Thanks. You’ll be fine. Tip dry is your enemy and basically means your paint is too thick or the psi is too high. Have fun.

I can attest to that...Maybe he got it from MSN, they are good for running the click-bait "been dead for a while" re-hash stories.
Who are these two?Sorry, I know I said the last one was the last I would post but this one is train related.

Congratulations! Awesome! So how did you get the wheels out of the truck? My Mantua trucks are very strong and tight.Big day in the train shed, got the final fix for the Varney. I figured my issues were with the tender pickup, and after a trying several fixes I stumbled upon this on ebay:

The copper collars pick up the current from the wheels. I only need current from one track so oriented all the trucks the same:

All the live wheels go to the one wire that leads into the cab. The disconnect that came with the kit was used:

Believe me, the locomotive now runs like new. No hesitation, no coaxing, runs smooth and fine. I would recommend this product to anyone out there.
Nothing else new, picked up a gallon of Bondo today at Wal-mart for $59, a quart costs $38 at NAPA.
Have a great evening, stay cool those of you in the heat dome (high of 73 here today, low tonight 57 is forecast. Great sleeping weather),
and my empathy goes out to those in flood affected regions...

I had to look this up, because I knew the comments were going to be solid gold!Sorry, I know I said the last one was the last I would post but this one is train related.
Which highlights the fact that I have been avoiding the news since 2020. I didn't notice the date and I hadn't heard the news. You're 1 year late with the news.
I did.Louis, did you see Acuna's throw last night?
You Sir, have a keen eye for details. All I saw was a guy with an arm and accuracy.Which highlights the fact that I have been avoiding the news since 2020. I didn't notice the date and I hadn't heard the news.
I did.
It is amazing for more than one reason. Not only for the rare arm strength and accuracy. There have been others who could make that throw, Dwight Evans comes to mind.
The casual way Acuna played the ball fooled the baserunner, Jorbit Vivas into believing his advance would be uncontested. Vivas neither ran hard nor bothered to slide. Acuna's deception had him believing the throw was going to second to prevent the runner on first, Trent Grisham, from advancing. Grisham also must have believed the throw was going to second as he didn't try to advance.
It appears to me that Acuna had the deception in mind all along. The textbook method would be to get behind the ball to be coming in as you make the catch, maximizing arm strength and accuracy. Acuna appears to have set his feet as he made the catch and was relying on deception and his arm strength to have a chance to make the play.
Yankees' third base coach, Luis Rojas was also surprised. Instead of signaling the runner to slide he signaled him to hold at third. The baserunner and the coach were both surprised that the third basemen, Nacho Alvarez, had the ball! "Go sit down son, you just got punked"
Without the deception, that play would likely not have been made. Had Vivas run hard and slid Acuna would have had little chance to get him.
While the throw itself was amazing. Had the Yankees' baserunners been smart and hustled they could have had two runners in scoring position. The smart throw would have gone to second, but Acuna pulled off a little magic and the Yankees were the ones left looking stupid!
There was good reason Pete Rose always hustled, this play shows why.
Not surprising was the sportswriter whose headline read "Acuna's flat-footed Roberto Clemente throw to turn 2 awes Braves" He focused only one the throw and missed the rest. The writer was wrong on both accounts. Acuna was not flat-footed. He planted his right foot as he made the catch and turned to throw in one seamless motion. It was the Yankees who were in awe (surprised), not the Braves. The Braves were ready to make the play as they knew their teammates' arm strength very well.
I love baseball, details reveal the true story.
Did you used to do utube? I saw a kbkchooch channel but the last update was 9 years ago. I did watch the small tank engines on DCC.Good morning gang!
Cloudy and 74° with over case skies. Temp today is supposed to get to 86°. Showers often on all day long. Kind of a repeat of yesterday.
Great day to stay in the basement

I did not use the Varney trucks, which were metal, but some plastic Tichy trucks. The wheel assembly came with the kit.Congratulations! Awesome! So how did you get the wheels out of the truck? My Mantua trucks are very strong and tight.
That quick disconnect is a good idea.
