Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin. It’s -7f degrees but the real feel is -5. Later the actual will be +7 for the high but -11 for the real feel.

I will be watching the television this afternoon as history unfolds for something other than the hockey of NFL. We have all our financials in order and Terry is ready to play the stock market guessing game for the next few weeks. She has a budget…

Mike (MIGALYTO). Both my wife and sister were educators and later administrators. They always talked about the differences in the days off between Wisconsin and Illinois school districts. After checking I am shocked though our local and highly liberal school district didn’t reference Dr King for being off today, just that it’s Inauguration Day.

I have a weathering client who also is a fire fighter in LA. He sent these pictures to me. He was off duty when these were snapped

The destruction caused by these wild fires just is overwhelming with over 15,000 structures gone and. 27 dead

Today’s op session was cancelled due to an over abundance of caution due to the Polar Vortex last Thursday or Friday. I’ll mainly be in the train room today.

i watched several youtubers that i follow from in and around LA. those fires where yea breathtaking. must be hell to be there. and it sounded like there could be potential fires coming the following days, because another big wind hit. i mean this makes the news over here in switzerland.

oh and the organe guy also starts his job today. wondering what will happen to all my cryptos :D

Good mornin' from chilly Nacogdoches. 22 and clear w/c 22 - high for the day 40 low tonight 22 - precipitation starting about 11pm or so and continuing into tomorrow. Today is a holiday but all area schools, including NISD and SFA, have cancelled classes for tomorrow. Might get out a bit later just to get out of the house before being homebound for a couple of days. Y'all take care, stay safe, stay warm.

Morning all,

11° and cloudy with light snow expected through later this afternoon. None here yet.
I'll play catchup on the 9 pages I'm skipping.

Funeral went fine, wife still a little down, but that's to be expected. Back to work in the morning as today is one of the holidays I never had working in the private sector.

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 19° this morning. Another night like this tonight and then we warm up a bit.

An early start for me today, as I go to the dentist for the second try at the permanent crown. Remember that the first one didn't fit right. Busy medical week as I head for the cardiologist tomorrow. I have a bit of a cold, so I hope that doesn't stop either from seeing me.

Well, I promised some pictures today, but I am up against the proverbial wall time-wise this morning, so I will defer until another day.

Tom O - From what I am told by others in the same situation as your ex-employees, if SS is legitimately earned, there is no issue with having it sent to Mexico.
Regarding TikTok, a person should already know that their data is compromised before even signing up, just like all other social media. Let the buyer beware.
Swal - Filling up parking lots on the layout gets expensive.
Len - Interesting that Nacogdoches is just 250 miles from me, but we're not expecting anything but sunshine tomorrow. Still cold here though. I do see a minor patch of snow on the radar about 60 miles west of here right now.

Everybody have a great Monday.

Howdy all from NW Indiana. It's -5 now and we are getting ready to go to the gym. Hope everyone is staying warm. Quick question; I know a lot of you know what this kit is; but what else can it be used for besides what it was made as. I like the design; but don't really need the product produced there. Both are the same kit, just different colors. I have the kit and like the looks; but certainly there must be another product or use for this kit...any ideas

Good Morning All!
9F @ 58% - boy did I lie to ya last post. We are seeing the polar freeze today. Guessers say in the teens tomorrow until Saturday. Fired up the cook stove to help with house heat.

Train Cave yesterday went good removing the scratchings I did before for placement of the uprights for the ramps. It was just proof that I can not cut semi-circles with a jig saw. Outside edge is pretty much perfect, inside edge is all over the place as I was reaching over to get-r-done. Out again a little later for milling said uprights; 1"x 1 3/4" and placing on base. Well, Ima going to cut 1" high ones and drill 2 holes in them and screw them to the base. Then I can drill those holes so I can bottom screw them when needed. Base framework next. That is the easy part as I can use 1x3's or 1x4's for that and those will be easy cutting. At least some progress is happening!

Planning on watching some of the inauguration at 1000 and I am hungry so time will tell when I get out there.

Y'all keep warm!

Good morning gang!

17° under sunny skies. Last nights snow is being dealt with, but the daytime high of only 22° is brrrr cold for us. Even worse, temps drop to 5 ° by tomorrow morning! Double brrrr! And we aint even talking about the "feels like" temp!!
Not supposed to get past freezing until next Sunday!

John, Just change the signage ! Make it whatever you want! It could be the Johnson Tuit Corp (Makers of round Tuits) :D

It was 12f this morning when I got up around 6’or 6:30. One degree colder than Sunday morning. Coincidentally I was up until 5am working on the front porch laying decking Saturday night/sunday morning in the 13F cold but didn’t feel cold. I had my toque (knit beanie for this who don’t speak Canadian) and just a bunch of layered shirts. No jacket. And I didn’t feel cold. I had an undershirt, a HEAT shirt, a t shirt, another long sleeved funky fabric shirt like you wear in the summer to keep cool, a t shirt, and a polo shirt. Work gloves and the beanie.

After today supposed to warm up again to low thirties and even hitting 40 by Friday. With lows going up to 18 to mid 20s. Just the last 3 days had a cold spell.

I have the day off from work and family is coming to help get the last stuff done we need for inspection plus some painting not technically necessary for inspection but that needs to be done to move in as it’s hard to do afterwards.

We have 30 day notice on our current rental home on Jan 1 so we have another 11 days to be out. We’ve been moving boxes and stuff the last week or two (and in small amounts the last 6 months) but still lots to move. The landlord for our current digs will renovate so they said if we need a few extra days they’ll charge pro rated rent but as long as we can pass inspection by Friday or the following Monday we should be ok. I’m going to tell my boss I’ll be 80% offline this week with the move.

Nacogdoches, TX. My late wife was from there. Her father owned the "Hand Printing" on SE Stallings Dr.
Nacogdoches was also the landing site of some of the space shuttle in 2003.
Re space shuttle: several pieces landed in BIL/SIL's neighborhood. I was up getting coffee when I heard the sonic booms. SIL called a few minutes later and said stuff was falling from the sky.

chadbag: good luck with the move. Lease up and all utilities off here Jan 31. Movers coming next Monday, cleaning service Wednesday. We should be on our way by Thursday or so. Probably have to wait a few day for movers to deliver our stuff in Cheyenne.

Chad: Boy, layering up is all I seemed to do. Looked like that little kid with multiple snow suits on with arms sticking straight out. Ya, go ahead .. take a step. Then I remembered I had Dickies insulated overalls. To me, those are the cat's meow as you can unzip the legs/arms when you get to warm. Even with temps in the teens I get too warm even just standing. Block wind too. Don't have to layer up as before - HEAT top and bottom, tee-shirt and jeans which makes it pretty easy to move around as much as my old body lets me.

Moving: Have a friend whose SO is/has kinda moved in with him. She does not want to completely move out of her apartment as she has been there over 20 years and she is somewhat stuck on it. Well, she is going in for a hip replacement in a couple of weeks, and when gone a bunch of us are going to move all the remaining stuff out and into the apartment. Will see how that goes. That should give her something to do while breaking in the new hip. They have been an 'item' for almost 10 years and it just does not make sense paying 2 rents. Hoping the temps will be better than now.
