Planning on a 240V 40Amp box upstairs which should take care of the 2 rooms.
40 amps may be too big for what looks like 14 gauge wiring. Unless what you are referring to as a 40 amp breaker is the total over both circuits. Personally I would use single 120v 20a breakers for each circuit if the wire is indeed 14 gauge. Less fixtures would be out if there is a problem or if you need to add something later on.

I have to admit I don't have any steamers from any country (USA, Japan, Germany/Europe). They are interesting but unless I get the itch to do some specific WW2 consist or something its not a path that I want to start going down (and which I don't have a personal connection to).

Luckily. Saves me a lot of money.

I saw a program about hot foods on the history channel years ago. Some people do punish themselves!

Isn't the habanero the hottest pepper in the world?

My wife likes hot stuff much more than me. She prefers hot Hungarian peppers but the only way to get good ones is to smuggle them in. I don't know if it is legal or not. But she always has them and kolbasz when she comes back from Hungary. Everything Hungarian you buy here in the states is either not the same or not fresh.

My youngest grandson has always liked spicy food. I did not eat jalapenos until my late teens! He is the only kid I knew that likes spicy food. He is very much like his grandmother in many ways.
You could legitimately buy the seeds and grow them, although peppers need a long season warmth and an early start I’d essential,if she smuggles the fruit back she has bought the seeds!
feb throw a few on a light compost, cover lightly, no light first week water let almost dry water continue until seed pops, then put in a small pot and increase pot each time roots reach the bottom, 3 plants near each other in pots so you can move to best light least cold should provide fruit and your wife’s ever loving adoration…..hmm I think you have that already…..but you would get brownie points and probably just for trying,
put in bamboo canes and ties each 6 inches loosely, watering can be from base in a tray one your no longer potting up and roots reached the bottom, hopefully your not in a mosquito area! Keep seed from all fruit moving forward in a dry glass jar with a tight lid, storing in the jar on window sill until very dry works, allowing it to get cold over winter May help with the seed rate, but if damp will likely mold and be junk.

Willie might have an opinion.

That applies to almost anything that is supposedly another countries. Most supposedly "foreign foods" are actually made here under licence, for example Tim Tams and believe me, the Tim Tams made here also taste differently to those made back in Oz. I think the same applies to Fosters Beer - I think that is also made here under licence - not that it matters, I never liked the stuff anyway :)

It also works the other way as well Mc Doogles tastes totally different in Oz than it does here. Both taste like the Brown Sauce you were thinking of mate, but none the less - a little different.

Anyway, the point is I doubt any country actually gets anything that is truly made in that products home country; although, there could be some I suppose such as Wegmans claiming they sell Lamb from Australia - I'm not so sure about that either .
Uk gets Australian lamb, price is cheaper legs leaner than the more desirable welsh lamb, but the tasting is excellent, cones on slow cruisers … I mean container ships.

Morning all,

Bacon...The only reason to eat a salad on bread with mayonnaise!

Supposed to be 88° today. Not looking forward to this evening as I have to assist the local daughter's family in burying a pet they lost last night. They adopted this smaller Miniature Pincher about a year ago and in the past couple of months found she had a bad heart condition. After being at the vet with her yesterday as she wasn't doing well, she was found about 7:30 last night. Grandson is away at Space Camp and won't be told until he gets picked up as they want him to enjoy his camp experience. The granddaughter was taking it hard as she really liked the dog. I reminded her that we all wish we had more time with things we love, but remember the fun she had and be glad she was able to help give the dog a good home that she may not have had before being taken to the shelter. She was an easy going dog.

Back to work...BBL
Bacon egg sausage bread totally optional even before Keto no carbs bread
and never ketchup or brown sauce - they are to enhance sub standard food, I have free range chicken eggs from my own chickens, I have made home made sausages but other half likes smoother than I make I like 90 minimum meat he likes a smooth paste like sausage Richmond or similar yuk, and bacon English not sugared back yes streaky sure middle if I must but on the crispy side for the fat but not on the meat, I layer mine like paper so the fat cooks more than the meat then fold them all over and repeat, tedious but nice soft meat nice crispy fat,and eggs scrambled with salt other half likes paprika on his eggs, or fried I like a white tip not a yellow so often flip them before the yolk is hard, runny yolk, other half like a gluten free bread or Keto bread to dip in a rung yolk…..
and do not get me going on how picky he is on a boiled egg, I cook 6 all carefully times, not cold from fridge and usually only 3 meet his runny yolk, but no snotty white…I hate cooking him boiled eggs, I prefer a fully cooked egg cut in half slapped with mayo and chives….or in a scotch egg format, homemade great but fiddly, shop bought acceptable and less stress.

RE: Burgers

I feel bad for all of you without In-N-Out around for an affordable and tasty quick burger.

I don't go to McD for burgers or most anything (did get a McFlurry Strawberry Crunch special edition this week as the daughter wanted to try it). McD buns suck.

Burger King is OK but nothing compelling to make the effort to go there.

"Gourmet" chains like 5-Guys are fine but expensive and not worth the effort or cost. (Also "Habit burger" a small Cali chain that made its way to Ytah --w as fine but expensive for what you got).

We do have some local joints or local chains (a couple outlets) that are very good but also very expensive in comparison. A treat to go out once in a while to them.

But In-N-Out is an every day burger that tastes great and doesn't break the bank. I like it when the family suggests In-N-Out as I know the bill will be smaller than our other "eat out" places... And it tastes good.

I would try that but not here UK, unless in London and I do not go there anymore, was a fun p,ace but now just dreadful

Yeah unfortunately (for you) In-N-Out does not franchise and onlhy builds locations out that are within X miles of one of their distribution centers. So it is basically (in US) the west [Cali and coast]/intermountain west [everything just East of Kali and coast] and Texas and now someplace in the South they are expanding to.

