When anyone mentions ICE I automatically think of Deutsche Bahn's InterCity Express trains.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those wondering what Adventure Terry is off to.

It's Troy again.

right now the weather guessers are predicting nuisance snow Wed, Fri, Sat for NE Indiana but South Bend Indiana and parts NW of there might be looking at up to 9 in.

I picked up italian sausages to cook on the gas grill tonight, since today is our last non-wintery day of the week. After that, it's probably a run to the pizza place (with leftover for the next night), and perhaps a shepherds pie (with beef) for dinners this week.

Y'all might recall our piddly problems with the Puddy-tat earlier this year. Both stairway landings are now vinyl flooring with throw rugs.

Wife heard him scratching on the wall this morning. I check the throw rugs we put down. Upstairs landing was dry. But not the one on the way to the basement.

The only thing that changed was I didn't put back the second litter box after I emptied and cleaned it.

Evidently Lord Fuzzbutt is crenky and wants his large piddle box that I have to manually clean instead of the automatically rotating poo dumping litter robot. He still poops in the litter robot, but piddles and the odd poo are what he wants the big roomy litterbox for. Dumb cat.

So, I made a run to the big box stores to get more of the cat-pee enzyme cleaner, and spent half an hour running the carpet cleaner over both sides of that throw rug.

His lordship has his big manual piddle box back.

👿:p I might have to rig up something like this in his piddle box 👿

Good morning folks.

40°F this morning under cloudy skies. Supposed to be 67°F by 1500, but we'll see about that.

Eye exam at 0900 this morning to see why I'm seeing a lot of grey spiderweb-like grey foggy lines in my left eye, and for new glasses. This started about four months ago, but I couldn't get an eye appointment until today. I made this appointment back at the beginning of October. I'm glad it hasn't gotten any worse.

Have a great day!

Servus!
I had the same thing about 6 months ago. I got home from the gym, took a shower, and when I got out had the same symptoms. Thankfully I was able to get in to see an opthomologist the next day. He saw a retinal hemorrhage, but couldn't confirm a retinal detachment. They sent me to retina specialist the next week to make sure I didn't have a detached retina. Lucked out and no detachment, but I had 2 hemorrhages probably caused by heavy lifting. I still have a minor stuck floater that still has yet to drop away.

Did you have any flashes of light, right before the floater/spiderweb showed up?

I suffered a PVD a couple of years ago.

(from the AI) Posterior Vitreous Detachment, is a common, natural eye event where the vitreous gel separates from the retina, often causing sudden new floaters (like cobwebs or spots) and flashes of light, usually in the peripheral vision, but is generally harmless, though it needs urgent checks for complications like retinal tears or detachment, which can threaten vision.

In my case, I have a large floater that is slowly sinking, and shedding a bunch of little floaters.

Doc warned me that if I start seeing flashes of light in one or both eyes (mine were golden in color) call immediately. Detached retina is the worse case. I was lucky with the PVD instead.

Morning folks, currently 50 and cloudy with a 20% chance of rain today.

I nearly got rear-ended on my way to work. Had to slow down (also came to a stop) for a couple pallets that was in the middle of my lane, couldn't swerve around them due to an oncoming car. I guess the truck behind me wasn't paying attention and they ended up driving into the ditch to avoid me. We were the only 3 vehicles on this 2 lane road.

Be alert and safe out there.

Good morning folks, hope you are all well today. 46 here and sunny, cannot complain about how mild 2026 has been so far, hope it stays this way, almost 1/3 way through winter. Discovered the new buildings for the layout, being solid cast, are heavy enough to cause the liftout they are on to bow. Gotta figure out what to do now, I'm giving an evil look at some luan plywood in the garage.
Anyway, hope you all have a good day.

I've been diagnosed with glaucoma. Pressure is higher in my left eye than the right eye, hence the vision problem with that eye. I loved the test they gave me to determine where the vision problem was occurring. It was exactly what and where I described to them. The printout was fascinating to see along with the subsequent tests.

Those vision drops that numb your eye really work. I couldn't feel anything touching my eyes when the tests were performed.

She gave me some drops to use today and tonight before bed to reduce the pressure, and I have another appointment tomorrow at 1400 to check that. Then another appointment on the 16th, and again on the 20th.

No dilation or eye examination for glasses today. I think that is going to be on the 16th or most likely the 20th.

From the diagram of my first test, the lower right quadrant is pretty much a blur, but I already knew that. The Doctor said that is the part of the optic nerve that has died, or deteriorated. The glaucoma is in both eyes, but for now, the right eye has no vision loss at all.

As long as they can keep it from progressing, I can live with it.

GOOD MORNING. Had to turn on the computer to print a return label for an Amazon return. Sure wish they would mark if an item was made in China.

Would like to thank Mikey and Willie for the good words about me selling items from my Logan Valley layout. I was always on the buying side, not the selling side. I still have over 100 vehicles and maybe 100 freight cars along with a few Northern Pacific locomotives for sale. I will have to search more in the forum for a place to try to sell what I have left. Willie's items are headed his was via snail mail.

Although I have had surgery for cancer which was successful in removing the tumor, I will have to have 2 or 3 chemo sessions starting Thursday. Supposed to be precautionary. It sure is a pain getting old.

have a few things to take care of so I will leave posting some photos from the archives.

LATER

I looked up the pharmacology of the Timolol she gave me for my eyes. It might also slightly help with my blood pressure too. It was 156/80 this morning which is high for me, but I had just finished my third cup of coffee before arriving at the office too, so there's that. Normally with medication and no coffee my pressure is 120/80, or perfect for my age.

All the girls in the office and the doctor were all very pretty. Made the whole experience a pleasure.

Your fourth picture from the bottom reminds me of the Illinois Central GP-9s, -7s, and -30s that came through my back yard pushing a boxcar to the stove foundry that was across the street from my house growing up. When I was four my great grandfather got me a ride on one of those passing through.

They'd flip out if you even asked that today.

Great scenes!

Good morning, all! 52 with a high of 59 predicted. I just returned from a grocery curbside pickup and ran through a few sprinkles of rain. Looks to be a dreary on tap. Dermatologist yesterday for a 6 month follow up. She froze a few spots, and I don't need to return for a year.

How about those Texans. Offensively it was a poor showing, but holy mackerel, that defense totally controlled the game.

In the train room yesterday just some track cleaning. I need to get to the little used sidings and clean them.

I thought my debt checking card was compromised over the holidays, so I ordered a new card. I get a message from my bank that the new card I've had only one day might have a fraudulent claim because I didn't authorize it. It was McAfee I told the bank I did not want them using this card and not to pay the request. I called McAfee and asked them how they got my new debt card number and billed my checking account. They told me that they have a deal with the credit card company's if there's any credit card updates etc. They receive that information from them the credit card companies. Well, that's great the credit card companies feel it's OK to give out my credit card information numbers etc. without my consent. Let me decide whether a company needs to have my card information or not OK. I'll be calling VISA to find out why this is? Swal

I just called Chase bank, and they tell me that once you charge something with a company your card whether it has a new number or not, is forever linked with them and whether you authorized the payment or not. It will be coming out of your checking account. The only way you can stop this is call the bank and tell them I want to unlink my account with for example McAfee like I just did. So watch out buying something from some company from Tim Buck Two. Swal
