chad you are fortunate if your local place is that good. I have had them in Austin, LA and San Diego and IMO while they are much better than the major fast service chains, they are almost on par with the ever expanding Wisconsin based Culvers. I agree about 5 Guys, very good but not worth the expenditure. I can’t remember the last fast service hamburger purchase (McDonalds, BK or Wendy’s)

There are definitely better burgers but not for the money, in my book. We have a Culvers about 2-3 miles from my house. I like the Butter Burger but I'd choose In-N-Out for a cheap burger most of the time. I like to vary it and we do hit up Culvers once in a while. There is also one close to where my daughter has music lessons and band practice down in Orem so we sometimes (more often in the past than now) would stop there. Great place. I do have to say something heretical: A&W has better cheese curds than Culvers. Culvers has good curds and we always get them but everyone in the family likes the A&W ones better. Around here the A&W is paired with a KFC so you can order from both menus. Their burgers are ok -- nothing to write home about -- but their curds are awesome (for fast food curds).

Interestingly, a local custard shop and diner built about 1/3 mile away from Culvers. Called Nielsens. Local chain with a half dozen places here and in Las Vegas. My son and I tried it and their burger was also very good and reasonably priced. I had their pastrami burger.

For me personally, if I go to one of the top 3 low end fast food places (McD, BK, Wendy's) I'll take Wendy's. For cheap burgers they do ok.

Actually that "Wagyu" burger at Arby's that they have once in a while is pretty good. Nothing to go out of your way for but decent enough. Had to try it once.

There are a lot of more expensive higher end burger places but they are that, expensive, and not that much better than the In-N-Out and Culvers and equivalent.

That is all.

Willie: Ya, the old stuff ( single wire on post ) is 12Ga, where as the romax looks to be 14Ga. Not an issue as new 12Ga is going in. Probably only need 14Ga, but I do not have any of that. Box will have 4 20A breakers ( 40A per leg ) which should take care of bedrooms. Nothing big in those, one computer setup is probably the max. Note that we are combining two of the rooms ( East and North ) into one by removing the hallway wall and doorways. Should give the daughter a tad more room for her stuff and projects. The South room ( guest room ) will have a door. Yes, there is a door at the top of the stairs. So ima basically using 3 of the 20A circuits for room outlets ( 2 for the combined room ) and the other for ceiling lights which also includes the hall/stairway lights.

We were telling the daughter about the cluster so she went and looked. HOLY SH.T was her response.

Later
12 ga wire for 20 amp circuit.
14 ga wire for 15 amp.
14 ga wire is a risk with 20 amp breakers.
As per electrical code in my area.

Mentioning 🥓 I'm giving to understand that the US prefers it's Bacon crispy, true ?
I can't speak for all Americans, but this American, me likes bacon perfectly cooked, (slow and low) not crispy. My Hungarian wife likes her bacon crispy as do my American kids and grandkids. To be perfectly honest I will eat bacon cooked either way. I prefer you don't make it crispy.
I'm off to bed. I'm sparing you from more pompous and long drivel tonight ;)🤣

Tonight I was trying to help a friend archive his Google drive for his non profit and was downloading GB after GB of stuff in small chunks since Google Drive would fail on the "zip" portion if I selected too many (too big) files at once. And one of his folders was organized such that I had to manually do this in small chunks. Mindless and frustraying. Between that and a work server going offline so I can't finish my testing I was doing of a bug for tomorrow and I got distracted here while I was waiting...
Thank you for your time, and God Bless you for helping with the non-profit. For the record you are no more pompous than any good professor. ;) Drivel is not a word I would use for your posts.
No crispy bacon

I prefer English bacon, but for American bacon, I prefer it chewy.
Yes sir! I love bacon fat, please don't render it all into the pan!
Bacon...The only reason to eat a salad on bread with mayonnaise!
I like salad, but I love bacon!
Cell Phone service - We're kinda stuck with AT&T since T-Mobile and Verizon service to our location is spotty. AT&T has been an excellent provider for us and they have a tower just over a mile away.
How close you are to the cell tower is what matters most. Everything else is irrelevant if you can't get a signal. I had ATT through most of the 90s. Good people and not bad coverage was my experience. I was contracted to operate a crane at a Verizon location near Richmond. The crew had Verizon I had ATT. oddly enough I was the only one with a signal. Location location location.
Louis - I use A-1 sauce on fried chicken strips and chicken fried steak, never on a good quality meat.
I will have to try that. Although I would mix it with ketchup. A-1 by itself has too strong a flavor for me.
Bacon: Only two ways for that - either raw or floppy! Crunchy bacon is a waste of pig.
We should have lunch together!
If one describes brown sauce it sounds gross, but it is easily beter than ketchup in the right place, think of a bbq sauce with no tomatoes, tangy hard to describe but wakes you taste buds up as they stand to attention and salute!
I only eat barbeque sauce when I make pork barbeque. I'm not one for strong flavors. I do like A-1 mixed with ketchup, but only on a cheap steak.
Natasha is frequently by my side. :)
That is more than good enough!
Louis- Wonderful family photo. I hope you are feeling better.
Thank you, sir. No worries standard procedure for me. Every day is a good day, some are just better than others.
My "go to" gravy.
My wife's homemade gravy for me! Hungarians don't eat gravy, at least not my wife's family. But she can learn to cook anything! She makes the best Maryland crab cakes among many other things.

You could smell the smoke west of Baltimore. It's not noticeable here in southeast Baltimore.

It's a good thing. I have the windows open!

I can't believe we have only had the central air on for less than a week total this year.

Long day today, I'm going to bed soon.

Have a good night, Everybody!

Evening all. Not a bad day here in H-Town. Warm with a slight breeze, sun in and out.

I heard from JL Innovations and they will be sending the missing pieces.

Hot Peppers

Went to the Taco Place for supper... wife wanted a margarita, and I blew my diet with a burrito and a cup of Queso Dip and a basket of chips....

Wanted to patio sit and read a new game book I received today, but darn Canada is still leaking. With my asthma, anything in the 60+ AQ range is danger zone. I was outside most of today, no idea it was getting bad. I've seen numbers from different sources ranging from AQ rating of 61 to 75 for our area.

Unlike California, we don't have AQ meters on every street corner. So our numbers can fluctuate based on which station they're pulling from.

Now I'm in the basement and hit the inhaler once after I started getting the rattle in my chest.
