Afternoon All,

Started out with a walk at 77F and humid. Later in the morning Dad and I drove up to see Jon. After a late lunch I did some minor garage re-arranging. Tomorrow I'm heading down to see a group of friends in Orlando. After that who knows.

David- I hope you had a great vacation. Nice photos. That's a beautiful ship but I bet they were rough riding for the sailors.

Louis- Great photo. Prayers for Tucker.

Todd- I always do the readings also because my BP is always sky high at the doctor office.

Troy- I tried the Army Painter paint one time but didn't like it, but it looks like it works well for you.

Patrick- Good luck with the knees.

Karl- Good luck with your quests today.

Steve- Good to see you back.

Willie- Nice scenes. Great to have you back.

NTR- Nice shot.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Awesome. Wife and I were in Stockholm a couple days before a train ride to Göteborg and we wanted to go there to the Vasa museum. Unfortunately were were suffering from severe jet lag and didn't have the will power to make it...

The area where the Vasa Museum is huge. There are various museums on the site. Anyone would need 2 - 3 days to visit them all.
Then take a ride on these --- next door.

Awww LOUIS -- Say it an't so! Man, I feel for you there! If any consolation at all, at least you have him home. I did not get that chance with Charlie - Vet said: "You do not want to go through that"!
I have some idea how you feel about Charlie. My cocker spaniel, Bessy had a similar problem to Tucker. She went into cardiac arrest twenty minutes after arriving at the hospital and passed away. Bessy was only seven years old. That was almost eleven years ago, and it still saddens me to think of losing her so suddenly. I don't dwell on losing her. I try to focus on all the love and joy she brought into my life.
Prayers for Tucker.
Thank you, Curt!

I have good news; Tucker is doing well! He has responded to the treatments, and I should be able to pick him up at 5:30pm!

My wife and I are ecstatic! My other Beagle, Sophie will be as well when we return home with Tucker. She has been so sad watching the door waiting for Tucker to return.

Louis, the vet will probably forget to tell you, but expect Tucker to have to go out more often, because the medicine they probably gave him to remove the fluid will make him pee more.

Wonderful news and positive thoughts, LOUIS !
It's amazing! I knew he was vastly improved when they brought him out. As soon as he saw me, he broke free from the cheap harness. (Beagles are escape artists and Tucker should have been named Houdini) He ran straight too me howling, jumped at my face kissing me and bite my nose. I missed that greeting so much. That is his standard way of saying hello to me. Thankfully, he does not bite hard.

Good night, Everybody!

Ugggh! It's 7:00 pm and still 102° outside. Thankfully the pool temperature has remained acceptable at 89°, a bit warm but OK. I'd prefer 85° or below at this time of year. Other than Sunday with its 70% chance of thunderstorms, it looks like triple digits for the next ten days. Despite this ongoing heat wave, it's still not as bad as the summer of either 2011 or 1980. 2011 had 71 days above 100°, while 1980 had 69 days. However 1980 had 5 days above 110°, including one day at 113°.
Medical recovery seems to be progressing, although I am limiting outdoor activities quite a bit due to the heat. I'm actually going to have to mow at least parts of the yard tomorrow due to the sporadic rain lately; even though it has totaled less than 1" in a week. Crabgrass grows with or without moisture.
Adios!

No Philley Cheese Steaks tonight. Wife said just steak and taters (mini-reds)

Baked the taters with garlic and butter in foil in the kamado. Then brought them into the house and fried them up to crisp them in a skillet.

Back to the hobby desk, I used a slightly different color scheme of the Speed Paints for the second group of 6 ravagers...

Karl: If you can, post a photo of your garden gate when you finish. I have
Boris, I will, if I can ever get it done
Ever hear about the best laid plans of mice and men??

Went outside this morning to "whip the yard into shape" not realizing how the heat would affect me. I started trimming the Holly tree along the fence. I could only work on it about 30 minutes before the heat got me. At that point I headed for the ac for a bit. Then another 30 minutes outside, then an hour inside. I was able to get the holly tree trimmed, the basswood, the Maple and the Mimosa tree all trimmed up so that I no longer will get clunked in the head when I am on the tractor. Now my 5x10 trailer is piled high with cuttings . Even with rachet straps holding everything down, it's still piled higher than the truck. So I'm going to the dump at dawns early light.

I still have chicken wire fencing to finish around the garden, and a gate to build. Maybe tomorrow. Luckily I did get the grass cut, right before the sky opened up and dropped the temps. Currently it is 71°, Nice!

I did use the time cooling off to my advantage. 2 Micro Engineering bridges are ready for track, and 1 of the 4 Bowser WM hopper kits got assembled today!

Tomorrow Dump run, HD run, also SWMBO wants to shop for "She Sheds" and I need to pick up some clearcoat for the little red truck. I really need to retire so I have time for all this stuff!

Louis, Glad to hear the pup is coming home!

See ya in the a.m.