Aloha

In and Out Burgers, Chad you are fortunate if your local place is that good. I have had them in Austin, LA and San Diego and IMO while they are much better than the major fast service chains, they are almost on par with the ever expanding Wisconsin based Culvers. I agree about 5 Guys, very good but not worth the expenditure. I can’t remember the last fast service hamburger purchase (McDonalds, BK or Wendy’s)

Yesterday was tough. Ended up driving to see turtles and it was enjoyable. But my sister’s health is definitely failing. Her Parkinson’s is really now affecting her ability to walk and stand. But the 3 of us managed to help her around and we limited some of the things we did yesterday. She did tell Terry on Monday when they finished riding the horses she thought that might be her last time. She is getting too unstable. Lunch was at Furraos at the 4 Seasons resort. I am told by the 3 traveling companions it was a big deal as the Television show White Lotus’s 1st season was filmed there. Truly had no clue what White Lotus was…

We still had a good time

Ho’okipa Beach pictures and some turtles. People were saying there were Monk Seals in the area of my last picture but I never saw them and they sure as heck are not in my picture. If they are there, they imitated rocks very well

For fast food:

Best Breakfast sandwich - Burger King sausage, egg and cheese croisanwich
Best Burger - Rally's slightly edges out Burger King. No IN & Out here. Culver's is good, but there's like one restaurant in a 50-mile radius.
Best Fries - Wendy's
Best Sandwich - Arby's Regular Roast Beef
Best drunken snarf at 1:00AM - Taco Bell
Best Lunch - Skyline Chili, but only if its lathered in hot sauce, lol. And it's a regional thing. Texans hate it becasue they call it Chili. It's not chili, but I don't care.. it is the nectar of the gods.

Willie: Ya, the old stuff ( single wire on post ) is 12Ga, where as the romax looks to be 14Ga. Not an issue as new 12Ga is going in. Probably only need 14Ga, but I do not have any of that. Box will have 4 20A breakers ( 40A per leg ) which should take care of bedrooms. Nothing big in those, one computer setup is probably the max. Note that we are combining two of the rooms ( East and North ) into one by removing the hallway wall and doorways. Should give the daughter a tad more room for her stuff and projects. The South room ( guest room ) will have a door. Yes, there is a door at the top of the stairs. So ima basically using 3 of the 20A circuits for room outlets ( 2 for the combined room ) and the other for ceiling lights which also includes the hall/stairway lights.

We were telling the daughter about the cluster so she went and looked. HOLY SH.T was her response.

Later

I was hoping you had your toes in the sand, with a drink in your hand and the beautiful Natasha by your side.
One out of three is good... My, (shod), toes were in the sand but it was in the back yard. The beaches...not until September.
Natasha is frequently by my side. :)

what do you call a bunch of old farts who play with toy trains ??? :D
That's easy, "Old farts playing with trains".
I recently annoyed someone on another forum, when I equated serious operations with the work I retired from, and that I enjoyed "playing" with my trains. Everyone has a different view as to what is "serious" model railroading, but some folks are "seriously" offended by someone who tries to replicate his workplace, but does so as recreation.

Our friend Guy's gift of Alberta forest fire smoke, is really becoming a hazard for some people. Additionally, we have added several local Jersey forest fires, one within about 7 miles of where I live. Gag. Never thought I would need a self contained breathing apparatus to water the flowersor takeout the garbage.:eek::rolleyes::rolleyes: Local fire was 70% contained this morning, and fortunately, there is little wind right now. Actually had to turn the AC on, not becaause it is that hot, (upper 70s), but because the windows cannot be opened.

RDG # 22 SW-1.jpg

Future project? I have three Walthers SW-1s, (2 PRR and 1 B&M). One will remain PRR, (Keystone scheme, 1966 number), one will become PC, and the third, Reading. I have a Cannon Cab, the only issue, is the stack. Any suggestions ? BTW, check out the tank car at the top of the picture.

you lost me at EGG. Ugh. Can't stand the taste nor texture of eggs.

When someone asks how I like my eggs, I reply "In a cake..."

Good to see you again.
Was I gone that long? Thanks. I have been busy, a new routine, designed to keep me from sitting. Wow! I really didn't realize I was gone so long.

No longer a beer drinker, but I do like Molson Export Ale. Very hard to find outside Quebec though. I also like Yuenling's "Lord Chesterfield Ale", brewed in the Pennsylvania Coal regions and available at a couple local liquor stores in a 12 pack. Haven't bought any yet, this year, not hot enough yet.

Today, I received my package from MB Kleins. a New Holland Tracked Excavator, suitable as a flat car load, or at a simulated construction site, A Pneumatic Dry Bulk trailer with Kenilworth tractor, for my Flei-flow site, and from Trainworld, a Fathers Day gift from my oldest, a Kibri bulk or container barge for the port area.

Bureau of Fire in 1957 Engine 5 - 1947 Ahrens Fox 1000 GPM #3466.jpg

Buliders # 3466, Aherns Fox 1947 1000 GPM front mount pumper. Photo taken in 1957, Bureau of Fire. Note the Art Deco styled Atlantic Gas station adjacent right, and the Gamewell Box by the door. Wish I had gotten my hands on one of those boxes, back when they were replaced.
Jordan made a 1928 version of the "Fox" front pump in HO, back in the day. Very distinctive piece of equipment.

I enlarged the video, then a still from the video, as much as I can, and I don't see the paperclips. Could you point them out to me?

Looks like a triple mainline with the loco in the middle, pulling flat cars on each outer track, with 3 5-lb weights on them. The paperclips look like they would be pulling the front truck toward the center, but the weight is helping the wheel flanges do their job.
