The magic part under the whatsits the pixies live in while they make the 3D models
I think he might mean "what model, pixel size and overall size" is the one on your printer. The typical LCD screens are considered to be something of a disposable/replaceable item, with a usable life of only several hundred hours. But they are also found on quite a few different brands of printers too, and when I last checked about a year ago, they weren't terribly expensive. Maybe US $35 or so for a baseline 2K printer.

If you aren't sure which one, or if you can't find a number in your manual (assuming you can even find your manual), most 3D printing forums will point you in the right direction. And in most cases you can download, too, your printer's manual off the web. Amazon is one good place to start on that, because if your printer is still available there, you will often find links to download the user manual at the lower left of the printer's main screen. Typically with a blue link, instead of the normal black text.

At the top you can often find a link too to the mfg. store: Visit the AnyCubic store, or visit the Elegoo store, etc. Those will often have the manuals available for download too, and perhaps links to spare parts...like screens. :D

Thanks for poking me. I went around Elegoo, and found the replacement two places. Check the manufacturer (duh!) But that is Chitu-systems. And dealing with them is like dealing with a mob boss. After they attempted to leverage their market dominance and force everyone to use their $100/year subscription slicer or else no printing, I'd prefer not to give them any more money.

Elegoo publically stood up to them and helped negotiate that down a few levels to where Lychee and other slicers could purchase user licenses. Still, I'm moving into open-source printers

Alibabba is the another place I've found it new. And at $112 US. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803978279674.html

So... do I spend the $100+ for the screen, and mess with updating firmware and hope it works? Or, roll the replacement cost of the screen into this bad boy? I've got it on pre-order, and I'm in the queue, awaiting shipment in Aug. I just have to limp through til then. I'll probably sell the Saturn off AS IS when the Mars 4 Ultra shows up.

Fortunately, I'm mostly caught up on printing for my games. Just some odds and ends.

Good morning from my little part of a thankfully wet State of WIsconsin. My rain gauge, the old beaker kind, showed between 10AM when I made sure it was empty to 3:30PM when I emptied 2.25” of rain. It was a nice steady rainfall that started around 10:15 till 3 when it stopped. Desperately needed rain in these parts but more is still needed.

Terry will be home tonight for a wake Friday of the hubby for one of her friends

Off to the pool
enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Cloudy and a quite warm 84°. Raindrops on the back porch and radar indicating a heavier shower less than 2 miles SE. Unfortunately that's moving away. But possibilities exist that it might expand out to here. Expecting 106° today with heat warnings.

Sorting through my extensive list of things to do after my scary five day ordeal. I had to first clear out some rotten tomatoes that unfortunately went past their prime; into the compost pile they went. There's a bunch that will have to be processed in the next 2-3 days. I'll take the easy way out and just make tomato sauce and convert to salsa and spaghetti sauce when needed. Saves time right now. I still have the downed pool shade umbrellas out there and the damn stove that we have to light manually, but it's all just time-consuming stuff. Postponing the weekly grocery trek until tomorrow while we sort out what's still needed and what's still left.
Pre-measurement for cataract surgery is next Tuesday. Missed a doctor's appointment this week with my primary care guy. but that's been rescheduled for next Wednesday. I will spend a lot of time re-synching prescription requirements and catching him up to date. There's some conflicting advice and I trust him best.

Speaking of the ordeal, my trust in the hospital system was further eroded this week by the "catheter episodes". At an early point, we discussed putting a catheter in place to eliminate the constant need to unhook/hook back all of the various IV's, oxygen, heart and other monitors, etc; every time I needed to pee. OK I thought, it would also be convienient for me not to have to deal with it. The female nurse installed it; soon afterward it started leaking, soaking the sheet and pad beneath me. A male nurse chided her and apparently reminded her that he had told her in the past that she had to shave males first. So off it came and she shaved, cleaned everything up and put a new one on. OK, no leaks. About an hour later, I asked her why this one didn't "gurgle" like the first one did. She then realized that she failed to turn the vacuum on, which promptly filled the jar, which had to be replaced. Meanwhile, she, the male nurse and my wife (the instigator) were laughing and joking about the whole process (including my goods) at my expense. No problem because it was effective from then on. However it is quite unnerving right now to reach down and handle a bald member, that will soon turn to stubble !@#$%&*:eek:o_O.

