I guess we had our "freeze". It hit 32f for about an hour Tuesday & Wednesday morning. 44f this morning and with the little breeze the 2 days of being fogged in will be gone.

If we switch to an El Nino next year we will definitely have cold and snow. Nothing like you polar bears in the midwest tolerate, but just enough to cause widespread panic. 1" of wet snow shuts everything down. This state hasn't figured out how to use snow plows or road salt. Our street is close to a 20% grade, with an S turn a couple of houses above ours. It's definitely a sporting event when there's snow and it freezes over.

He texted that they were both dealing with some travel flu and wanted to know they had access to a restroom. So they upgraded their ticket. Says there were a stops the train made but were told after a few stops the train would pick up speed. They were going a cozy 160mph when he texted.
I’d travel Gran Class if I could.

We did get Japan rail Green Car passes a couple times. It’s nicer than ordinary but like domestic first class is to economy in domestic flights.

David hope that none of those cars are yours... Portland and snow removal. We went through a few years ago and watched a snow plow get ready for ...um... plowing. Blade was at least an inch off the pavement and plowed that way. Portland people have nix'd salt and/or chemical on highways also - bad for the environment and cars. Don't know if it still that way or not. Go figure.

That would be like going plane spotting every day! I'd never get any work done.

Are you talking about Davos, Switzerland? I can't find any airport in that valley.

Nope, not mine. I'm smart enough to garage the vehicles or move them down to a near flat area out of the way.

We wisely live well outside of PDX in another county, in the unincorporated area, but we're still on our own. I had studded tires on a different 4wd vehicle when we first moved here and could go anywhere, but now I keep chains in the back of my current car. We're 1.5 miles to the main road/state highway, but it's the other drivers that make it difficult. 2wd and road tires don't work. 4wd/AWD doesn't mean a thing if you have the wrong tires. Heck, people don't seem to realize that you can brake or you can turn, but you can't do both at once.....especially on an icy grade.
