Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with big planes for big cars.
It's Troy again.
Thought I might get Mexican tonight since it's the lull between the storms. But... I might get Giordano's pizza instead. And I will have earned it.
Seems one of my nieces, the one that is mostly estranged from the family, but not quite all the way is in the hospital in our area. She's mid-30s in age... still married but long term separated from the first husband, with an on-again/off-again relationship with a girlfriend. We never know who she's with week to week.
When she was married to the piece of

hubby, they stole my mother's debit card, ran through her monthly SocSec money in two days, and racked up several hundred dollars in overdraft fees for Grandma... Wife and I bailed my mother out of debt... And Grandma pressed charges, though it broke her heart to see her granddaughter head off to jail.
Anyway, niece has severe Crohn's disease and ends up hospitalized at least once a year. This time, she's been sent to Parkview Hospital in our neck of the woods.
"Uncle Troy... can you bring me....." and a few things that are doable (coloring book and markers, reading materials)... the problem is, she now has my phone #.
A year ago she was hospitalized down in Indianapolis (away from her girlfriend, and my sister/her mother)... my daughter lives in Indy. One trip... sure, no problem.
Next day... more stuff needed....
The following day... more stuff, and
Niece: can you bring me food?
Daughter: No, you have crohn's .... you eat what the doctors tell you (greasy burgers aren't good for that)
Niece: But... they said I could... (daughter didn't fall for that)
That turned into her crying and trying to guilt trip my daughter... My kid won't put up with that, and blocked her.
I suspect, based on past behaviour, that I'll get at least three texts tomorrow. AFTER I tell her I'm not making the half-hour drive that will take even longer with the snow and winter yuck we're about to get.
We'll see how this goes. My hopes are not high.
Fortunately my sis, her mom is an hour-ish away and can do weekend duty for her.