Didn't go out to the train shed yesterday, as that will wait for me. A real shower and my own bed took priority. I went to sleep around 7:30 and finally got up at 5:30, albeit with three bathroom/hydration breaks. Slept like a log.

Comments from many posts that I missed.
Patrick - I am jealous of you're being able to leave tomatoes on the vine until full ripeness, I tend to pick when almost fully red but still firm before insects.birds can pierce the skin.
Karl - Neat picture of the fruit stand last Sunday.
Mac - Loving all of your pictures, too many to single out any one in particular.

I haven't gotten all that far in catching up here in the Coffee Shop, and definitely not the forum in general, but I still have some recovery to do health wise; so I will leave you for now. Pictures will resume in a couple of days along with additional postings and comments.

Everybody have a great day.

There is something called a salt chlorine generator. It is inline after the salt holding tank and filters into the pool. I have used water softener salt on 2 pools now and haven’t had any issues. It is Solar salt and the same stuff I buy for the softener. I know the salt chlorine generator cost around $3000 plus install, but after a few seasons the savings generated over liquid chlorine start to turn. Remember the lap pool is used all year. The generator is supposed to last around 9 years but we haven’t been at a place that long. 3 years on the first pool. Salt water is corrosive so no metal in the pool and the ladders we have are extruded plastic. There are no lights inside either the lap pool or play pool.

Almost all the pool install people around here when doing the quote recommended the salt water for my lap pool. It is tested on Tuesdays and Fridays for chemical balance.

Edit. now you got me researching! I can’t link the article but here’s a screen shot of the page you can find the answer about using water softener Solar salt in a swimming pool. Short answer Solar salt for a water softener is ok in the pool

Tom I read that whole blog and they have more negative to say then positive about water softener salt
quote from that blog

" If you have a saltwater pool, you should use pool salt. It is because water softener salt can damage the cells in your pool’s filtration system.

So, if you’re not sure which type of salt crystal to use, go with pool salt. It’s a little bit more expensive, but it’s the safer option for your swimming pool. "

Also you say you add salt once a month I think you said 50# or so why is that ?? Salt does not evaporate unless you dump a lot of water out
Once the salt is at about 3,000ppm it's good for maybe a year or more And what's the purpose of a salt holding tank salt dissolves in the water very quickly or should
any way here's a site with some more info https://www.swimuniversity.com/how-much-pool-salt/

I found out pool salt is the same as used in salt water aquariums and you would never use softener salt in fish tank

Morning from LA-LA land! 68 to start - looking for 92 later, but the "experts" missed at 96 yesterday!

The drive to San Marcos was uneventful for the SIL's Birthday bash. Dinner and cake was at a "expensive" seafood place where the cheapest entree' was 30.00 resulting in an overall bill of $119.32. I would have been just as happy with 'In and Out' hamburgers, fries, plus a milkshake.
Long story short - I had grilled catfish, the Spousal Unit had grilled calamari. The very nice homemade rolls and butter resulted in each of us eating too much and summing up : All was very nice.

WILLIE : Happy to see that you are up and around; however, I am concerned for you. Definitely something caused those events - be careful?

I made a Primary DR appointment - first date available is AUG 8th. My BP and HR has been bumping the dangerous low side and a few times below the danger line. I looked at my meds and with the exception of a couple vitiams, the're 5 of them that say they lower BP. A couple days back I started halving some of them and have seen better readings but I thought I should see the DR and let him sort it out with the heart and vascular people?
It is no wonder that I have been fatigued and exhausted even climbing the stairs in the house.

Have some prep to do today for our upcoming Bunco bash this Sat!

Watched the All-Star game last evening - a good game, but I would like to have seen more runs scored and lots more base running action. So the National League finally got the win - it had been 10 plus years for them.
I would have liked it better had there been two fewer runs and an American League victory! The Orioles' closer Felix Bautista grooved one and that was that! Good hitters don't miss many pitcher's mistakes.

On the bright side The Orioles' Austin Hayes got his first All Star game start and his first hit!

Poor picture quality as I was across the road, but the CN staff have been ‘hard at er’ clearing up a small derailment here in Halifax the last couple of days. Looks to me like some cars jumped the rails in the staging yard. I suspect it was the 3 weeks of rain affected tracks.
