Good morning, everyone!

The weather folks pretty much nailed this one. I'm not sure how much snow we received yet, but I estimate 7-8 inches so far. We had a reprieve from 7-9am till the next round is scheduled to hit.

Figured I better get out and clear the driveway and get the first layer off.

Here is the view from the neighborhood:

I don't know how well it will come out, but here is the neighbor's deck and picnic table, this is how much we have gotten so far from the 2 storms this week.

Stay safe everyone!

Unfortunately we have snow too. Never tyoo much at once but its added up to 4-5 inches probably. At east its light and fluffy and its been cold to keep it that way.

The drywall mud / taping crew was there until about 1:30am. I checked my camera right before I went to bed and they were still there so I checked this morning and the last recorded event has them with their coats on going towards the door.

I didn't get to the wife's tire yesterday as I had too many dad-taxi obligations with the daughter to be able to risk having to sit and wait for my turn since I don't have a tire appointment. So I am going today after I drop my daughter off at the school. They are going on a road trip in her HS swim team down to Cedar City (couple hundred miles south in S Utah -- where my dad is from actually). So I won't have any further dad-taxi obligations. Luckily we have the car my son was driving that I can use in that role. It's my dad's old 2007 Honda Fit. Wife took my car again to work today.

It's cold. Says 24F now. Was a few degrees colder when I got up. At least the day's work meetings are over.

Morning All! We're getting the crap kicked out of us this morning with snow. If I were driving, I'd say it would be close to white out conditions. I predict a two-snow thrower run day, and I'm waiting for the plow to go by before the first run. That rascal tends to undo all my work! Heading off to the home office next week for a week there, then to Boston the week after, then return here and off to Amherst for the big show there. Anyone going? My bonus is burning a hole in my pocket! Not that I need anything, but WTH none of this is about need! Anyhoo, the point is I'll probably be scarce around here for a couple of weeks, starting Sunday. Maybe posts in the evenng. We'll see how busy they keep me.

As a 🇨🇦, I have been less and less enamoured with snow and cold each passing year..

I have to say though that our cold weather has been trending warmer over the last few years with a corresponding decrease in snow…
Having said this, it is supposed to rain/snow/deep freeze this weekend…

I collected, Julia our granddaughter from school. No sooner was she in the car,
"Can we go to the Aircraft Museum tomorrow?" she asks.
That has taken care of Saturday.

Julia is the only one of our grandchildren who has taken an interest in aircraft. Her father (our son) was in the R.A.F.. Her great grandmother (my mum) was also. She had the job of ferrying (unarmed) aircraft to air bases in the North of England in WW2.

Oh how sweet on all accounts! Out of Chino, just north of here, there are many WW2 aircraft based there. A couple days each year they have quite an airshow - and for practice - they "dogfight" all around the valley here. Everytime I hear the sound of a big recip engine, I head for the yard to watch them - just the sound excites me.
How old is Julia? Maybe give her a few flying lessons to really "jack" her up!

Seven years of age. She has already sat in the cockpit of aircraft.

Mindst' you, she is a 1-1 train nut. Being on the footplate of a locomotive is an enjoyment to her. Then hanging around Military Hardware, tanks, jeeps, anything.

As an aside. In the mid to late 1990s, my son, Simon was in the R.A.F. and my daughter, Julia (yes Julia. The name is always handed down. Her daughter is also called Julia.) was in the Army. When they saw each other there was always a 'heated discussion' as to who was the better. Neither won as I said the Navy was the winner.

Good morning folks, albeit a late one,

It was -26 this morning when I got up and this is forecast to be the warmest day of at least the next two. Currently sitting at -21. It snowed a couple more inches last night but there aren't any trips planned other than retrieving the dumpster so the snow can enjoy its snooze. Both wood stoves going 24/7 is putting a dent in the firewood stash.

Good Morning again All!

Now -2 @ 52% and bright sunshine.

So, question for you RVr's. We have an alarm going off - high pitched whistle. Started about 0530 this am. I went and woke Maria up about 0730 wanting to know if she could hear where it was coming from. Weird said she. ( Willie - she was not hurt, except for pride ). Decided to brave the cold and went out to check it out; No propane in the thing, smoke detector is not the issue. Sounds like it is coming from the power distribution box but can not see anything there. Anybody more in the know than I have any ideas?

I will contribute to the snow pix:

Beep beep beep--pause--beep beep beep?
that is a co/lp alarm, usual when the coach battery is nearly dead.

Afternoon All,

Started out the day at 61F and raining. Currently 76F and humid. Today in the train room I built 3 signs, built the front entrance, and placed signage on the walls. I also painted a fire plug and used a metal blackening fluid on the roof exhaust stack. This took about 3 hours. Tomorrow Dad and I are visiting my buddy Tom in Orlando.

Todd- It would be great to see Chet posting regularly and working on a layout.

Louis- I'm sorry if I offended. Being an animal rescuer, I would never condone abuse.

TomO- That is wrong on so many levels.

Troy- That food looks great, but my acid reflux says no.

Joe- Nice selection of Pennsy power. My favorite diesel is a RS1.

David- Have a fun time with granddaughter. You're right, the Navy is the winner.

Sherrel- Great story about you and SWMBO.

Mike- Yikes. 😲

Willie- You are right about the snow. Neat longhorn photos.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Terry: No, one solid whistle. When I went out I checked for stuff that might be on; other than refer, uWave and such. When I came back in I killed power at the house box for a minute or so. No go. About 20 minutes later, it stopped. So, Ima kinda leaning to CO2 as it has been closed up for two months with no egress/ingress. There is a small heater running. Go figure.

Aviation museums…some great ones here in North America

Udvar Hazy in Chantilly VA…
USAF at Wright Patterson in Dayton OH…the best
And the 🇨🇦 Aviation Museum in Ottawa…
I took this pic there, sitting in a MiG-21 cockpit years ago… pshopped it as the original lighting wasn’t great and photog was an amateur 😜… anyway it resides in our home office
