Wife bravely checked our deceased ancient snapping turtles today and it was indeed a female full of eggs.

Rewind a week or so you may remember a poor photo of a dead snapper , she could not make it out of our pond to deposit her brood, and died giving it a good fight...

She was half in the water and her stink was a bit too close to our garden, I courageously scooped her up with a No. 2 spade and laid her where the turkey vulture, or crows, as it turned out, could clean up the shell.

The maggots were already teeming her neck, not being submerged, however turned out as tasty as the rotten meat to our dutiful carrion.

The wee turtle egg shells were compromised and pecked clean, according to the keen observation of the missus. The skeleton of the skull also easily discernable.

Great to live in the country where all God's handiwork is on full display!

Good evening all. I have to be up early in the morning. 0345 to see oldest grandson off to Paris.
Then Daughter, SiL and grandchildren leave to go to Japan.
Goodnight all.

I'm sure there's more to this than is being reported, but media says Emma Watson has had her driver's license suspended for 6 months and was fined 1400 pounds for going 6mph over the speed limit.
It seems like a harsh penalty, but the way the story was slanted seemed to be to maximize the indignation.

4th offense in less than 2 years. She built up enough points to get penalized. This time it was only 8mph over. Banned from driving for 6 months. She's worth 8-9 figures. She could pay to have a driver take her to Oxford daily.

Evidently she has past infractions and shouldn't have been speeding again so soon.

That makes much more sense than the way it was reported.
I remember Bruce Willis' line, "I've got just enough points left on my driver's license to back into my garage without getting arrested".

Here is another scam. I received this in a text on my phone. It looked and sounded legit, but I know better. I don't have any violations. If I did, I wouldn’t be notified by a text.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those who didn't get pulled over with Emma Watson.

It's Troy again.

Had a rough night. Woke about 1:30 with a big acid bubble coming up. Didn't feel nauseous, but it felt less like acid reflux.

We did go to the Mexican place last night, and I had my usual cup of queso dip and chips (I eat enough to make half the cup disappear. And it was the chips and dip I tasted again in the wee hours of the morning.

I get that way sometimes (big nighttime tummy bubble) after a spider bite. But I can't find any sign of a bite.

Or, I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting to be lactose intolerant?

My cup of yogurt doesn't bother me in the mornings. But, too much ice cream in the evening can. Hmmmmm....
