Good afternoon all. According to the saying "If it rains on St Swithin's Day, it will rain for forty days and nights." Well it did and the rain hasn't stopped. This month is now the wettest July on record.

My A1C is not where my doctor wants it. Until it improves, I'm avoiding carbohydrates. I go back August 9th. I'm hoping the increased medications and diet right the ship.

Other than my favorites, Esskay and Land O Lakes cheeses I couldn't say what other brands are good or bad. My grocery store, Redner's has its own brand of lunch meats. Their domestic ham is good, and their German bologna is great!

Come to think of it, I haven't come across a good deli roast beef in years.
I'm mostly avoiding deli meats due to their sodium content. Even the ones advertised "low sodium" exceed recommendations. Dietz and Watson, (Northeast Philly) and Brunckhorst (Boars Head), are the better brands. Then there are store brands and national Brands. Never saw DeLueso around here, then I never looked.

heyday of the "corporate raider" is over.
Nah, they have just been laying low.

The overspray of IPA on the dull coat actually worked out and looks like natural weathering.
Looks great...the Tree just enhances the weathered view.
I thought about Louis "crying in his beer"!
He wasn't the only one... ;)

Second son is in San Diego on Navy Business. He had the pleasure of attending the Padres taming of the Pittsburgh Pirates 5 - 1.

It's sad that it is against the law to just shoot some people!
Not for nothing, when is it ever OK to throw trash over the fence into another's yard? I assume all units have regular trash collections? I have a neighbor, an elderly lady who was born in Korea, who thinks it's appropriate to toss yard debris over the fence rather than put it in the garbage, but she does other strange things. I just pick it up when find it. I suspect she burns her trash in her wood stove...(why else would you burn a wood stove in 90° temperatures)...but ??? We contract with carting contractors on an individual basis, and she may be trying to save a buck. Not worth fighting over, eh? Have fun with the combatants.

Not fond of ethnic stereotypes. Dumbness has no national or cultural boundaries. And it's only getting worse.

I wonder if you could call it a retroactive abortion?
Darwin had a term that applies.

I love love love tracks in cobble stone street.

Good Morning, all.

50F today, in an aggressive rain. Which is wonderful.
Our town has escaped any overly adverse effects of fire or flood for this summer. I'm guessing nature will need to try again next year.
Mind you, everything surrounding us is already burned. So, I suppose nature will have her best shot with us next year.

I always thought there was a specific flatcar load thread somewhere on the forum, but, I can't find it. I was going to throw down my prototype photo of a wheel car in use.

This photo was acquired in Blue River, BC in June of this year. I'm glad I took it, but it's not a very good photo:

Here's a Gary Everhart photo borrowed from the RR Picture Archive. Same wheel car:

I like the idea of this flatcar load for a project. As fortune would have it, there happens to be a fish-belly flatcar scratch-build article in Model Railroader this month. - Another project to add to the wanna-do list.

It's sad that it is against the law to just shoot some people!
Sherrel - As a matter-of-fact, I agree with that statement, but would like to see the quota kept down to criminals only. And bosses who fire people before the pension comes due.

David - I like the junkyard back-scene on your layout. You are posting some fine photos. Well done!

Curt - Hope the throat scan turns out well for you. Do you chew tobacco?

Anyway, the wife wanted to try letting a robot try investing a wee bit of money for us. So, I made a minimum deposit through a broker with the investment controlled by AI, trading in currencies.
In the 6 days since the investment, it all appears to come out roses. However, I'm smelling a scam. I'm getting daily calls to invest more, and to use leverage to amplify the investment. A company trying to intoxicate a client with news too good to be true, is a definite red flag.
I'm going to have patience while I investigate the brokerage firm. When the minimal investment doubles, I'll try to pull-out the small original input, and see what happens. Buuttt!, I'm thinking I've got a small problem at this point.

Have a grat day, everyone!
