you know... now that I think about it, magnetizing could be done to scenes on MRRs .... want to move your figures around, so there is a different working girl on each corner? Or where deputy Barney is? do the magnet thing and move them around.
Troy when I was doing the display modules, I would hide switch machines inside trackside structures, connected to the turnout by a tine buried rod. The structures were held on place by magnets so switch machines were easy to maintain without crawling on the floor.

What do you do on an 88f degree evening in Wisconsin and your grandson has a hockey game. You put on a pair of jeans and a hoodie and go watch in 26 degree comfort

Even though he ( #16 in blue) scored 2 goals his 2 best friends in yellow prevailed

I got pneumonia once from that. Gym temp was very low and outside was 90/90+. Used to work out and then go take a run, come back into the gym for follow up abs. Down in Key West.
We went to Florida for my daughters spring break this April, and her and I were bored one night after everyone else packed it in due to the temperature drop after the sun went down.. We went from the Jacuzzi and jumped into the big unheated pool many times in a row one night.

Looking back, it probably was a stupid thing to do, but had a blast doing it.

I do this all the time in winter when we have a hot tub or jacuzzi at our disposal. It's actually healthy.

Ive sat in a hot tub for an hour and then gone and sat on the porch in the snow for 5 minutes (until I started to feel cold) and then went and jumped into the hot water again to soak.

Just end up in the cold as it closes your pores.

I did not know that. I figured it was sending all kinds of mixed signals around the body.

Here all along I thought we were being foolish and actually we were being healthy, 😀

Finally finished my Tsugawa tram that I had bought at the same time as the toilet. Installed lights in the headlamps. Had to drill a tiny hole for the 402 LED to fit in. The headlamp did not have any guides for placement on the roof and they are so tiny that I ended up with them pointing a bit upward. Wires go through a drilled hole in the roof. 470 ohm resistor and good to go. Probably could have gone with a 1-2K, but can always change that later. The mechanism on these things aren't the best, but it is running right now.

A bit speedy so the pax are being thrown all over. Food and groceries all over the place.

Morning all,

Well, having time last evening to finally look at the garden again, I picked about a dozen each okra pods and carrots, 2 more cucumbers (total of 8 so far this season) 5 peppers (can't believe they were there ) and spotted an orange tomato...which will be picked tomorrow in time for tomatoes by the 4th of July. I was surprised as there weren't any even looking like they'd be getting ripe in time. Still need time to start getting the beets out, which I should be able to tomorrow (hopefully).

Currently 70° and clear, possible pop up showers later. Wife's Equinox went in to get a front wheel hub replaced. Bearings rumbling pretty loudly, but she couldn't hear the droning it was causing. Just got an extra $300 in OT pay, and need $400 to fix the car. Funny how it's never the other way around...Makes one go Hmmmmm.

Have a CT scan later that is the last piece prior to the replacement in 2 weeks.

Good morning. I’ll take a sauna and a cold plunge after any day over a steam room experience.

It’s another beautiful Chamber of Commerce start to the day in Wisconsin. Again heading into the upper 80’s with some weather models showing lower 90’s. A slight chance of a severe pop up storm but right now it’s 69 and wonderful.

Our city had its big fireworks show last night as yesterday was the opening of the local 4th of July festival. Terry asked me around 9 if I could hear anything. Since I was in the train room the response was no. At 9:20 the daughter texted the firework show started at 9:30. At 9:55 I heard finally the fireworks as they are 1.25 miles south of us and told Terry. I guess what I heard was the start of the finale. By time I told Terry and we got on the south deck, they were over. That’s when I read that I missed the daughter’s 9:20 text.

The grandson’s hockey team got smoked last night. They blew a 3-0 1st period lead in maybe 45 seconds at the start of the 2nd period and went on to lose 5-10. But damn it was nice in the cold…

Our realtor yesterday let the farmer’s realtor know we would not counter and was asked why? We don’t play those games and I rarely have. Our realtor told his late to the game realtor that the farmer came to us without a realtor and we gave an honest price. We heard his story why he wanted to sell to us but we will not spend anymore time on it.

This morning Terry and I will do our Thursday morning breakfast/brunch run but with a couple friends for the 1st time since the UW Women’s hockey team won the NCAA national championship in March. I’ve seen Coach a few times as he took a vacation, was recruiting, went to Lake Placid for a celebration of his 1980 team USA winning the Miracle on Ice game, his wife is finally starting her stables plus Terry and I both had our health battles. It will be good to catch, we get picked up at 10 and we are heading about 80 miles west towards Dubuque, Iowa in an area Coach shouldn’t be bothered too much by autograph seekers.

