I see the US is about to be hit by both extremely hot and cold temps, for hot, consider adding ice cubes to your freezer ahead of ti me,ensure you do not dehydrate, avoid exercise especially intensive during this time, if really hot and you do not have air con, soak a towel in water wring it and drape it over you, consider this this for very animal pets, I am sue those expecting the cold weather know better than, me, but multi layers and warm drinks, let the animals sleep in your room, your breath gives out hit and moisture raising temps, I hope you are considering your options, and will not go out in the sun and get sunstroke! take care.
Yeah, it's only 2:00 pm here and it's already 97° F, or to you and Smudge, 37° C.

Afternoon All,

Slept much better last night so I have normal energy today. I spent several hours visiting with Tom and had a great time. After getting home I "planted" grass clumps and about 10 trees in front of the stone wall ramp. The grass clumps need some weathering (tomorrow). I also dirtied up 5 or 6 vehicles for the parking lot.

Ken (IL)- Good for you 👍.

Guy- Thanks. The birds I was talking about were a set of B&G Macaws. No singing, just loud screeching. The shed looks great.

Willie- THat's a shame. If you can't fix it maybe you can make it a regular cow.

Patrick- Nice looking fruit trees.

Todd- Neat looking train store.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Tom, glad you are feeling better.
Warrior Nun is a good show. We are waiting for the new season to begin.
The Warrior Nun was interesting. The reason I watched it and I rarely watch TV was it was renewed for another season and I was bored out of my mind. I binge watch when I do watch but I will not watch a 1 season series.

I feel much better then yesterday and Thursday night. But, this afternoon has not been as good as this morning. Replying now between naps. I have not been this sick since before retirement in 2014. Just a cold that got worst. 5 hockey games in 3 days triggered it based on watching my 2 kids play in hockey rinks for 12 years.

Went to work today, just to find out I was terminated. I had another fall yesterday, so I missed work to go to the ER. My boss told me that if the ER doctor had put me out for 3 days(yesterday, today & tomorrow), they would not have been able to count it against me. It was just one too many absences(even though they were all health-related, I didn’t have Dr notes for a bunch of them). Already started applying for unemployment, disability & a few call center type jobs. Going to call ODC(Opportunity Development Center) & 401K administrator(about how long I have to cash out or transfer my 401K- not a huge chunk of change in it- less than $8K, just so I know what my options are) on Monday.
Looks like the train room is in a holding pattern until I find another job or get approved for disability.

92° and sunny with the wind out of the south at 25 to 30 mph. Humidity is pretty high after all the rain over the past 2 weeks. We have a feels like of 102°. Supposed to break 100° over the next 2 days. Got caught up on a bunch of stuff but no trains.

Thanks for the likes on the trees. Both peach trees are the same variety and planted at the same time. One has a 7" diameter trunk and is nearly 20' tall despite having topping it twice over the past 8 years. The other a 4" diameter trunk and is 10' tall. Not sure why one is doing better ( ok the bigger one catches more of the water coming off the house).

Willie and Louis: The Belmont used to be on my calendar, but it is no fun watching it on NBC. Their Triple crown series , is a Bob Baffert Love Fest, when they are not pandering to someone special. Racing is just background.

In Baseball, At least the nationals won. Phillies keep on winning, and the Mets won one... Tampa Bay vs. Rangers Game 6, 8PM EDT, ESPN and ESPN+.

Boris, the horse racing coverage on NBC is poor. I miss Jim McKay.
I'm getting use to poor sports coverage.

It is a very comfortable 70f 21c here in Southeast Baltimore. I don't think we have needed the AC much more than 7-10 days this year.

Having a cup of coffee waiting for the Belmont before I go to bed. My normal bed time is 6:30pm. I'm getting sleepy. I fall asleep almost as quick as my head hits the pillow. Actually, right after I find a good show or ball game to watch on TV. Yes I leave the TV on all night.

If Rich Strike wins the Belmont he will be the first horse to win the Kentucky Derby, skip the Preakness and win the Belmont Stakes. I normally like to see history being made, not in this case.

Good evening all from a very hot H-Town, 101 degrees with a feels like of 113.
We had the daughters and 1 g-granddaughter visit.

Mike - Sorry to hear your news.
Guy - Your project is really looking good.
With our guest today, no trains left the station.

WOW! that sucks, ☹️

Mike, that is lousy. But, I can tell you one place to stay away from in Marshfield for a job!

I would try the service center at the Marshfield Clinic but all my former contacts have moved to other regions of the Marshfield System in Marshfield or have retired
