School me a bit.

There's an estate sale coming up with a bunch of train stuff. Pictures show some blue box along with a bunch of Life-like and tyco. I kind of like the Blue box as they are a bit heavier than some, but do I want to completely avoid the Life-like and Tyco or were some better than others? My opinion is to leave the Tyco and Life-like, pick up some of the Blue Box, but...Pictures show building kits and some misc. I do have a bunch of various cars in a couple of drawers in the train room I know I'll never use. I'll go look anyway as there's some glassware the wife wants to look into for one of the daughters.

Jaz: FWIW, the feathered rodents cleaned my blueberries as well, most before they even hinted at being blue.

Moremusic - Very sorry to hear of your loss. As Guy and others have said, "Stand Tall".

TomO - tks for the compliment; she is a keeper in more than her looks!

JeffH -- Lovely pup - a real beauty!

TOM in NY -- really good looking ballast work!

GUY - your oil company buildings are coming along nicely - look good!

WILLIE -Man do those tomatoes look good; I think I can taste one!

TROY - Giving away zucchini is an art all to itself. That is so true! I had five plants in K.C. and bushels of squash! My first wife's dad pushed my son down the street in the stroller giving zucchini to everyone he met!

C SCAN is out of the way and the Heart Doctor called on a telephone visit saying that the Echo Gram was a success and that I could live to a hundred.

Evening All,

I feel like we've been running all day. Stated out getting Dad to the airport at 4:15 am. Waited until he called and told us he was on the plane. After getting home (about 6:30) we took a couple hour nap. After that we had to go to Kohl's, get fuel, and Wal-Mart. After that I put together a bookcase (kind of) because knocked a piece of the wall off. It's glued and clamped overnight. After that I sorted my PRRT&HS quarrterly publications (what the book case is for). After that I got a phone call from Dad saying he had forgotten his Insulin (3rd time for this). and wanting it overnighted to him. It only cost $108 (he paid). From there we went to Publix and got chicken for supper. I hope I sleep well tonight. Tomorrow SIL and I start the shower repair.

Guy- I like the color on the metal. It reminds me of a oily surface. The motel sure brings back a bunch of motel stays.

Smudge- All valid points. Looks like you're making good progress.

Gary- Great find. Is that the Atlantic or a lake?

Willie- Nice layout shot and job on the building. Is a hot shot like highballing?

Tom- I should probably know this but what does the dark areas represent?

TomO- Great looking roofs.

Moermusic- I'm very sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family.

Jeff- I hope your knee feels better. Your dog is a cutie.

Ken (D&J)- Sounds like a great trip.

Ken (IL)- Hopefully you eye feels better soon.

Patrick- It's a great feeling to have a paid off house.

Dave- That's 100% more garden than I have. Great looking caboose. Is that a AMB/Laserkit?

Sherrel- Beautiful wife. Thank you. The only sports I watch is college football.

I hope everyone has a good night.

I guess if your "job" is making YT videos for your legions of followers, it is invested time...

I think this guy is a professional YTer and has a bunch of other far out videos of stuff he has done in "science and engineering".
Forgive my ignorance, but what is a professional You Tuber? Do folks actually pay to see content? I know nothing! I only see stuff there when there is a link from this forum.

Yep... former Engineer at NASA...

Now he does stuff like putting out fake packages for porch pirates to grab. the insides are loaded with recording cell phones transmitting their vids back to him, spinning glitter bombs and fart spray for the unsuspecting thieves.

He's even worked with some of the anti-spammer hackers that take down the Scammer-call centers in India.... they had a good video with cockroaches, and one of the fart-spray cellphone gizmos...

PS, Fat Gus from the squirrel video is my spirit animal. Well, except for the getting pregnant part...

You know those annoying adds you see - whether it's on screen text, or a in-stream video?

Yes, pro youtubers get a cut of that money.

If you see someone with a silver plaque in the background of their video: Here's my political Spirit Animal: Beau (from where I get the Howdy there internet people line)... They have a lot of subscribers.... and that's a lot of eyes on advertising.

To left of screen is his silver plaque. That means he hit at least 100,000 subscribers to his channel? (I looked it up). A Gold Plaque means 1 million subscribers. There is also one for 10 Mill and one higher than that.

Business model is to put out regular content and get a cut of the ad revenue. Ron of Ron's Trains & Things, and Steve Brown both have that business model going. Ron is closing in on 50,000 subs, so half-way to his silver

I guess that those folks don't like my AdBlock Plus!

Does your AdBlock plus work on you tube? My Ad Block does not but I don’t have Plus Version

They start making decent money at 10,000 subscribers and as Troy wrote the more subscribers the better. Luke Towan on you tube who I believed was the best of the model railroaders on you tube with best production and tutorials when he hit a Million subscribers moved to diorama modeling but now only rarely trains. They do have paid subscribers called patrons who generally get more content for a certain amount of monthly payments.

It works for the online blocks of text ads, but not the before and after (or even mid stream video based ads)

I went to premium youtube just to avoid the ads. And the content creators still get a few pennies of that fee every month.
