Haha, yeah I don't live with my phone either. In fact, it was in the car since I had come home from the base run until the late afternoon when I remembered.
I dont either. There are times I will put it in the cup holder, forget about it and realize hours later that its still there!
There have been a few times its been in there all night. 😀

If I go somewhere with my wife I dont even take mine since she has hers attached to her at all times.

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 75°. Rain has been removed from today's forecast despite radar showing showers all over the North Texas area around here. Yesterday's precipitation was widely scattered, it sprinkled slightly here, but 65 miles away at the DFW airport, my daughter's plane was held on the tarmac for over 30 minutes because of their rain. My gauge got wet but didn't show anything more. High today is expected to be an unseasonably cool 82°. Pool cooled down to 87° yesterday due to two days of clouds.

Mowed and used the weedeater yesterday morning, then after lunch/nap, I pressure canned some more Green Beans and the first jars of actual spaghetti sauce. Up until then, it was all just Tomato sauce. Spaghetti sauce is done in 24 oz jars because that's what we need when we use it. The Green Beans were also done in 24 oz jars this time instead of pints, because the different size jars need different processing times and I didn't want to do it twice!

Canning equipment will be cleaned and put up today since there won't be enough of either to warrant canning again until the fall. We'll consume everything including the Squash, that ripens before then. Squash doesn't can well unless you plan to puree it when reheating.
Today as usual is the weekly grocery trek. I'll stop at the UPS store across the road to return an Amazon package, they make that process really easy. Not sure if my wife is going or if she'll add additional destinations or not. Who knows about later on with the weather being the determining factor.

No time out in the train shed yesterday, except to restock the beer fridge. Kinda waiting to get more done on the riding lawn mower that's assembled and primed. I had done the tires with a new to me shade of off-black, but I don't like it and I will redo them with my remaining bottle of Polly S Grimy Black.

John - The only food that I have ever gotten at a Buc-ees was their brisket breakfast tacos, which were very good.
Tom O - Even though it has been there much longer than the one in the city of Denton, I have never stopped at the Buc-ees by the race track. The gasoline at either is, as you posted, competitively priced, no cheaper than the other local places.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

78°/71° here this morning. Going to 92° and a heat index of 95°F today. I'll see how long I can hold out before flipping the A/C on again. It usually stays cooler inside at first while it's heating outside because of these thick plaster and lath walls in my house. Temperature and humidity will continue to rise through Sunday.

Chicken and hamburgers turned out good yesterday and I'm already looking forward to lunch.

Good morning all!

The neighborhood fireworks cranked up in full force last night. Heard them till around 11:30.

Another fairly nice Northern Illinois day, Currently 76F under mostly sunny skies. High will hit around 88F with
a very slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. Its very slight, so not counting on it. We really could use
some rain. The grass is looking like late August. The weeds are flourishing though.

Just doing a couple loads of laundry and picking the house up. It will be another pool day this afternoon.

Been pretty quiet around here with nothing major happening or breaking. Hope to keep it that way.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Morning All!
61F @ 50% clear. Got to 95F Yesterday, low 80's today - better.

FWIW - site was down for about 20 minutes an hour or so ago. Bob doing something? Wasn't my Inet as XtrackCad and AvrFreaks boomed in.

Somehow I managed to stay up until 0200 this am. That long nap yesterday probably had something to do with it. Anyway, we have not heard any bangs or booms at all. Strange for Libby. Tonight through the weekend might be another story though. Poor dogs. Ya, have a couple of mortar's so I won't be liked.

That info on machine guns was a good read. No, not getting one as I have enough trouble keeping ammo with the guns I have.

Looks like the Nissan is going to go away. Have 3 interested folks. One views/drives it @1000 today, then down the list we go if still here.

The neighbor to the Southwest has been mowing the back 3 - 4 acres setting the mower really low - dust bowl and that portion of the lawn is burnt even though he waters the heck out of it. Lawnmower girl usually has the height at #5 which keeps the moisture through the heat. Come August, not worth the trouble to either water or mow. It will grow back. Did not get out and weed wack the field grass; my bad.

Good morning gang and happy Thursday!

