A point was made about a woman led in Star Wars not being good

ihave cringed over so many stories where the woman women leads ruin stuff for me
ghostbusters original funny woman version so cringy and how the Thor actor did not barf playing his part astounds me but I suppose his bank account held any sick bag

i am also sick sick sick of the police army having tiny women especially if wearing glasses or really short blokes

the UK RAF has admitted they turned away white male tall intelligent in order to have diversification
good luck if we go to war the lack wits

there are times when a woman is as capable as a man but any sensible woman knows that physically she is outclassed by a taller bloke
hence my other half teaching me how to defend myself
as a non squeamish person doing sone of the things he mentioned would be perfectly within my mindset
woe the man fool enough to test my resolve

do not run
get you face as close to theirs as possible they will likely do that for you and bite ear nose lip and if really stupid tongue spit don’t swallow
i have twice used the wearing high heels and been touched up move backwards step on toe lift other foot et pound weight on a itty bitty heel causes pig stealing noises

one is now redundant as no longer car keys but eyes if possible otherwise aim for the zip wiggles eye brows
husbands attitude is if I am in the poor position of defending myself anything is reasonable

one occasion we,I mean like eight of us ,came outside from a nightclub,to find a girl fighting off a bloke , he ended up battered by handbags, feet , shoes were removed and used stilettos were fashionable at the time, scratches ,he was bitten , not by me ,and by the time two bouncers came out called the police I think he was happy to be stuffed in their car, surprisingly police did not want our names just took statement from the girl with the ripped blouse he attacked

Good Morning All, again. It's now 79° under mostly cloudy skies. Only expected to get to 93° today after just 98° yesterday. The heat dome here wasn't quite as bad as predicted this past week, basically staying 2-3 degrees lower than predicted. Still was over 100° from Sunday through Thursday. There seems to be scattered rain on the radar, both west and north of here. As light as it looks on the radar, it may not be hitting the ground. Didn't think to check the AQI until Karl mentioned it, but ours is 31. Kinda low considering our proximity to the urban pollutants coming from both Dallas and Ft Worth, and the usually prevailing wind from the south.

Yesterday I picked more tomatoes, I had to get out a reserve bowl to put them in before I finally used about 20# to make salsa. View attachment 171015
The yield is 5 pints plus another half cup that didn't get canned.

I used a new recipe this time around, with more Purple Onion and extra Cilantro. Otherwise the usual Tomatoes, Garlic, red & green Bell Peppers, Jalapenos, and Limes. I still have some clean up to do today, the food processor bowl which my wife usually cleans has been soaking in the sink overnight and the pressure canner is still out, but it has been cleaned. I call it a recipe, but I really didn't measure anything except knowing how much the Tomatoes weighed which determined how many jars/lids/rings to prepare. There's still over 80# of Tomatoes left which will be ripe enough to preserve by Monday of my four day weekend! Note to self: Put tortilla chips on the grocery list instead of using Fritos!:(

No word yet from the family down in Puerto Vallarta, regarding the Hurricane Beatriz. I misspelled that name yesterday! While I think that they will get a lot of rain, I don't think that the high winds will hit there, but further north.

While I did spend some time out in the train shed yesterday, none of it was modeling time. I call it "infrastructure Friday". I removed the trash, took the paper/cardboard out to the burn barrel, replenished the beer fridge, re-stacked the full soft drink and beer cartons while removing the empties, changed out two fluorescent tubes, kinda sorta rearranged the tree making materials on a new shelf and finally consolidated the stacks of unbuilt freight car kits. Almost all of this activity required bending and squatting which worsened the sciatica a bit. Next move was to the pool with a couple of cold ones.
I use the pool to relax in, here's how some of my little people relax on the layout.

Sherrel - Nice looking turtle. I doubt that she'll keep the yard mowed down, so watch for her when you cut the grass.
Tom O - Nothing gives away the look of a Pikestuff structure than their standard roof vents. I use them sometimes, but I have a whole lot more than I need in the parts drawer.

For our friends up north (except Guy who doesn't celebrate holidays), have a Happy Canada Day today.
Everybody have a great day and be safe and cool.
Not canned anything yet this year but I still have some where we did masses of fruit and honey pears is a favourite, and I may still ignore the Keto and scoff one accidentally 😙 almost burnt one lot and the resulting toffee flavour was very popular I have a hidden marker on it lol
first time we tried this was 2017 plus homemade custard and perhaps crumble topping was very poular should look at a Keto option picking blush gooseberries at the moment slightly early but the birds have found them

Flowing modeling juices and feeling good. More parts for the engine house. Vents, gas meters, electrical, down spouts and a couple junction boxes for electrical coming into the building.

