David - Is there any passenger ship that you don't have a picture of? Keep them coming; I enjoy them.

Willie - Still a few hundred to photograph. 🤣

Sometimes I get lucky.

We were on Queen Mary 2 in 2018 on her World Voyage. In the Mediterranean Sea near Gibraltar I managed to photograph Independence of the Seas.

In Oslo I saw AIDAluna. I thought this would be the best picture I would get.

PBGC obviously is run by people more incompetent than Social Security. When our bank account was compromised and we had to open a new one, SS te-routed the direct deposits in less than 15 days.
Apparently, if not corrupt - then incompetent. Social Security office for this area is in Hemet.
I have never witnessed such a well-oiled machine in all of my government dealings.
A 20 minute wait and things were changed 'on the spot' UN-believable!
BTW Has the ranch been sold yet?
YES - at a price reduction of 15%. The new owners will spend most of that reduction on repairs and even more on upgrades. That is why Kate and I gave up on trying to take on the place before.
That is also figures into her wanting to move. She has wanted a single story for years, but I cannot see it with family members and G-kids living with us for -- who knows!

That's one way to look at it - however, it may be my demise as well?

Real estate locally is mostly very near the peak - within say 5% range. This town is half-way between LA and San Diego so things are at a premium for those who cannot be in the "high rent area".

The single story ones have not gone down any that I can see, and most will be bid over the asking price as there are not many to begin with. I'm guessing There are not more than 10 within the 3-400 houses surrounding us and none within our HOA of 120.
Sherrel, I wouldn’t worry about your expired date. I believe that is already determined…

Interesting on your area real estate. In Austin the son tells me it’s the smaller single level houses and under 500k that the market is falling. The larger homes in the 500k to 1.2 are still in huge expensive demand and are selling like hotcakes, usually in under 30 days. Anything above 1.2 he says has stayed steady in sales

If it were only me, I’d be on the lake looking at the Capital building in Madison. We have 2 remaining properties left from the sell off of the property management business. One is a complex returned from the manager this year who returned it before default on the note we were carrying. He said he couldn’t handle the month to month stress of owning his own business. He was however one of our best day to day complex managers. Go figure! The property will be listed in August. The other is the last property we purchased in February 2020 with the idea the family would take over the top floor and roof. Terry needs to be close to the horses but I haven’t sold it yet because I’m holding onto hope.

In our part of WIsconsin I no longer know who to trust and what to believe. The media says sales have slowed on every category except condos. I guess they can’t build condos quick enough. I look at Realtor.com more than I should. There are lots of million dollar properties that are on 1/2-1 acre lots. Those don’t seem to be selling per my observations but the million $ + listings that have more then 3 acres all have offers pending.

We had a close to reasonable unsolicited offer on the newly being finished house and 100 acres. When push came to shove he said no to including the stables and the remaining 250+ acres. It’s just a game to the lady of the house and really I don’t care anymore where we live. We had I thought our forever till we die home 2 houses ago. Heck I could even be agreeable to staying here in our old offices as part of a duplex.

David, on a cruise, does sea sickness ever occur?

That always was my concern about taking a cruise. We had a couple we sort of knew, friends of friends, that were cruisers, their word not mine. Finally came back from one and purchased a berth to permanently live in. That was prior to Covid. I’m not sure how things settled out but I know the ship has been scrapped.

Karl- This bridge won't need tressels, save you some time building it for the layout.
It’s the new free range hanging track

all depends on the individual and the sea state from my experience

That's because of all of the techies moving into Austin from Kalifornia. They get ridiculous amounts from selling their places out there and have to buy big in order to avoid the capital gains taxes.

Just popping in and having fun up here still! Do have a train related pic from the area. State of Emergency in effect here again…..
Plague….hurricane…..forest fire…..floods…..we are waiting for locusts now…..lol

If there is anyone who would know how to work that scene into a layout it would be @HOexplorer. After reading all two gazillion pages of Jim's infamous thread, I'm confident he'd be diagramming something out after viewing that photo...

Yeah, I understand that and the son said real Austinites are getting fed up. But they are also cashing in. So, who knows.

Elon has started his town within a town concept about 25 minutes southeast of the auto factory in Bastrop. The City of Bastrop is up in arms becasue his town is not connecting to a more than capable sewage system. Mr. Elon Huckster again strikes the environment in his own way and will get away with it. They haven’t started at the auto factory the environmental preserve that was “such” a big selling point during the very quick permitting process which really doesn’t exist outside the actual city limits of Austin. People generally believe the factory is within the city limits, it’s not. One side of tollway 130 is in Austin and 1/3rd the property is there. But on the east side of the highway where the factory is, isn’t.

The son has hired a few ex-Californians who can’t believe the heat but are even more totally shocked by the constant humidity. I would have thought if I was moving I would have checked into that, it’s not an Arizona “dry heat”, that’s a well known fact. He said of the 6 he has hired, 4 have left for Nashville and it’s surrounds
