Good Morning All. Cloudy and a quite warm 84°. Raindrops on the back porch and radar indicating a heavier shower less than 2 miles SE. Unfortunately that's moving away. But possibilities exist that it might expand out to here. Expecting 106° today with heat warnings.

Sorting through my extensive list of things to do after my scary five day ordeal. I had to first clear out some rotten tomatoes that unfortunately went past their prime; into the compost pile they went. There's a bunch that will have to be processed in the next 2-3 days. I'll take the easy way out and just make tomato sauce and convert to salsa and spaghetti sauce when needed. Saves time right now. I still have the downed pool shade umbrellas out there and the damn stove that we have to light manually, but it's all just time-consuming stuff. Postponing the weekly grocery trek until tomorrow while we sort out what's still needed and what's still left.
Pre-measurement for cataract surgery is next Tuesday. Missed a doctor's appointment this week with my primary care guy. but that's been rescheduled for next Wednesday. I will spend a lot of time re-synching prescription requirements and catching him up to date. There's some conflicting advice and I trust him best.

Speaking of the ordeal, my trust in the hospital system was further eroded this week by the "catheter episodes". At an early point, we discussed putting a catheter in place to eliminate the constant need to unhook/hook back all of the various IV's, oxygen, heart and other monitors, etc; every time I needed to pee. OK I thought, it would also be convienient for me not to have to deal with it. The female nurse installed it; soon afterward it started leaking, soaking the sheet and pad beneath me. A male nurse chided her and apparently reminded her that he had told her in the past that she had to shave males first. So off it came and she shaved, cleaned everything up and put a new one on. OK, no leaks. About an hour later, I asked her why this one didn't "gurgle" like the first one did. She then realized that she failed to turn the vacuum on, which promptly filled the jar, which had to be replaced. Meanwhile, she, the male nurse and my wife (the instigator) were laughing and joking about the whole process (including my goods) at my expense. No problem because it was effective from then on. However it is quite unnerving right now to reach down and handle a bald member, that will soon turn to stubble !@#$%&*:eek:o_O.

Didn't go out to the train shed yesterday, as that will wait for me. A real shower and my own bed took priority. I went to sleep around 7:30 and finally got up at 5:30, albeit with three bathroom/hydration breaks. Slept like a log.

Comments from many posts that I missed.
Patrick - I am jealous of you're being able to leave tomatoes on the vine until full ripeness, I tend to pick when almost fully red but still firm before insects.birds can pierce the skin.
Karl - Neat picture of the fruit stand last Sunday.
Mac - Loving all of your pictures, too many to single out any one in particular.

I haven't gotten all that far in catching up here in the Coffee Shop, and definitely not the forum in general, but I still have some recovery to do health wise; so I will leave you for now. Pictures will resume in a couple of days along with additional postings and comments.

Everybody have a great day.
Hey baldy, does your feet smell and your nose runs, oops, your built upside down.

Good morning, Everybody!

In all my years with T-Mobile I have never had any service issues. That is until 5pm yesterday. They told me they were adding capacity to the two towers near me. That resulted in us losing the internet, but the phones worked. They finally got the internet restored about an hour ago.

As a consultation prize they are sending me out a new state-of-the-art Internet Gateway free of charge. They said that would allow me to take full advantage of the 5G Ultra Capacity service. I had seen "5GUC" on my phone, but I did not know what it meant, now I do.

The downside is I may have to reinstall all my streaming apps, maybe not. If so, I hope my grandson comes over soon! He is my tech guy, either way I may just wait for him to swap the gateway.

An old man and technology don't always get along so well.

I threw T-Mobile out into the street years ago when they swore up one side and down the other that I had service at my house.
The many conversations I had with them went like this.
"Why does my cell only work when I am in the garage? "
"But your phone sounds fine!"
"Yeah, because I am calling from my land line!"
"can you call me from your cell?"
"No, I have no service on my couch, and it is 15° outside and I don't want to freeze."

Funny thing is my one son has T-Mobile, and when he comes to visit, he has no service unless he is in the garage, this 8 years after the fact.

