Afternoon - TROY - And those with foot problems.
I
Had a "huggee" plantar wort in my heel many years ago.
It finally got so large that I could not walk, or even stand to put my shoe on.
Dr. Harry - close friend - said that it had to come out! He gave me a tongue depressor to bite on, made an X cut and squeezed it like a pimple and it popped out - the size of the end of my little finger.
That was the second worse pain I have ever experienced ... I broke the tongue depressor I had bitten it so hard. Don't EVER want another!
Good luck with yours!

The weather gurus got destroyed today -- It is only 84 outside!
Way too nice to be looking at a computer - ya'll enjoy your day!

Different kind of Plantar. this is the tendon that stretches across the bottom of the foot getting aggravated. No warts involved. ;) Well except the warty-grumbler the foot is attached to.

as for crocs:

Now that is the epitome of Dad Cool. Grilling a burger on left (gas) grill with my new crocs

Surprisingly, they're helping with the plantar fasciitis. Only been wearing them for about half an hour, but walking on concrete and inside they don't get that ache with every step.
Interesting to read that they are helping. While I don't have any foot issues, Crocs are just not made for the farm type outdoor stuff that I do. New Balance walking shoes are. I do use the rubber ball technology occasionally.

If you read my morning post, SUCCESS has been achieved - within 25 minutes.

Note size - those boards are 2" x 6"!:)

I actually lived in Feuerbach for a month -- Dec 1986. Feuerbach is now a part of municipal Stuttgart but was, in the old days, its own separate village. It is separated from downtown by a chain of low hills. Where I lived was a block or two away from a very large Robert Bosch plant of some sort. We lived half way between the Feuerback and Zufenhausen S-Bahn (commuter light rail) stations. Zuffenhausen is where the Porsche HQ is and (at least at the time) their museum.
My niece got married in Monza(her hubby’s hometown) few years ago. Afterwards, my mom, sister, BIL & youngest nephew took the train up to Stuttgart to break bread with distant relatives who still live in the area. When my BIL was stationed at Heidelberg(early 2K’s), they used to get together with German relatives(I’m not sure where in Germany my BIL’s family is from, or when they emigrated to the US).

I am trying to get back to the Germany area. But not happening anytime soon. Was supposed to go in 2020 but C19 killed that trip. Last trip (besides a jaunt to Florida) was in 2019 to Japan. And Japan will be our next trip as well (we have tickets for December, the C19-gods willing).

I haven't been to Germany since Nov 2000, when the (at the time new) wife and I went for a week to the greater Munich area and a trip to Salzburg. (We did hit Sweden and Norway and Denmark in 2016 to get our Volvo -- that was fun).

I am getting a terrible case of Wanderlust hearing about all these trips people have been on.

Morning all,

Rough night, but not sure why. Getting ready for work. Headed to the office in a bit. Got to get some paperwork done for the users.

Currently a comfortable 64° and clear, going for a high about 96°.

Got to meet with the boss later as he was out yesterday. Lots to discuss as he was out yesterday.

Willie: Be sure to reset that trap. Like the Sith, there's always 2 (or more).

Well, howdy there internet MRR peeps, and Willie's dead little rat

It's Troy again

I'm up. Need to do some serious wording today and tomorrow to get the book out to the Alpha Readers who give me feedback on character and plots.

So, of course, ghosts in the garage kept waking me up.

If you've ever watched any of those ghost hunting shows, you might recognize this effect:

Our detached garage is a walled-in old carport with a flat roof. It gets super hot during the summer, so I leave the door up about a foot during the day. And I'm slowly adding crawl space vents around the top of the walls. Right now, only one is up, and the camera is right in front of it, to get wifi connection back to the house.

And my Apple watch buzzes whenever the camera senses motion. And those darn ghosts are dancing right in front of the camera. My watch only lets me snooze it for an hour. I didn't feel like going down to the basement where I left my phone, just to snooze it longer.

Yes, I know the "ghosts" are just dust or seed-puffballs dancing in the heated air escaping out the vent. Need to get another few vents and get them installed. Next week... after this book is done.

And yes, I've finagled the motion detection zones. But those ornery ghosts keep dancing all over the zones. ;)

Good morning all! 60 degrees on the way to sunny and 86. Still tired after yesterday and today will be busy too. I and my two helpers ran a bunch of network cable overhead and have some more to do today before terminating them, installing raceway and boxes, etc. There's another event going on in the same building today through Friday and I'm hoping they don't need much IT help as I really want to get the cabling project done. I was completely beat by the time I got home last night and I'm sure it'll be the same today. Have to go in early this morning due to that other event going on. Hope you all have a great day!

Actually caught the first one earlier in the month, then accidentally left the trap out in the sudden unexpected thunderstorm which ruined it. Thus having to get a new one yesterday.
We leave homemade traps out all year. It's just a bucket with about 8-10 inches of water in it. Then a yard stick as a ramp, situated so one end of the stick ends up centered above the top of the bucket. Then dangle a bottle cap filled with peanut butter from the stick. The varmint falls in and drowns. You only have to reset it if the stick gets jostled too much. I've found 5 field mice in one bucket one day. Works great!

Welp, Morning to all you Mickey and Minnie killers! Fitful time sleeping, so here I am not bushy tailed this AM. The family gathering was at the rather large Mexican Cafe for the Sister in law (Irene) birthday last evening with the Marine and family in tow; I think there were 16 of us all added up. The Spousal Unit was kind to me and paid the tariff for the 10 of us - I did not even glance at the check as I may have fainted by seeing such!
Today's excitement is attending a funeral for a relative of the family up near. San Fernando - then another funeral Friday for an airline friend - starting to lose quite a number of them and I don't like it!

I had better get on my donkey and git er done - have to be dressed to go in an hour - SWMBO will be on my tail in a few minutes.
Supposed to be another nice one today with a high of 89 it is said.

Good Morning!

Yesterday, we didn't bring the little boat to the lake. Just stood on the shore. I believe that's why we failed to catch trout.
On a day that was so warm, we needed to get into the deep where the cold water was. Trout like it cool, not 80F+.

Thank you for the help identifying that auto-rack rail car. And thankyou for the likes on my photos.

Curt - Keep posting photos of the rail crossing work, please. I'm very interested in seeing how you finish it.

DaveB - Is the slide-out heavy? I'm not sure if a hill handle-cover will be easy to hide. Perhaps some type of building over it would be easier to disguise the handle.

Smudge - Perhaps if you had the machine shop built, it would be easier to decide how to set the various buildings. Personally, I need to have things built before I start fudging them around.

Oh, oh! I've just received orders from the wife that I'm to prepare and load the boat. Guess we're going out on a fishing date today.

Before I go, here's a few Jasper photos that I like, of an ES44AC:

In this next photo, you might be able to see why the mountain in the background is called 'Old-man':

An I'm also trying to take photos that might offer background inspiration:

The wife is pushing me. Gotta go prepare the boat!!!

Have a great day!
