Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and a warm muggy 82°, wind is 2 mph from the south. Radar shows lots of scattered storms 25 miles away that have been there for a few hours, but they're not crossing the Oklahoma border and just moving east. Expecting a high of 105° today, a degree warmer than yesterday. Heat advisory continues for all of the next ten days except Sunday when it may rain.

Recovery is going OK, but not as rapidly as I wish, mainly due to the excessive heat outside. I'd like more outdoor activity to rebuild stamina a bit, but it isn't in my best interest once the temperature gets much above 95°. That's around noon. I guess that another bright side to the ordeal is that I lost 10 pounds from not being given any food besides Jello. I expect to gain a couple back once I get the fluid level inside back to normal.
Today though, is the delayed grocery trek day. By the time we get home, it will be quite warm. Already on the itinerary besides the grocery store is Home Depot and the pharmacy.

I did some work out in the beloved train shed yesterday. Basically I resumed the quarterly layout cleaning of about a half dozen structures. I also ran some trains on the lower level. That felt good. I retook the fuzzy pictures of the hobo camp using the tripod this time, here they are.

Sherrel, Curt, Joe, et al - I am quite concerned that after 3 days of tests and procedures that they came to no conclusion as what the origin was. There were several theories floated around, some of which sounded plausible, some of which were obvious guesses. I am following up today with a phone call to a nurse practitioner to bring her up to date on everything so she can prepare a report prior to my visit with my primary care guy on Tuesday. The fact that the upper GI and colonoscopy came out clear is comforting in a way, but doesn't help. What's left? The small intestines which they are leaving up to my own GI to look at after I see the primary care guy first.
Steve - Good to see you again. I wondered where you went. Don't be a stranger and just drop by for any reason.

OK, I have caught up on the Coffee Shop, but I just don't have time to respond to some of the missed posts, so I begin anew. I also will skip several pages of the weathering threads as I see no opportunity to catch up with them either. Sorry Tom O.

Everyone have a wonderful day and an awesome weekend.

It’s ok WILLIE, the threads mainly are pictures. Glad you’re feeling better

How long would that last Sherrel a few months. I tried a 4 X 4 rubber boot, but it just caught the edge of the pipes. I'm going to order and 4 X 8 rubber connector that should do it.
Swal
Just trying to save you an extra trip to HD. With no pressure on the pipe, my shortcut there would probably outlast you and I.
I have used Oakum, bailing wire, and a split coffee can on repairs like that before where tree roots broke a sewer line.

Another day and I am still vertical - PTL!
Temp was 94f yesterday and expected 95f today with clear and sunny. Humidity will most likely be in the high 20's.
FLO - Just a breakfast sandwich and a small bowl of grits with butter. SWMBO is after me for some 'setups' today that I did not accomplish yesterday!
BBL

BP was 107/77 yesteday with a HR of 72 -- now to keep it in that range.

Good Morning All!

56F @ 72% and somewhat rainy. Good, we need it.

Willie: Glad to see you back and vertical. I hate it when I know something is not quite right or something happens and those supposed well educated medical folks can't figure it out. So probably like you, I am left to my own devices.

ReDo is progressing a little faster as I have gotten the hard stuff done. Going to HD Sunday for more stuff. Also, I have take a side trip from the upstairs to bore a hole in the basement wall for the tankless exhaust thingie and get that running. Think my hammer drill will handle it and thank the powers that be for having a backhoe to move outside dirt. I also found out the ACE will cut threads and length of the needed steel gas pipe. I don't have any of that sort of stuff laying around anymore. 190 gallons of Propane was $236 as the supplier has their July special going on.

As a note, I found out that Ozempic has withdrawal effects - dizziness in my case. Used my last poke last Monday and didn't get the refill until yesterday. Looked like a damn drunk getting up and just standing. Wife laughed, then worried. BS still stayed below 120 for the most part. I knew I still have the dreaded Metformin so wasn't too worried.

All in all, everything is good.

Good afternoon all. A cloudy day with a little sunshine later. A 'ship's wash' to do today.

Meanwhile. The line to Skagen Dock (Denmark) is rather overgrown, but not the turnouts. I guess the line is not used much even though the bushes are cut back. Note that the fencing is in good condition; the different lighting; a caravan against the metal fence. The different shades of long grass protecting the wild flowers. Nothing going on yet the more you see, there is.

David

Hey I can read the sign on the fence.

"27 exclusive Summer Houses for sale. Sale starts soon."

No computer help. I am feeling good this morning :):D😇

Be careful withdrawing from Ozempic. I purposely did not take it to Hawaii and just figured no big deal. Light headedness and a drunken walk for me for a few days. Then added 9 pounds in 2 weeks and I was very mindful of what I was eating. Now at home and back taking it the weight I gained is gone. If it wasn‘t for the fact I am truly using it for my diabetes and the weight loss is secondary, I would question even using it. From 2000mg of metforim I am down to just 500 per day. Ozempic also put me in the donut hole.

Happy Friday! Noontime, and cloudy at the Jersey Shore. 50% probability of thunder storms and 87° as I write this. If it doesn't rain by dinner time, I'll have to run the sprinklers. I accompanied the wife to her cardiologists this morning. She had a good feedback. We were in and out of there quickly, then went to the orchard, for peaches. This time, we avoided donuts, their delicious pies, and other temptations, and stuck to a couple quarts of peaches. (Our second peach run). She also bought a peach cobbler mix to try out. They had a sign prominently displayed, stating that Jersey Fresh vine ripened tomatoes would be ready in about three weeks , or about August 4. If I get any at all, it will be September, the way my luck is running this year. *@$!&# deer!

Karl:
If you can, post a photo of your garden gate when you finish. I have

My newest health wrinkle, is Vertigo. (I think). Now to learn more, and seek treatment. It's always something!

My old buddy, my shadow, my beagle Tucker has been in the hospital since early this morning. They tell me he is in the begining stages of congestive heart failure. All they can do is try to get the fluid out of his lungs. If all goes well, he will get some new medicines and we can pick him up later this evening.

If he responds to the treatment, and he can come home they don't know how long he will last. The same thing we all face.

Tom: Was not my intention to withdraw at all, so had to deal with it. In fact, most of the sites I looked at about the withdrawals stated something like 5 weeks to get it all out of your body. I do not believe that any weight came back as I as already at 210Lbs before I started taking it. Do not remember loosing any more when starting it, or for the 1st few weeks after that. Being busier than just driving since Oct last year has started what was left of my beer belly blob to shrink also. That is a good thing! Don't think I will ever get back to what I weighed when I got out of the Corps.

As to the doughnut hole - VA used to send 3 Months worth. Down to once a month for the posted dose; of which I do half of that for now so I only need to call my VA gal about every 2 months. Guess that those whom are using it for weight loss and not Type II are squashing the supply.

David: Absolutely Cool photos. The ship is awesome. Reminds me of the Kalmar Nyckel replica in Delaware, the original dating to 1625.

My pleasure. In the 1600s Sweden had a large empire. Much larger and powerful than at present. At one time the empire reached as far as Moscow. I wonder what a certain person(there) would say if Sweden wanted it back?
