Oh no Willie! Prayers for speedy recovery my friend!!Good afternoon from hospital bed somewhere in Texas. Went to the ER at 2000 last night with chest pain
Moved to another location at 0400 this morning. Good news is it's not a heart attack. Bad news is that I'm still here. Suspected bleeding ulcer. I was given 2 liters of blood. Upper GI tomorrow.
Can't type on this small keyboard. Will update when I get home.

Skunks are cute. Had an encounter once near Horseshoe Curve. My friend and i were walking the tracks toward our car and there was a mother with five little ones crossing the tracks. The little ones didn't have much experience i guess and three of them got stuck inside the gauge between rails not knowing what to do. Mother with two crossed and was watching us from the distance and we were trying to guide the three to open spots between ties where the ballast was low enough for them to squeeze under the rail. The three little ones sometimes would stuck their asses toward us, then they changed their minds and were thinking we were daddys and would come to our feet. After some time we managed to guide them under the rail and thankfully no train came.Afternoon All,
Started out with a walk at 78F and very humid but luckily there was a slight breeze. After breakfast we headed north to pick up the newest family member. We made it home around 2 pm. At least we made it home before the lightning and thunder going on now. Hopefully we will finally get some rain here. I'm not sure what's on the agenda for tomorrow. Thursday, I have to take Dad to the VA and Friday and Saturday I'm visiting friends.
Mac- Nice catch. I hope you enjoyed the excursion.
Louis- I believe that Garry had a converted diner car to a chapel car.
Joe- Great photo. The RS1 is my favorite diesel loco.
Troy- It looks like you are a paragon of 3-D printing.
Bob- Poor Rocky.
TomO- If you are putting water tubes on the roof to heat water for the pool you really need to keep an eye on them. That kind of set up is what caused the 40K worth of water damage to the house and it required me to tear down the old layout.
Here is the newest addition to the household. This is Stormy, a classic B&W female skunk.

I wish Willie a speedy recovery, but I had a dyslexic moment and read Gary's post as:Get better Willie! Looking forward to you being back at modelling!
This bridge that a club member built is Micro Engineering He went through a few kits to build it. Same problem you're have and he had some pieces warp on him too.Work on the Micro Engineering bridges is coming along slowly. They are super realistic bridges, but damn fragile!
Get well soon Willie.Good afternoon from hospital bed somewhere in Texas. Went to the ER at 2000 last night with chest pain

My poor Rocky. He was being an ass yesterday morning, probably harassing another cat and ended up the loser. He broke his lower fang. After a few hundred dollars later, he’s on the mend. His pain meds makes him a little stoned though!View attachment 171475
Curt. No water tubes on the roof of any buildings. The lap pool is 8‘ above the panels on the south facing hillside below. Those panels have the tubes running through them. We did need a few extra horse power on the pump to push the water back uphill. The pump is run off battery power as is the whole property including the stables. This is the third house off grid (minus fiber internet connections) we have had. This will be the 1st of the 3 houses without Mr. Hucksters (elon) solar tiles that just never seemed to work right. The Powerwalls though are wonderful!Afternoon All,

We had a choice for flat plate collection. Water enters at top of the units in a tube like a sprinkler hose. Openly pours down the collector plate to a bottom trough then flows to the filters and pumps. The sun will heat the water directly. So, "yes".
That technology usually uses "evacuated" tubes (vacuum based IIRC) and allows the sun to heat up the water even on a cold day. I don't quite understand how it works but I looked into it for our household water. But the plumber said that the tech didn't catch on. He was one of the main guys doing installs in this area and had it on his own house but said t never reached critical mass and was hard to find parts for and competent people to work on it -- few of his current crew could do it -- he said if he were to do it again he'd use extra PV solar panels (normal electric ones) to drive an electric hot water heater as that tech was getting cheaper and better year by year while the evacuated tube tech was stagnating.
Here is one vendor in Australia that explains in general how it works: https://apricus.com.au/evacuated-tube-solar-hot-water-systems/
Wow, Willie! Not good no matter the cause is. Hospitals suck, I know I have stayed enough times. Listen to what they say and follow directions. Get well, get homeGood afternoon from hospital bed somewhere in Texas. Went to the ER at 2000 last night with chest pain
