The Sugar Free A&W Cream Soda is a big mover at the Kroger that I go to. It has a decent shelf space and it always seems low when I go. I asked the delivery guy about it once and he said that it sold much better at my location than the other 2 Kroger stores in town.
The reason that I asked him was because the packaging is quite similar to the Sugar Free A&W Root Beer and I accidentally was putting some in my basket when I realized what I was doing. I am not a cream soda fan so it was good that I discovered my mistake then and was able to switch them back.
I'll have to look in the soda isle. I usually pickup zero sugar Pepsi or Coke in the center isle display when it is on sale. I seldom if ever go in the soda isle.

I also like sugar free A&W Root Beer.

When I was a boy the man who raised me often made ice cream floats for me with cream soda or root beer. I loved them, the next best thing to have for dessert. As he used to tell me "You can't have rice pudding every day"

I got an iPad Air for Christmas. I'm not a fan of Apple, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth either.

Can anyone tell me what an iPad Air is?

My wife says it should work with Lionel's App to control both Legacy and LionChief trains. That sounds good to me!

Morning folks,

The magic temperature, 32F, cloudy, and snow forecast for this afternoon.

All the soft drink discussion: if everyone drank as much of that stuff as I do, all the producers would be out of business. Maybe a six pack of Mtn Dew a year and that is limited to Jeep/RZR/hiking outings---

Coffee? That's a 6 or 7 "cup" a day thing. French roast and black. At least all present evidence indicates that stuff is actually good for you.

I got more slides scanned yesterday. Time to try and make some order out of the files. This is all NP material from early 1973 when it was fast disappearing into that bland green and all the wood cars were headed to the scrap yards.

The iPad Air is the mid-tier iPad.
It's much better than the base model, has either 64 or 256gb storage, and a full-on computer processor. It is lower in spec than the iPad Pro.

Apple's version of a tablet?

I haven't opened the box yet.
Yes. It runs on their tablet version of their phone software. Currently it's about iPad OS 17.2 or so.
The touchscreen, and screen in general, are great. If you prefer the feel of a laptop, Apple sells a Magic Keyboard, which is a backlit combination keyboard and cover, with touchpad. You put it on, and the iPad becomes a touchscreen laptop. The downside is, the keyboard is eye-wateringly expensive.

Afternoon All,

Started out the day at 66F and raining which lasted all morning. After chores I finished the garage kit and weathered it up. After completion I realized (finally) that all the doors are very oversized for HO scale. Crap. Based on that it will sit on a shelf in the train room. The doors remind me of the oversized Monster Modelworks doors in their kits. We were supposed to take down HOA lights this morning but that will be tomorrow now.

I was looking at the definition of Proto 48 and it seems like it's a size in between HO and O like S scale. Is there any other difference? I ask because I think I'm meeting a Proto 48 modeler next week.

TomO- Enjoy your games.

Bill- Nice photo.

Alan- Have fun with your grandkid.

David- Enjoy your train time.

Willie- Your story reminds me of living in HI when the sugar cane fields were burnt (every 18 months). We lived up a large hill from several fields. I can remember the yard looking alive from the sheer numbers of mice running for safety. We actually caught 2 mice in one trap at the same time!

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good afternoon, 2 hockey games down. The grandson’s team to put it nicely, sucked. Lost 3-4 in a game nohere as close as the score. Then 2 hours later got blown out 0-9 by the same team. No a good late morning or early afternoon.

This afternoon at 5 today’s losing streak should end on the University of Wisconsin campus as the Badger women again play Merrimac. Then dinner out.

After dinner I will be at the bench. I rarely get FedEx packages but there were 3 at the front door when we got home from the gd/s’s hockey. I got a text from a client saying 16 containers and 2 well cars were delivered today. Nothing on the other 2 and too busy right now to open till tonight. I need a 20 minute nap before we leave in a hour!

Grandkids! and they let you know it! We had a great visit. I usually need a nap after. Nice little tire shop! Proto48 is a super scale refinement of O Scale. Beautiful work. Finer track details, scale profile wheels and other refinements. Two rail O on steroids!

You'll love it for casual web browsing, TV subscription services or YouTube, and if you happen to have a Kindle, the software and books can be used on it. I spend more time on my tablet than my laptop and I have a pretty heavy-duty Lenovo. Get a nice cover for it. Apple is on the expensive side, but very intuitive and easy to use.
