I'd tell them to do it again (with a note that this is a repeat of an earlier request that went south, not a new rx)

No need to find fault, but just to get it done.
We're on the third round of "please fax again" unfortunately. Tracking down the gremlin is, unfortunately going to take one side admitting the problem might be on their end and getting an IT issue going.

We're down to the point where MIL is willing to dip into her budget and purchase a couple of sensors outright without going through medicare just to have them on hand.

She's worrying herself sick because she knows she's fragile with the fingerstick method. If she's starting to crash, the instaread sensor are about all she can manage. It gives her enough warning that she can start chewing on a cookie and a glucose tab or two and bring her sugar back up.

That's why I asked if anyone knows where to go with a prescription to purchase one outright to get a buffer while CCS and the Doc get their faxing figured out.

Here’s a thought, can the prescription be emailed instead of faxed? A lot of companies are no longer using faxes because it’s easier and sometimes more reliable to scan an image like a prescription and then email it to the recipient to be printed out and used on that end. it works out so well that we don’t even have a fax machine anymore where I work. And like I said, just a thought.

I’m sure the “suits” are so concerned about the Tech that they are coming to make sure he is ok and if he needs help just ask! Yes, I know, in my dreams…

Doubt he has a job when they leave
I had my fair share of folks that were injured on the job for violating safety rules, that I had to terminate. Didn't always wait until they were released from workers comp. Never a successful lawsuit against the company either. It was always a drag if they were a good employee otherwise.

Good morning from Camp Swampy. It's partly cloudy and 75.
While it might be "shop procedure", I don't think there is anything in the safety manual about proper tire inflation. We'll see if the kid is sharp enough to not admit, or at least be vague, about how he was inflating the tire when it catastrophically failed.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those who believe in Agent Mulder...

It's Troy again.

As for the wife's/MIL's dilemma, asking to get the prescription emailed is a good idea. Finding someone at CCS to do so may prove challenging in my estimation. This seems to be one of those corporations with a process that shall never be deviated from... but we'll see. I've passed along the email suggestion to the wife.

As for me, I'm now torn... Do I want to go hang out with the crazies back in my home town? I've only watched the show a few times, but the event is probably a hoot and a half...

Cause you know... It's the Aliens... did you see the headlines yesterday?

November 4.... hmmmm...

If only Scully and Mulder were going to be there....

Good morning.
Summer has finally arrived at the Jersey Shore. Currently 81° at Swampside, after a low of 71° this morning. Going to 95. Forecast Hazy, Hot, and Humid! I tend to ignore heat index figures, as they are part of "Feel Bad" hype, but Hot is Hot, and we haven't had to deal with this before now.

Karl and Troy: Read somewhere, not to long ago, where the Healthcare Industry is the last bastion of the Fax Machine. The pharmacist at the Rite Aid I deal with, told me that about 50% of the doctors electronically transmit their orders, meaning the other half doesn't. To your other question, Troy, there are what is called a "Specialty Pharmacy", where you can obtain medicines and devices not normally carried by retail drug stores. Check your MIL's drug plan, it should list approved plans. May still require an Rx from the Doctor / prescribing agency, even if self pay.

Troy, when insurance and Medicare refused to approve my blood glucose meter after I tested using it twice I asked the Pharmacy if I could buy without a prescription. No I needed the prescription but could “self” pay for it.

Good morning from a steamy So. Central Wi. 71f degrees now but the humidity reading is nuts at 96%

It’s going to be very uncomfortable today when it warms up into the 90’s. It’s hard to breathe on the front porch already, can’t wait to hear from the lady with COPD. She is out with her horses right now.

enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Clear and 77°. The Weather Underground guy around the corner still hasn't gotten his thingamajig fixed, it still shows -40°F until around 0800. Ten day forecast remains the same, triple digits, heat advisory, and no rain.

I guess that yesterday's sonograms went OK. Of course the tech is not allowed to tell me anything, but she didn't run out of the room screaming for the doctor. Yesterday was legs, feet and abdomen. Friday's are arterial and venous. Doctor is trying to rule out many things before agreeing with me that sciatica is affecting my left leg and lower back. Certain stretching exercises and Tylenol help considerably. He's also drumming up Medicare paid for business for his in-house sonogram lab.
Today is the weekly grocery trek. Seems to be a longer list than usual already, even before my wife's input.
Spent too much time in the pool yesterday, two trips of an hour each. The water temperature is still a comfortable 87°. Not having to mow gives me a lot more time there.

All of that pool and medical time kept me from any extended visit to the train shed, although I did manage one very small project.
I needed a fence between the feed mill and Majestic Hardware.
IMG_0054.JPG

I used some leftover Woodland Scenics chain link fence pieces and three posts made from .045" styrene rod to make this.
IMG_0055.JPG

Drilled some holes (in the right places for a change), and completion

Now I won't have folks driving from parking lot to parking lot over the grassy strip. Some tall grass will finish this scene up as soon as I get those supplies back out.

