Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those celebrating trips around the sun.

Myself and Ringo Starr are both thrilled to have made another one. I'm like Ringo, in that I'd like some Peace and Love sent round the world.

And a donut. I'd definitely like to go get a birthday donut!

We also share our birthday with SciFi writer Robert Anson Heinlein.

In other news, wife and I went to our local pizza hut for a Stuffed Crust Meatlovers. Leftovers today for lunch. I guess great minds think alike, right Louis?

Willie: Since the debutante ball I'm writing is in Wales UK, I doubt that line dancing is involved. But I've added a character/suspect from Texas to the mix. She might try to get some going... I'm not a fan of country music, so I won't be including that or hip-hop rap in the band's repertoire.

Good morning all. A cloudy day with showers.
A large coffee on the go please, Flo.
A busy day both indoors and out.

OO scale locomotive with HO scale carriages do not look right. Must remember to use smaller locomotives on passenger services

Happy 61!

Survived the trip to Tokyo this morning for a neurology appt. Had to be there by 0830, so we were out of the house at 0610. Luckily we were able to get a seat on the train the entire way to our first transfer and only had to stand for 3 stops, ~5 minutes, packed in like a sardine. (hate riding these commuters).

Had a CT with some kind of shot in my vein. Not sure what it was. Then I got an MRI. almost fell asleep with that one. Had the emergency eject button in my hand and almost dropped it. Had the foamy ear plugs in and they wrapped my head up so that I wouldn't move. It deadened the sound quite a bit as well.

Train ride back was seated all the way. First cup of caffeine at 1100.

Follow up for results on Friday. At least it isn't as early as this one was.

Good Morning gang!!

76° and cloudy this morning, with a high temp of 86° and a 45% chance of thunderstorms today. In fact the whole week looks like more of the same . Oh joy, it's the last week at home. I've been cleared to return to work on the 14th, the PT people are coming this afternoon to do the official discharge.

Honestly, I can't wait to be back at work, its boring here at times. As far as the surgery goes, yes it was scary, and yes it hurt at times, but if I had to undergo it again I would. I feel like I am in my 40s again, instead of 64. I am heading to HD in a little bit to pick up 2 sheets of Masonite for backdrops, and also to hit the bank and Walgreens for an Rx.

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 72° this morning. High today still in the 80's with thunderstorms possible around noonish.

Just the usual Sunday activities yesterday. I added chemicals to the pool, did some weedeating around the deck and mowed about 1/3 acre. The usual bed linen laundry was done and I took the easy route and made Reuben Sandwiches for supper. Warmed up some leftover Tomato Pie that my wife made earlier in the week and had some Blackberries.
Due to a week of cloudiness, the pool temperature had dropped down to 81°, but by late afternoon yesterday had risen to an almost comfortable 83°. So after a two day break, I was able to get in and enjoy it again. 81° is OK if the sun is shining, but not with overcast skies. I think that it was raining Friday as well.
Medical day again today; I have a telephone/video appointment with the PCP at noon, and then I have to chauffeur my wife to her laser eye surgery at 3:00. That's supposed to be a quickie, but they dilate her eyes and she can't drive.

I did nothing out in the train shed yesterday, and today might be the same. Depends on when I get back from my wife's appointment.

Tom O - Speaking of geriatric Presidents, in my whole life there has only been one President who was younger than me! So in my eyes, they have all been geriatric. Kinda like the Pope!
Marlin - Had to look up Marionberry, as that's a new one to me.
Troy - Happy Birthday.
Your OTR Truck Driver friend shouldn't have any trouble finding another job, if he has a good record. I see "Drivers Wanted" painted on the back of more than half of the trucks that I see on the highway.

As Troy posted earlier, today is Ringo Starr's 85th birthday. For you younger guys out there, he used to play drums for a band called The Beatles before he went solo. He's still touring and he still plays the drums in his shows. He does tour with a second drummer though. And today is also the birthday of an obscure musician, the late Jim Rodford, bass player for Argent, The Kinks and The Zombies. He would have been 84 today.
Everyone have a magnificent Monday.

Good morning from Wisconsin. It’s cloudy and cool at 63f degrees heading to 82. No rain in the forecast and the winds are calm at 1mph with gusts of 2! This is about the norm for the next few days.