I finished up inspection of the remainder of the 48 tank cars last night doing twice as many as I planned. Then I started to remove the hazmat decals from the placards. I think there are 20 left to go and after 8am I will do a few more until it’s time to leave. I will add the new hazmat numbers to the placards after the units are weathered in about a month.

My latest new engines are at the painter. Another Gp40-2W and 2 Sd70Ace’s are being stripped, painted and decaled for my Wisconsin Interstate. The plan is these are the last diesels for the layout. This will give me 8 for the Wisconsin Interstate, 1 for the Michigan Interstate and 1 for the Wisconsin River Valley. More than enough diesel power for the “current” layout. Next up for my layout and railroad is I am stripping wood chip hoppers and painting 8 of them for my Wisconsin River Valley and Terminal RR and 6 for the Wisconsin Interstate. If I don’t screw up the decals I have enough for 10 of each RR name. There will be a few more wood chip cars from different railroads but those details with 3 friends are not completely thought out yet.

I received a text Tuesday from an old weathering client who used to send me 10 cars a month. Says he’s been sick but is feeling better. He models the Wisconsin Central during January 1996 or the prime of the WC before the disastrous Weyawega derailment and the start of the fall of the WC to the CN Borg in October of 2001. He sent pictures of a coal train he wants to replicate and asked me how I would weather them. The pictures he sent make the cars look new as they are very clean. These cars are owned by Wisconsin Electric and I know at certain power generating stations in Wisconsin they ran the coal cars through a wash rack. A Isopropyl Alcohol spray bath and a heavy matte clear coat was my response to match his pictures.

Enjoy your day

When I woke up this morning, I realized that I needed to hit the base today since tomorrow, everything will be shut down. I timed the sweet spot to travel, leave the house around 0910 and miss the mad rushes that happen at 0700 and 0950. The main viaduct road to the base can get stuck all the way up the hill and take several minutes to get clear.

So I got my lyrica prescription refilled and hit the commissary. Will be making pasta on Sat. I found a pre-marinated pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon, so will try that on Sun. This weekend is scheduled (guessed) to be hot, so not sure if I will cook it outside or in the oven.

Tomorrow will be an effort to try to pay RG ROKKO. They don't accept credit card and have other methods, such as a Japan post office ATM transfer. I have never done it before so it will be a major learning experience. Everybody at the JNS forum say that he is very good to deal with, so I would like to spend my money there, helping small business. But, if I can't pay him, I can't buy from him. Hope it goes without too much hassle. Luckily there is a post office near me with an ATM.

In the meantime, the postman never rang once, but dropped off a package. I received my Tomix TM-TR07 power chassis for my DB20 tram/MOW/I don't know. It came with the rapido couplers which I exorcise quickly. I had ordered some Tomix knuckles, but they weren't even close to what's needed. I gave my Kato couplers a try and they were close. I had to ream out the pin hole and bend the metal retainer, but it fit. May not swing loosely, but it works.

I need to figure out the headlight installation...

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those that need an Isopropyl Alcohol spray bath. It's Troy again.

got up this morning, read a bit of the internet, decided I'd been screwed over enough by the shenanigans in the Capitol, so I closed that tab, and dove into my latest story. After writing 2400 words plus change, I finished the chapter I'd been stalled on. I decided that earned me a donut. So, off to shower, shave, and put on clothes.

then off to the amish donut shop. I splurged and got two donuts. then a stop at the gas station to fuel up before the holiday weekend increase hits. We'd dropped from 3.39 down to 3.19. I don't expect it to get cheaper over the weekend.

In other news, Indiana's governor got the legislature to pass a law saying the state could make any interstate a toll road, bypassing all the state red tape prior to requesting approval from the federal. In this political climate, I fully expect most of our Indiana Interstates to be tolled in the next two years.

looks like a lot of us who hop on I 69 to "shortcut" around the rest of the city to get to the north or east side are going to start driving THROUGH the city.

Since my birthday is next week, I've been getting the birthday alerts from the various restaurant apps on the phone. Tonight it will be Free Breadsticks at Pizza King. I only have the first half of the month to use these up.