Tom O -
Lots of dog walkers out as they try to get their walks done in the dry. Lots of interesting sleep clothes wandering the neighborhood!
Ahhh! The things that I miss by living in the country.

Sherrel -
The spousal Unit got me soused yesterday afternoon and into the evening - then we forgot to grill a couple of nice ribeyes
I'm not sure that I ever got that soused!;) Mighta burned something, but never forgot.
Hope that you got the trash tosser straightened out.
Guy - I think that the flatcar thread that you are looking for is called "Let's Get Loaded" or something similar.
Curt -
Willie- Hard to believe Jagger is 80 years old.
What's more hard to believe is that he and Keith Richards are both still alive!
Terry -
According to MSN, which is always suspect, Sinead O'Connor died today at age 56.
While true, who cares?

Everyone have a great day.

Great job on the fence Willie. My lap pool on Wednesday was 91f degrees and getting too warm for comfort. Out in the direct sun, it‘s daily temperature keeps rising.

Sleep wear and dog walking are an interesting sight. Not always pleasant but for the most part it’s very nice and a few outstanding thrown in there. Terry thinks it’s a hoot when I describe them to her. I would and Terry agrees classify myself as decent! Sure it’s sexist but I am not hooting or hollering from the front porch.

Another day - another problem -- Color me on the sick list another day today - I will try and check back later on.

Another day of advertised 98 degrees, which will more than likly go higher. True to form yesterday's 98 topped out at 100 again.

Interesting and totally wasted (on my part) afternoon for 5 hours with the HOA mediation.
A memorandum of understanding was produced - now to see if it is followed upon today?
I stick by my statement that some people just need to be done away with!

Morning all,

Busy here at the city. Seeing whose been paying attention to the emails going out.

Currently 85 and sunny with high today of a warm 103°. Heat advisory up for the next week as High temps are supposed to exceed 100° for the next 7-10 days.

Once again no work on the trains, but summer has many more things I need to handle outside than during the winter months. I finally did schedule another week off in mid-September. Still have way too much vacation to schedule.

Karl: Any issues with the transmissions on a '16 Equinox your aware of? Having it serviced next week for the first time at almost 100,000 miles. We're not experiencing any problems, but one of those items I missed earlier.

Well back to it.

That's one of our better transmissions. There is no replaceable filter so no need to drop the pan. Much better to do a fluid exchange where the cooler lines are interrupted and new fluid is pushed through the transmission until new fluid comes out the other side of the cooler line. 100% fluid change instead of a half the fluid by dropping the pan.

Good Morning All!

UFO's - Saw one way up many moons ago while doing morning paper route. Friend that helped saw it too. Basically looked like a 'shooting start' of which I first thought: until it took a 90 degree turn, then we both looked at each other and said 'Cool'.

Morning follies: Kinda gross, but nature at it best/worst depending on PoV. I went out back to stand in the sun for a moment. Saw Bob ( cat ) carrying something and watched. Welp, Bob had a squirrel, and jumped to the top of the fence padding along on the top rail. Lizzy ( dog ) came running to where Bob was on the fence and watched/waited. She was apparently watching Bob catch the squirrel from the other side of the house. Bob jumped to the ground and moved near the apple tree with Lizzy following. Dropped the squirrel at Lizzy's feet. I had thought it dead as it did not move while being carried. Ya, well as soon as Lizzy nosed it and tried to pick it up, off it goes trying to get away. Now both Bob and Lizzy are chasing the thing. When the squirrel jumped into the air, both followed and Lizzy chomped and caught it mid air. Back to the ground we go again. Lizzy dropped it again, then nosed it. Got bit and did a circle yelping, but did not loose site of it. Chomped again and it played dead again. Bob gave up and went back in the house. Lizzy got it still finally. She picked it up and went back to the other side of the house. I didn't follow so I assume that there is a pile of fur somewhere.

Don't like stuff dying, but in this case, what was I supposed to do? Shoot the cat, Shoot the dog? Both? I think not. After Lizzy got bit it dawned on me to grab my camera. Battery in it dead, battery waiting dead. No clue to where the camera case was, so headed back outside. No blood draw on Lizzy or Bob and have not found the fur pile yet.

Starting to wrap up the work bench. I started getting more organized last weekend but late last night and this morning I tackled the bench. I have a trailer hooked up to a ATV at the lower level sliding doors. I think I took a day off from any weathering.

These should be the last pictures in the temporary headquarters. The main bench will stay the same 24” wide x 48” long with a 18” x 36” extension. But the room it’s going in is much bigger and the paint booth will be a short roll away instead of a 20’ walk

Actually, I am kind of lost today. Did my Friday vacuuming today and Terry asked why, well it’s Friday. She said nope it’s Thursday and we have the grandkids for dinner tonight and an over night! So being a bit scattered I decided packing the bench up might be the safest thing