This morning is work on a layout day but 7 miles and 17 minutes away. I’ll be there from 9am and be home by 1pm. Looks like 5 of us will finish the return loop end of the mushroom Penisula. I image with the skills of the crew coming we could get the whole peninsula finished on at least 2 of the 3 levels. The owner was working on the frame segments Saturday and Sunday. The peninsula is 52’ long and 13’ wide with a minimum of a 4’ aisle in the middle. Instead of a helix the owner has designed this penisinsula to make the climb between levels, a nolix or as he calls it a peninulix. Weird but it sounds better than it reads. Next week when I come back here I will be bringing the initial background facades to a 32’ long paper mill. These are just facades so far with detailing drawn on but not built yet. We will be doing placement so I can start building the attachments to the buildings like sheds, over hangs, pulp tanks and conveyors. From next week on my goal is to have a completed, operational and 90% detailed mill by Thanksgiving. The owner wanted this mill and a brewery about 1/2 of the paper mill size completed for an event ( OPS session) he is part in early October. I could have been ready with the mill but the brewery building guy recently said no. The layout though will still be ready to run!

I did get into my train room yesterday and finished up a unit, got final approval and billed the client. Hopefully this afternoon it will ship. Until the end of October I will be shipping at least 1 diesel per week. I plugged in what remaining 26 diesels I have to weather and it came out like that. I texted the 8 owners to make sure they are ok with it. I have nothing beyond that and that was the goal to slowly reduce the commission work I’m doing. I now have some tank cars to work on and last week I did finish removing the hazmat numbers on the placards. The client was sending me a couple sheets of numbers for the ethanol these cars will haul.

I pulled out yesterday 6 fresh reefers of my own from the latest run from Scaletrains that I will start the graffiti on. Since these cars are a huge canvas for the graffiti artist/vandals if I want to sell these I need to add the graffiti. These cars were purchased with the intent to sell them. I’ll be thrilled if they are ready to sell in November. Custom graffiti for me is slow so I will start soon.

Enjoy the day

Good morning all,

55f and calm this morning, sunny. I had to wear the hooded sweatshirt outdoors this morning for my bird watching, very pleasant. Headed to 81.

Internet was awful last couple days, today it is swiftly humming. Major road construction on I-35, about 2 miles away, with cars backed up 10 miles. Most of them with passengers on their device, I surmise.

Beets, Kale, and Swiss Chard thriving in the raised bed. We have had two weeks of the Kale, tonight will be the first taste of our beets:

Helping out at the thrift store for a couple hours this morning, then some wood cutting followed by the trainshed.

Ringo Starr? Wife and I had the privilege of seeing him in concert, with friends, must be about 10 years ago, at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. He really put on a show (for his age, especially).

I think it was Snowblind.
I believe that it was The Wizard.
What song was on the B-side of Black Sabbath's Paranoid 45?

I turned to Microsoft's AI Copilot.

The B-side of Black Sabbath’s iconic 1970 single “Paranoid” was “The Wizard”. While “Paranoid” became one of the band’s most recognizable tracks and a defining anthem of early heavy metal. “The Wizard” brought a bluesy, harmonica-driven groove that showcased the band’s versatility.

Fun twist: “The Wizard” was actually the A-side of their debut single in some markets before “Paranoid” took off. So, depending on where you bought the 45, the label might’ve flipped!

Then I saw the defining proof. Which surprised me, the Wizard has always been one of my favorites.

Thank you, gentlemen! I'm getting old, I completely forgot.

A follow up question; was it common to have songs from different albums on the same 45?

The Wizard is from Black Sabbath's self-titled debut album. While Paranoid was on their second Album, titled Paranoid.

Here is a bit of trivia. The Album Paranoid was originally to be titled War Pigs. Until the record label got cold feet. They worried that the title War Pigs might be too controversial, and they loved the song Paranoid.

Good morning all!

Still a very humid out there despite the rains that moved through the area yesterday. Currently its 72F heading up
to a high of 83F.

My daughter starts a Monday night volleyball league tonight. We have to get over
to the graphics place this morning to pick up the uniform top and the warm-up clothes. Got the Email late Friday
that they were done, nothing like waiting till the last minute for them to be complete. The 2 games start at 5pm
and we have to be there at 4:15pm, so dinner will be out and after the games tonight.

Other than laundry and a few other misc chores, not much else going on.

Have a safe day everyone!

That’s pretty good. Iirc last year my daughter’s HS swim team team swim suits didn’t arrive until half way through the season.

I also have a faint memory of the water polo suits not showing up until the season was well started this spring. But that may be a false memory. Maybe I’m an AI.

Been to the bank, stopped by work and visited with the boss making sure all is ready for next week, then HD where I bought 2 4x sheets of Masonite for backdrops and carried them in unassisted. Son #4 is still in the bathroom, I didn't feel the need to disturb him, I could manage just fine. Cutting and painting is on the order for the day, after lunch and the PT people leave here.
Energizer Bunny mode ON!!