80° currently under cloudy skies, heading to 86°. Getting ready to grill weenies and burgers tomorrow, just the 3 of us and the pups this year. Pups absolutely hate the holiday. It's scarier than Halloween to them.
Speaking of the pups,
Bailey and Layla.jpg

They made out Veterinarian's "pet of the month" award for the month of July, what happy pups!! It is actually the second time we have had pets recognised in July, as my old dog Bud was Mr.July on his Vet's calendar 4 years ago.

Everyone was excited at the news, except the cat, he couldn't give 2 💩s. Just like a cat!

Wife has some Idea about taking me mall walking or something after work. Meanwhile I will be in the basement!

That's still before it becomes the Lenny Briscoe show... Loved watching Law and Order. Fun walking along the West side and seeing them shooting scenes in the midst of normal pedestrian traffic.
It happened on that episode, Lenny was introduced.

Phil was shot in the previous episode and decided to take an administrative position at the 110.

Our television reception is spotty so we mainly get DVD's from the library.

Another overcast day. Not completely socked in but no blue sky. It was 74F at around 8:45am when I went out for a walk. 76F when I got back a little over an hour later. Feels a bit muggy. My sensors show 40% , which is a little high for around here (when it’s not raining). Slight breeze today.

Didn’t sleep great last night so kind of tired. Have a next round of interview for the local job. This one is in person at their office. 60 min of white boarding. I’m trying to refresh my memory on the top. I have 3 1/2 hours before I have to leave.

Howdy folks, 84 here heading to 91. Long night last night, the drip tank on our AC filled up and shut off around Midnight. So.....thankfully our nephew is still here so he went up and had to scoop out the pan so it would kick back on. AC company came out this morning and worked on it, hopefully it is taken care of this time.
@santafewillie last week of August there is a game convention called Reapercon in Denton. You ought to come out and see what it is all about.

Border collie or cattle dog mix? Good looking, happy and full of energy.

Fireworks do not bother my dog (Great Pyrenees), but if she senses something (2 or 4 legs) walking near our house she becomes Cujo.

Dave: Have good Internet? If so, Prime has a dongle pretty cheap. Roku is not bad as far as I have heard.

L8r
Thanks, Todd

We are super cheap (Louis calls it frugal), and I mean cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap, we could be mistaken for goldfinches....

Also we do not like tech stuff,

Refuse to do online banking,

Our only computer at home is the laptop that gets internet through our cell phone,

We both become irate when they want a username and password

I spend a lot of my free time reading books-the paper kind-written before 1870.

Prefer things as simple as possible.

The humidity got the better of me even though it was only 86°F in the house. I flipped on the A/C again. It's a comfortable 75°F inside now. I guess the A/C is likely to run until September now. I don't expect too many more mild days this summer.

After my launrdy comes out of the dryer I'm heading for the train room.

Roku TV and Samsung TV are both great, best of all, they are both free!
That's how we do it as well. We do subscribe to Hulu and Netflix. Amazon has a ton of free content too with our
Prime membership. Works out well for us.

We ditched Comcast 4 years ago in favor of much cheaper streaming. We did keep their internet due to the super fast
speeds. They kept jacking it up and screwing with the bill once a year and you had to call them to get a better rate.
When fiber optic became available in this area we ditched cable internet and went with them, Still super fast, very
reliable and cheaper. The plan we have is the same rate we pay forever (supposedly). It hasn't went up in 3.5 years.

We ditched Comcast
We did the same and went with T-Mobile for internet. Which has proven to be just as fast and even more reliable than Comcast. Best of all they have never raised the price for internet, an annual occurrence when we were with Comcast.

We need the fastest phone service for work. We get that with T-Mobile's Magenta-55 plan. (Thank you again Terry.) With the Magenta plan and T-Mobile's Home Internet we get MLB.TV (my favorite) Netflix, Disney+ and now they added Hulu, all free! In over eight years with T-Mobile, they have only raised their prices once, $5/phone line.

Amazon has a ton of free content too with our
Prime membership.
Yes, they do! My second favorite streaming service.

With all the streaming services, combined with Roku, and Samsung TV the hardest part is choosing what to watch, for my wife that is, I will almost always go with baseball. But I do enjoy watching other shows and movies with her.

Best of all we save more than $100/month over what we were paying Comcast.
