Well it's been along time coming and I've decided to put the KG & B Railway in storage for awhile so I can build some other models that I've been doing since moving to another state. The railroad really hasn't been up and running since the move and the hobby room needed space for my hobby power tools so something had to give. The railroad is on casters and in it's own shadow box so moving it into the wood shop (covering it up) was never a problem.

Something I've always done just for fun is put out a newsletter to all my "stockholders" (family and friends) to tell them what is going on with my railroad. I've included a copy here (hope it comes out right). Also, a picture of my hobby room in the wood shop.

I'll always visit here, not going anywhere, and I'll post pictures and comments of things going on in my world.

Thanks for everything and see on down the line.

Good morning, all! It's 55 at the hobo camp and sunny. Some warm weather predicted for the week and then a very cold plunge over the coming weekend. The Conductress has plans for us going shopping several days this week. Oh joy!
Not sure what is on today's agenda.

Good afternoon, it's cloudy and 68.
I am waiting for USPS to deliver the upgraded command station for my layout. The Zephyr is fine, though trying to perform some advanced DCC tasks has become something of a challenge. I'd really rather not have to push button 6 three times while rubbing my stomach and patting myself on top of my head.

Everything is done. The drop ceiling is installed. Adding molding to hide where the old upper deck use to be. All the railroad art is in place. I'm going to add a little piece of bench work for the station that was on the upper to be placed. I also plan on adding a small engine service yard at the same location. The railroad is now small enough that if I sell the house the buyer can easily remove it without any trouble if he wishes to.

Afternoon all,

Crazy weekend, followed by a busy Monday. Supposed to get to 34°, and then as high as mid 40's midweek, before tanking for the weekend. High Sunday expected to be 17° this far out. Hope they're wrong (but if they are it will be much colder).

About Dancing:

"There are two types of beings in the universe: those who dance and those who do not." Drax the Destroyer

This is my philosophy as well. I do not dance, I do not enjoy it, never have, never will.

Freshman HS Dance, I was asked by a nice girl to go. I made the mistake of telling her my dad wouldn't let me go, so as she and her family knew ours, she asked my dad. I showed them, I still didn't dance. No dances the rest of HS. I did attend the prom the next 6 years out of HS, but went with 3 different girls. First 2 were seniors I was dating at the time (broke up between them). 3rd one was as a teacher who was Senior Class sponsor, so had to attend. So we were a thing at the prom until she quit teaching and she's been bugging me to dance ever since...I did the father\daughter\parents dance at a couple of weddings, but that was it. It isn't that I can't dance, I just don't like doing it, so I don't.

I run the DR5000 as my main. I am looking to get a YaMoRC YD7010, but also want to get a Z21, and an ESU CabControl (the North American ESU station) command station, as well as the new TCS system and some sort of Digitrax and a DCC+ system. (The reason I would eventually like to get all the various ones is I am [slowly] developing a phone/mac/ipad based throttle and eventually fully featured train control software and I would like to be able to test and handle all of them. The YaMoRC being the first I'll evebntually get, as its basically an updated DR5000 dveloped by the same guy who did the DR5000 but under his own company now. The company selling the DR5000, Digikeijs, cut ties with him and then eventually went out of business. I don't know the whole story.

I actually have an NCE PowerCab of some sort as well which I'll use for support but I have not really used it since I got the DR5000.

Very nice layout room. I like all the decor and also I really like the bead board on the walls. I'm thinking about doing the same thing in my miniature workshop in the wood shop. I need to paint if I don't cover the walls.

I do like what you've done, very nice job!!
