Afternoon All,

Started out with some chores then spent most of the day in the train room. I finished the road and parking lot. Put the vehicles, people and details around the mine in points. I also started putting down coal alongside tracks and will finish that tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm scheduled for a haircut also.

James- Nice looking loco.

Tom- Beautiful sunset.

Joe- I hope you get your eyesight resolved. Nice 1:1 photos.

Gary- Beautiful station and quite large. Your modeling efforts look great to me.

Willie- Nice scenes.

TomO- I hope you feel better.

Jeff- I hope you get over Covid quickly.

Guy- Even our 2 skunks have a built in alarm clock. Great photos. Great photos.

Troy- I hope your foot feels better soon.

Good afternoon. I am back home after a session at the cardio center of the UW Health system. I called this morning to set up an appointment and they had one today! So I took it. Did a chemically induced stress test instead of getting killed on a treadmill. They didn’t keep me so nothing drastic yet. They are trying to find the cause of the light headedness when I stand up. This is part of the Covid program they entered me in over the weekend.

He son called from Duluth, Minnesota and doubts he’ll get home tonight. He will drop his sister off in Fall Creek, Wi. and if it’s too late will stay at their place overnight.

enjoy the rest of the day

It was Halifax’s train station until it was destroyed by the Halifax Explosion. It was used for a couple more years after the explosion, but replaced by another station closer to downtown.
EDITED.
That was in what ? 1917? something to do with a collision in the harbour I think. Sounds like it had a interesting life, I'll look it up, thanks.

Hey Everybody,

I've been keeping up with the posts, for the most part. I always enjoy many of the pictures posted, thank you!

I hope those who are not feeling well get better soon.

I've been in a "funk". The only thing I have been consistently able to concentrate on is work. Not even the Orioles 10 game winning streak has been able to distract me for long.
Now my sleep is disrupted, that almost never happens.
I have not seen my grandsons since the 4th. My boys are busy having fun, camp and boating. Enjoying life on the upper Chesapeake! That's all good and for the best. I miss them, they always take my mind off other things. We still have one more episode of "Stranger Things" to watch together. The strange thing is, I enjoy the show too!
My friend Willy who is still in the hospital is steadily improving. Since I took him a smoked chicken breast on the 4th he has been eating. He is eating well enough that they have removed the feeding tube. His health is not the problem. The problem is the drama with his family.
The more I learn about people living in his house (his wife, nephew, nephew's baby mama and their boy) the more bewildered I become. I suspect everything from abuse, neglect, theft, fraud to drug use. Willy and his wife are the innocent victims.
His wife is the sweetest lady, as gentle as a lamb, but not the brightest. A true stereotypical beautiful blond. Right under her nose Willy has lost two ford pickup trucks, smart phone, his entire gun collection, his checking account is almost empty and only God knows what else!
I've been trying to tell Willy what i suspect has been happening, but he trusts his nephew's baby mama. He believes all her lies. She acts like mother of the year. I suspect she is more like Ma Barker.
I would write a check if I thought it would solve the problems. The money I have given them has only fueled their madness. Only drug use can burn up that much money that fast.
I don't want to upset Willy, only recently has his depression improved.
Willy had a stoke over a year ago. I only recently found out he had been suffering with depression. I knew he had struggled with diminished mental capacity, but he returned to work. He just had trouble remembering things. I did not know how bad things were and he would never say anything, neither did his wife, until yesterday. She finally told me how much they have struggled since his stroke.
On the bright side, his mind is sharp again. I wonder if his out of control blood sugar had interfered with his mind?
As soon as i got involved i could "smell a rat". I know first hand the signs and symptoms of drug abuse. As much as I don't want to, I turned to the authorities. I feel have no other choices. If Willy gets mad at me, so be it.
No matter what, I'll be there for my friend when he gets out of the hospital. Stuff we can replace, I always have a "rainy day" cash fund. His health is most important to me now. But I can't let that bitch rob him blind before he gets out. Willy has some rare collectables that he cherishes. I only hope we can replace them if they are gone. I hope he has some insurance.
Before this is all over somebody is going to jail!
God help us all.
Sorry to vent, but this place is my only safety release valve.

Things are a little quiet this morning.
Had a little drama in my life yesterday at municipal court.
I got ticketed for rolling thru a stop sign on my way home from my middle grandson's high school graduation supper. We left early because my wife's back was only 4 weeks out of surgery. I was trying to avoid bumps and jerks, so I eased up to the stop sign and caused her to jerk when I came to a complete stop. A very young officer did not want to listen to my story, so I got to join about 50 other people at 4 PM waiting for them to open the court room. The judge was late, so they did not let anyone inside until 4:45 and only 10 at a time. The temp was only 88 degrees but typical Alabama 70 % humidity. I got inside the air conditioning about 6 PM and my attitude improved considerably.
Of course, I was the last case called just before 7 PM. The judge listened to my explanation, said I didn't look like a menace to society and dismissed my case.
Between heat and stress, I only made it until 9 PM before I went to bed. Now, I am up again, typing away here just like I had good sense.
I think I will get a big cup of coffee and see if I can finish another outhouse for the club layout.
