I leave my trucks back cab window unlocked. I can reach in a get a hidden key. How many times did I have to do this in the last 10 years many.
Swal
Kinda risky in NY isn't it? Both my Accura and Lexus will not lock if there is a key fob inside the car. Frustrating in the beginning when my wife would leave her purse inside and I couldn't lock the door, until I figured out what was going on.

Keys. I got locked out of my 05 Yukon years ago. After that I had a thin metal key made and put it behind the FRONT license plate with the screw thru the eye in the key. Did same with the 02 GMC pickup.. All I needed was a dime or my pocket knife to remove the plate. No, I dont have either vehicle anymore sad to say........

Yeah my 2016 Audi PHEV does that too. At first I was confused and frustrated as well until I figured out I was missing my keys.

(For me it wasn’t the wife with her fob in the purse left behind as we take her car when we go together most of the time. It was me, for some reason, having removed the keys from my pocket. )

This afternoon I filled my car with gas at the Flying J next door to work. For some reason, the card declined with my first attempt, but I was able to pre-auth and fill up with the second. Total was $21.40.
When I got home, I had an email from my bank, asking if I had charged $151 of gas there. No. Card is now locked.
Maybe a new kind of scam? Somebody fills their tank for $$$, and manages to leave the pump open when they're done, and the next card that is inserted gets charged for their gas.

Happy belated New Years. I'm at the Horseshoe Curve today:

On the first shot there is a huge steel tank with visible coal hoppers and their power 200 feet up between the large trees. The tank is not really known to most tourists, since it's always hidden from view from the visitor center area.

One needs to hike the trail to get to it. The same empty coal hopper train, which must have had well over 200 cars, is rounding the curve:

Soon after it passed, a set of SD70ACe helpers came down the mountain towards Altoona:

Down at the curve:

Anyone interested in a sun visor from the cab of Norfolk Southern diesel?:

I've seen a lot of parts lying around the tracks after falling off trains, but a sun visor is a first for me. After hanging out on the north side and no action, it was starting to get dark and time to go. As soon as i made decision to get off my rock outcrap, the sound of another westbound was heard. Seeing something dark blue in the locomotive lashup, i decided to get between the tracks for that:

The switcher must have been freshly shopped in Juniata shops. The switcher wasn't the only fresh piece of equipment in the mixed consist:

Last shot was a very lucky train meet smack in the middle of the curve. I was loosing the light fast at this point. Amtrak train is the "Pennsylvanian" to Pittsburgh:

Walking back to my car i took the faster way; on the tracks, and hearing at least two coyotes sounding off deep behind me, i was not going to stand around to count them. If anyone reads this, the coyotes didn't get me.

Non. They pre-auth $150 and then close the transaction for the final amount. Probably did a pre-auth and then ran the final transaction separately. The $150 or $151 will eventually expire and fall off.

I was already charged the $21.40, and it's been taken out of my bank account. This was unusual, the pre-auth amount here is $70, and the $151 was an attempted charge for a purchase.

The other thing it could be with Terry’s gas is that the card didn’t decline on the bank side. The gas dispenser got an error code of some sort which it displayed as a decline. So there was an open pre-authorization and then he went in and did. Am allow with at the cash register.

I’ve had that before where a merchant claimed the card declined but when I called the bank they had no record of a decline.

Pay at the pump does a pre-auth of usually $100 or $150

I still think it was a mess up. Like I mentioned above some places pre-auth but then create a new transaction when you pump and leave the pre-auth to expire after a week. They usually have a sign warning debit card users that they’ll have that and have to talk to their bank.

Next time have one of these with you....

I don't get the reason why they had to add that note. Did people think that they were being mean and cruel to the dog? Those folks probably would have dressed the dog up in a coat and tie and leave it in the house all day so that he would have been obese, lazy and useless...

I grew up with one of these big fluffy fellas! A neighbors Rottweiler thought he would eat my Beagle for lunch, til the Pyrenees came around the corner of the shop to see what the hubbub was about. He hit the Rottie on a full run and grabbed him by the throat, somehow the Rottie got free and yelped all the way toward his home til he was out of sight. I turned to check on the Beagle and the Pyrenees was happily licking his little buddy and checking him over.

I was walking ours one morning and 2 coyotes came off the hillside. I was dragged along as she was trying to catch up and take care of business.

Evening folks, currently 41 and windy, been windy all day pretty much. There's a claim we will have a little sprinkling of snow tonight. Doubt it.

The funeral was very nice overall, had a big turnout of people. The viewing was in town with the burial out in a country cemetery near us, and lunch afterwards at a church down the road from it.

Got home to a package waiting for me. Scored this lot of Athearn switcher parts off the 'bay, figured it would come in handy. I discovered a while back I have a thing for switchers, I guess because I never see any here.