Other than the down spouts these parts were clear coated a Matt finish. Now for some hand painting
IMG_0479.jpeg
now I am unsure of the blue building walls. Maybe a Sky color# xf21 by Tamiya with a #xf12 JN Gray stripe?

Base coat of aluminum color #xf16 is applied

Dang my #1 Strength of Adaptability... I am so flighty on my hobby stuff.

Trying to finish my army of Dwarves. Was then going to move on to the army of goblins...

But the magically animated undead known in the game as "Night Stalkers" has really been nagging at me to begin working on them. So, bought an army box for them last week. Some of the scarecrow models (Yes, animated ghostly scarecrows to attack the enemy with) don't have near enough cool pumpkin heads. The other heads are meh!

So 3d printing to the rescue.

Punkins.jpg

The dirigibles and the giant ravens are air support for the Dwarven fleet of sailing ships. The rest are all punkin heads.

I guess I should go finish up the dwarves. These scarecrows are notorious for not painting themselves.

Oh, and I decided to make Corn Chowder for dinner. It's crocking now. Today is a rainy grey day (AQI of 79, but I hope the rain this week will wash out a bunch of Canadian Tree Smoke.

Good afternoon. It's mostly sunny and 90, with a feels like of 114 and an air quality alert for excess ozone.
We only have another 4 months of this to go before it cools into the 80s again...
I did manage to get a pair of decoders to install in two SD60s over this coming weekend. Since they're basically drop-ins, it shouldn't be a huge ordeal, unless I manage to do something stupid, like apply 120 volts to them.

Good Morning!

It's going to be a busy day mowing and cleaning up the yard following the holiday. We never saw a drop of rain on the west coast our entire trip, but it seems to have rained torrents here at home. The yard is a jungle right now.

Not going to bore you with a bunch of holiday photos. I just want to show the difference in weather conditions as we ventured toward Vancouver Island.
This is what it looked like crossing the Rockies in Alberta, the day we left:
View attachment 171018

The BC side of the Rockies was when we hit the sunshine, and the sun stayed with us the entire trip:
View attachment 171019

Vancouver Island was sunny and very warm the entire trip. It was kinda like being in paradise, if your a land-lubber from NW Alberta.

Turns out, I wasn't able to get a whole bunch of railroad photos as I intended. The wife had other tourist stuff in mind.
I did manage to stop here and there to snap the odd photo if it was convenient.
This is part of the CN yard in Squamish, BC. Looks more like a boneyard:

I've spent a wee bit of time looking into the nature of that Rivarossi 4-6-2 that I bought in an antique shop.
It seems the model is called the Rivarossi Blue Comet. If it was actually in existence, I don't know who built them, but, they were known as the Heavy Pacific.
Mine does run. It kinda stutters in slow speed, but the stuttering chug disappears when you open it up a-bit.
Here's an internet photo of the very exact same model that I purchased:

I still don't have time to take photos of mine, but will sometime soon. For only $75.00, I believe it was a good buy.

Anyway, I'd better make tracks. It's back to walk the dog, mow the lawn and other chores; plus the honey-do list, etc,etc,etc...

Have a great day, everyone!!
Looks like USRA "Heavy Pacific". With small changes it can deffinitely look like B&O engine. Jersey Central had similar but theirs were with Wooten fireboxes.

Where is the EPA on this? All they have to do is to "outlaw" forest fires - and then the planet will cool!

Why not do both! (tongue in cheek)

Good morning to JULY! FLO, Grits with two eggs up on top and patti sausage.Hard to believe that the year ios half gone so quic kly. I already don't like the days getting shorter either.

60 degrees here with an expected 94 ... yesterdays 90 high grew into 94 as well.
I succeeded in programing MLB into the "new"(open box) TV. and then proceeded to become hooked on the Padres/Reds game which went 11 innings - good game with score being tied most of the time, with like scoring in the same inning - I won't bore you.

The Spousal Un it has informed me that we have to put the house in order for daughter and herm two G-sons coming tomorrow for 5 days - them Okinawa daughter wiith two G-sons will arrive the 8th or 9th. Anyway, I asked her why - they will just "wreck" it again?

Kriegslok (henceforth) to be called MAC! Nice pic pretty of the T-1, but I favor the smaller Consolidation.

I see that I am stuck on bold AGAIN!
EDIT -- Using the edit I managed to drop the former "Bold".
Here's few more of those Consolidation picks:

Looks like you're one of the few who understands. Here in the States same thing, men are disregarded in the name of diversity and who is supposed to defend when enemy comes.

