I made some changes to my layout expansion project. I'm not going to have an engine servicing yard. Instead, I'm going to be a more like Willie and have more businesses. It looks better with all the lights. I did add on one spur for a company in town. You have to remember the new president is a businessman. So I'm going to try and boost the layouts economy.

Nice utilization of the space while maintaining accessibility.

It dipped down to 11F after I last posted but is back to 13F. Strangely I'm dressed now pretty much the same as I was the other night when I was working in the 13-15F except I don't have the polo shirt. I am in my unfinished basement office and its probably around 55F. And I am cold. I guess when you're working and concentrating on stuff you don't feel it.

Need to get up to the house as my sister and BIL and niece will be there in a few minutes. We're doing a work day to finish stuff up.

Good morning, all! Appears to be a lot of frozen individuals in the diner this morning. We awoke to 34 degrees, heading for 40. Then tonight we fall into the 20's with snow expected to fall all night and into tomorrow. Tomorrow's low in the teens. There so many variations to the forecasts as to the amount of snow we'll see. Range from 1" to 8". And of course, snow being a novelty this far south everyone is going bananas. Been looking for a "snowmobile dealer near me".
I spent yesterday getting the hobo camp ready for the freeze, wrapping pipes, insulating hose bibs plugs for the roof turbines and test run the generator.
Looks like at least 2 train room days coming.

STAY SAFE (and warm)

Home stretch, congrats it’s been a long time coming for you and the family.

David, please follow the doctors' orders and listen to your body. I understand how you feel but think of how things will back up if you end up back in the hospital. And I hate it when that happens! I like it when you check in with us every day. 😁

I fully understand, Louis. The challenge is Dawn is disabled and has to rely on me to do the housework etc.. I did one day of getting things back to some sort of normal and now the going is easy. :) Dawn knows that and today has kept me in check taking it easy.

I guess I'll have to hit the Lotto Willie I have the station, diner, church and use cars dealer's parking lots to fill plus the cars on the streets.

Since the area that I roughly model is an area that doesn't salt the roads in the wintertime, it was not unusual to see 20-30 year old vehicles still in daily use in the era ('78-'95) that I model. I use a lot of Oxford vehicles from the 50's and 60's, which due to the value of the English £ can be gotten for under $10@ at my LHS.
