Big problems today. My wife is unable to move at all. My sister tells me she needs to go into a hospice ordered by her doctor.
Of course, her doctor is overwelled with sick people and hasn't returned my call. I have no idea what's going to happen next. If she leaves for hospice care I may sell the house. My train layout would have to be taken down. I don't know what's going to happen?

Swal-My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Thanks everyone for the prayers. I called 911 she's in the hospital now whether or not she ever returns home is up in the air right now. If she does I'll need a lot of help. If she doesn't, I'll most likely sell the house. I'm not going to put anymore work into my layout being I may have to take it all down. I'm almost finished installing the drop ceiling I guess for the next owner.

Now that she's in the hospital, there are social workers at the hospital that will help you with the next steps. I had to be persistent with them, but finally got things moving.
Don't wait, contact them tomorrow.

Swal: Peace and positive vibes headed your way, so that you have the energy and calmness of mind to help your wife through this ordeal.

The weather guessers say we may stay above Naughty and negatives temps in the F-degree world. Still, I'll let the water drip in the back bathroom tonight.

We went out for pizza at the "gooey" place.

First course: Garlic knots

then the hand tossed with more cheese than anyone else puts on a pie in this area... mmmmm

It was YUMMM! and very worth the drive in 6° F weather.

Good evening gents

Stayed at work all day, cleared the snow from a bunch of cars, but let the sales guys and lot jockeys do the most of it. This old guy was saving his strength for his own house. Wife & kid were able to get the from walkway and the back deck cleared, but the driveway is a wreck.
Problem, 57 year old Cub wouldn't start. The starter motor can't turn the engine over fast enough, even when hooked to a booster charge. Starter/generator that is. Plus the belt that connects the 2 is quite brittle so I don't dare tighten it. In warmer temps it works fine, but not tonight. Gotta work on that tomorrow. A new belt and some kind of heat in the garage. Right now my feet are wet and cold, I've had enough and the woodstove is soooo warm.

Swal. I wouldn't wish your situation on anyone and there are prayers and best wishes for all involved. I was pleased to hear that you got her to a place where they can give you the kind of help she needs. You are not Superman, noone is, but you have done right by her. 🙏🙏🙏, Oh, and do not feel guilty or feel bad about bringing your situation to us. We're friends here, please don't forget that.

Mara, welcome back!

Flo, can I get a slice of Lemon Meringue pie, a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream and a Twisted tea ?

Best to you and your wife. Don’t worry about the house, especially now. It’s time will come.

Welcome back. I was wondering where you went off to.
Willy I went nowhere, just busy doing all kind of other things.
In June we will celebrate, 150 years ago, our RR line came to town. I planned to build the station.
Until I realized it would take me 11 meters to build the station and little yard. (that is more than 36 feet)
So not! Not for the time to build, and not for the layout to fit into the station hall.
Yes I know, instead of H0 I could do it in other scales. But in N or S you can hardly build something.
I need to find something instead.

Morning all,

15° and clear this morning, going for a high of 41° later.

A touch of snow overnight, but they only way you'd know is by looking at the edge of the driveways, where it got caught by the grass.

May have to get some one to do our taxes this year as we have my income and her Social Security to deal with. Don't have anything too difficult, as we only will have a single bank interest statement. We can't itemize as we just don't have enough. We did buy into another CD last week. Had some funds that were just sitting earning enough to justify the account, so we converted them into another CD. Kind of nice to think we have some money for a change...

Well, howdy there internet peeps.

Up at 4 am due to the sciatic nerve going nuts last night. I started with the stretching and Alieve. It's mostly quiet at the moment, but I added extra lumbar support to the office chair.

Our local gaming group has drifted off to other things, and rather than spend the energy trying to pull them together again, or building a new group in a new game, I'm looking at jumping back into Role Play Gaming.

But, since Hasbro, current owners of D&D, is doing everything it can to honk off the player base, I'm looking at a game called Pathfinder.

Found a local group that runs the Organized Play campaign, and they're starting a "new season" this Saturday. Already asked the wife if she needed me or the car.

If you've played D&D in the past, and haven't heard of Pathfinder, it was written by the Monte Cooke team that made D&D 3rd ed for Wizards of the Coast after they purchased the game. But, when the owners started to create 4th ed D&D, Cooke and his team didn't want to lose the core design of 3rd ed. So they took the concept and built Pathfinder on it's bones.

Basically, very similar play engine, with new names. And it's up to version 2.5 (Called 2nd Ed Remastered).

I'm building a Goblin rogue to play. He wants to be a bard, so his singing/music ability is about where mine is. We'd get paid not to sing!

Now I just have to find my dice!

Good morning from a warming Wisconsin. It is -2f feeling like -17 with the wind chill. BUT, the high for the day should be +16 and the low overnight +1. That’s a big improvement. The downside of all this though are the winds, they will be in the teens with gusts hitting in the high 20’s creating the dangerous wind chills.

Since I retired in 2014 one of ours plans was to downsize from what we had in North Central Wisconsin. The problem came about when I retired the Madison/Verona area homes in the downsized size we were looking at were terrible and old. Terry found a farmhouse and we re-modeled it. She always had wanted one, but it was bigger than the place we had just left. We decided then we would be building in the future, live in it and sell it. In 9.5 years we have done this 3 times. We are living in the 3rd new build and all have been bigger than the last. Yes, we have an offer on this place and we are considering just taking it with no counter offers. We can stay through April and after that we have lots of temporary choices. One of them is going back to the office and living there for the third time since 2014. The fun maybe beginning.