Interestingly enough, I got chased out of the garden by a light rain shower. One does not work around wet Tomato plants due to the risk of spreading fungus diseases. Before I left, I did pick quite a few more Tomatoes.
The three containers nearest the camera.
IMG_3736.JPG

My table is now covered with Tomatoes and the granddogs dog food.
By the way, note the table itself. I made that myself in 1976 from 2"x 8" and 2"x 10" planks salvaged from discarded patio door glass crates from work at the time. Tom O would recognize them.
I do not normally plant and grow Carrots since my soil is a heavy clay; haven't in over ten years and only sporadically before then. But I decided to give them a try this year. I planted two 4' partial rows spaced about 21 days apart. I harvested the first partial row about two weeks ago, and the remainder this morning.
IMG_3734.JPG

While these will last 3 months in the fridge, I am going to pressure can 3-4 pints, since I already have this many stored in there. If I lived in an area where "root cellars" were feasible, they along with onions, beets, potatoes, turnips and other root crops would last 6-9 months easily. They do lose some of their "crunchiness" when canned, but my wife can use them for soups that she makes a lot of.

I doubt there is anything more resourceful than a single Mother. I witnessed my Mom doing everything from working three jobs to home improvement. Between my sisters and I we had two deadbeat fathers. My Mom was guilty of making bad choices, but she never backed down from her responsibilities.

My second wife was a single mother. I have never met a more intelligent, hardworking, and dedicated person in my life. To top it all off she is beautiful. Don't ask me how I got so lucky, I don't know!

Since I was eleven years old, I have not been afraid of any man. A man with any honor at all can't win against a woman. The best you can hope for if she gets physical is that she wears herself out trying to hurt you. Even then you look stupid.

War is seldom hand to hand. I can only think of one bayonet charge by the US Army in WWII. In most cases the only strength you need is to be able to pull a trigger. Even my daughter qualified as a Marksman in Army basic training. I still find that hard to believe, but I saw her marksmanship badge! I wanted her to be a doctor and she was qualified. The Army wanted to send her to medical school. No, she chooses to be a combat medic. I'd be dammed if I would let people shoot at me while I tried to administer first aid!

I feel the same way, LOUIS, kudos for expressing it so well! (I just have to change the second to the third)!

BTW -- We named the tortoise, WALDO, as in Where's Waldo?

The new BBQ grill and the new TV busted my budget for the month -- again!
Did manage to find 12 pks of diet DP -- 4 for $15.00 limit 2. I grabbed 2.

My observation in real life is that the dark blue on these types of buildings, quickly fades to a sky blue in the Texas summertime sun.
Thanks for the observation Willie. I was just trying to avoid the Pikestuff standard blue on the layout. But, other than the previous conveyor belt blues in the old Paper Mill, I had no other blue colors on the layout. So I threw a light fade on the walls and if I ever get around to weathering the metal building that blue should not be that noticeable, I hope. There will be a gray stripe on the 2 long sidewalks as I have taped it off and clear coated the tape

Afternoon All,

Started out the day with a walk at 75F and as usual getting a feel like temps of 100+. I did a couple of outside chores while it was "cool". In the train room/garage today I finished 44 trees and planted them and trimmed and painted the next 22. I've completed putting trees on the right side and peninsula, so I only have the left side to do. I figure another 40-60 trees will finish the job. I'll do a short video when I'm done.

Patrick- Glad the movie wasn't crap like so many these days.

Guy- Welcome back. My first steamer was a Rivarossi 2-8-8-2 with the pizza cutter wheels that did not play well with code 83 track at the club. I didn't have a layout at the time.

Mac- Neat photo.

Jazz- I think our military is getting to the point (manpower) that if you can remember your name 2 out of 3 times, you're in. The Navy wanted their recruiters to work 6 days a week. So much for shore duty. I think it's mainly a sign of our society. SMH. (Not a political statement).

TomO- Nice progress on the engine house.

I hope everyone has a good night.

I missed the grill, what kind did you get? Did you get the TV setup? Roku has lots of free channels!

LOUIS, Just a cheap model (figure it will outlast me). It is a Dyna Glow from HD with 3 burners plus a searing burner. Old grill was 20 YO and even my homemade diffuser had bit the dust!
TV is working fine with the MLB and Roku + apps; it is the U-Tube TV sign in that is giving me fits.
I am going to try again for the umpteement time (the app is on two other TV's, but my electronic feeble mind is outsmarting me? If I don't get to watching another BB game on MLB - I may concor it.

From my observation the Military is being "dumbed down" right along with the schools and everything else! Most cannot even find Ukraine or Taiwan on a map.

Cheap is good! Food tastes no different cooked on an overpriced grill.

Let the grandkids make short work of the YouTube setup.

Where's Waldo?