When I was looking into cell service years ago VoiceStream Wireless, (predecessor to T-Mobile), couldn't even hit my town, and the company I worked for needed me to have a cell phone. Ended up with Cingular for the same reason you described. They were the only one that I could get service in my house. This was 20 something years ago. AT&T bought out Cingular, so I've had them ever since. I can connect to cell service from Verizon on my work phone from them, but data doesn't work in the house. My Verizon 5G work phone goes to 4G at home.

You live in God's country, there is more wildlife than people. I live in Dundalk, Baltimore City! Much of our wildlife uses cell phones. ;)

No nearby tower, no service. I'm sorry to hear you got terrible customer service, words won't improve your signal. I often travel to Fredirick and beyond. T-Mobile has a few holes between Baltimore, Fredrick, and the surrounding areas.

I've had ATT, Verizon and finally, T-Mobile. From my experience they all have holes in their coverage.
Louis, the new gateway won’t change anything on your computers other than the access name.
Thank you, my grandson said the same thing. And he told me the Apps are saved on my TVs, no worries.

I was worried, I got to have Peacock so I can watch the Blacklist!

It's hard even for me to believe that I once built hundreds of my own brand of computers, Bruette Computers. A lot has changed in thirty years. Me more than anything else, I'm slipping, and I got lazy. First my son took over the technical things, now my grandson.

Good afternoon, all! We awoke to 82 degrees with a feels like of 94, humidity 90%. Excessive heat waring issued at 3:50 AM. We are awaiting the AC guy now. The compressor unit made a very strange sound yesterday morning. It hasn't done it again and the AC is working, but I would like to have it checked out. Only 2 years old. Can you say warranty?

Mowed yesterday, lots of water breaks made it take a lot longer than usual.

We have been using AT&T for, guessing, 20 years. I, we have never had an issue that would make us look elsewhere.

Trains, nothing to report. In fact it's been a couple of days since I last ren them.

STAY SAFE
LATER

Afternoon All,

Started out the day hot and humid as normal for here. Drove Dad to the VA this morning and suprise, suprise 😲 he was actually seen on time. This clinic always runs late. After getting home I ate lunch then went to Wally World for some groceries with MOH. After that I'm done for the day. Tomorrow I'm driving up to see my buddy Jon.

Willie- It's great that you're home but concerning they couldn't figure out what was bleeding. I assume they ruled out internal hemorrhoids along with everything else. Anyway, it's great to have you back.

Smudge- Neat video.

Sherrel- I see that Anchor Steam Beer is going out of business. I drank a few of those during SF port visits in the late 80's.

Gary- Nice catch.

Louis- Awesome family photo.😍

I hope everyone has a good night.

Sherrel, $119.32 was the last In n Out bill I paid, when several of us went to Parrish for the air and rail museums. There were 8 of us, and it was in 2008, but still…
Holy Fries, Batman ... that's $15 for each?
Everyone must have had a triple! Burger, fries, drink is only $7 thereabouts today.

There is a joint called 'Habit' next to HD that has the largest sandwich I have had. It sells for about 12-14 dollars - believe me - it is worth it! Wife and I will slit one every now and then, but we have to eat separate: First, she gets the teeth and then I get them.

Speeking of HD - A sign posted in the paint department: Men picking colors of paint must have a signed note from wife!

Anyone here know what type of slip coupling I would need to insert this T coupling into a n existing water drainpipe. After all the rain we had a few days ago I needed to add another downspout to our gutter system.
Swal

I went to Home Depot they were no help. I guess the only way to connect the pipes after installing the T is a 4 inch rubber coupling. Back to Home Depot I go.

CURT - Last evening the menu had 17 craft beers and Coors Lite! I do not care for craft beers and don't care for Coors Lite, so I ordered a vodka tonic, and then another, and then another .. Brother in Law was driving - LOL

Louis- Awesome family photo.😍
Sure is!

I'm kind of lost - existing drain pipe in the ground?

We have a Habit Burger across the parking lot from out In-N-Out. We've been there once. It was good, but in our mind not worth the money. They do have some interesting sides though and they were very good. But I'll just park on the other side of the parking lot and go to In-N-Out.

4x4 animal style, protein style, extra onions. No fries :( . Medium drink (non sugar)
