Yeah, and who actually penned it we may never really know. The 2 egos in the Eagles never really paid homage to their mentors.

Many of their songs were given to them by others, and the Eagles never really did what I would call a stand-up job of giving others credit.

JD Souther, Linda Rondstadt, Jackson Browne, and Jack Tempchin, all helped them get their start, and co-wrote a lot of their songs.

Even one of Don Henley's top solo hits was more Bruce Hornsby than Don.

Sorry... I have a chip on my shoulder about Henley and Frey. It shows, doesn't it?
Jeff - I personally dislike both Don & Glenn, but they did write a lot of their own material. All writing credits on Eagles albums are correctly attributed to the composers. Other members of the band should get more credit like Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner and later Joe Walsh. Bruce Hornsby got half a writing credit for The End of the Innocence, but the whole song is really his. By the way, Linda Ronstadt did help them get started, but she never wrote a song even for herself except 2 or 3 minor album cuts. I first saw her open a show headlining Neil Young in the early 70's. I only saw the Eagles once, co-billed with the Rolling Stones at the Cotton Bowl in the mid-70's. The opening two acts were Montrose (featuring an up & coming Sammy Hagar) and Triumph. No one played particularly well at that concert, or maybe it was just the venue.

Sherrel: We dropped DirecTV a couple of years ago. Got tired of things changing and being removed, on top of that, if raining or snowing fairly hard - no reception. It *never* rains or snows here! Our Internet speed was 50M/Sec then so we went to streaming stuff. Amazon has a free dongle if you are a Prime member, else you can buy something that plugs into your smart TV. Then we had to get one of the streaming services that carried Fox, so went with Sling. All in all, our bill went from $120 to $35 per month. I am thinking about MGM+ and/or Paramount - haven't decided yet as I haven't done the 30 day test drives.

Later
I ended up with Paramount +, it has several channels on it, even CBS.

That's the only problem with that show. You can't do it properly in one day! Fortunately, hotels in Springfield at that time of year are cheap. I always stayed at the Sheraton Monarch Place which had a block set aside for the show, but you need to register in advance. There are also Hampton Inns and such. Lodging isn't a problem. Lots of good inexpensive food in the area as well. I wanted to go this year, but work kind of got in the way. Maybe next year!
Good to know thanks.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those without the fluffy white stuff

(No not the kind Don Jr uses)

Here are some pics from our snow event. I went out at the height and shoveled twice, about 90 minutes apart. In that span I measured just over 2 inches had fallen.

Total count should be over 6 inches, but it's been around 33-34° f while it was snowing, so some of that melted.

That's the T-Rex chomping on little gnomes. He stands about 9.5 inches tall, and is on a tree stump

As for getting satellite or cable or internet specifically for a channel to tell you what to think... there's a reason we unplugged from those things a long time ago. I'm a ton calmer and not near as grumpy since I stopped watching that crap.

I'd suggest just getting something with lots of Andy Griffith and Brady Bunch reruns. ;) Maybe some Gilligan or The Munsters. You'll be much happier.

Boris: Glad your infection cleared up, I'm pretty mine did too as I take Zinc tablets a couple of times a day.
It would be interesting to know what side affects your medication allegedly had ?
Every time I pick up a prescription at the drug store, they include a two page summary about the particular medication including all known incidents of adverse reaction that could possibly be caused by that medication. The medication information /adverse reaction potential can be downloaded from reputable sites on line. Not for nothing, life is a continual risk.

Good evening. I am watching the 2nd period of the Toronto/NY Ranger game. With the talent that Toronto has they should be running away with their division. I would change the HC, this has gone on too many seasons. Period over, TV off.

TV, we stream after dropping DirectTV 4 years ago. We do get snow and heavy rains and for the crazy amount we were spending we couldn’t watch it. Even recordings got interrupted. Saved over $100 per month going to TDS. Have switched from TDS to Spectrum but with Spectrum for less than 6 months and switched back to TDS. We have saved money every switch. We use Roku, so no monthly fee there. Hula, Amazon and Disney are very affordable monthly fees. As for News networks, I’ve never checked as I try very hard not to watch anything on TV regarding Media news. I‘d rather read about my news. I read the Chicago papers, LA Times, NYT (rarely), Washington Times all of which accessible from the Drudge Report page. I no longer read everyday but only if a headline seems interesting. I get a daily email from a local Dane County Wisconsin group with a summary and links to local news. I was getting one for Wisconsin state news but dropped it as too much of a 1 party view

Troy, I was wondering where my owl flew off to the Fall! Take care of him

enjoy the evening

Today we spent about 70 minutes in the cold and snow adding in some more foam. It was not snowing at the time but had snowed over night or early in the morning so there was about 2 new inches of white fluffy stuff.

We got one last piece in the far back installed, and a corner on a side job of the back wall, and the two straight pieces between that corner and the corner we did yesterday. As part of this we also had to clean the foam "lego edges" of snow, gravel and dirt, concrete, etc, knock concrete coating the upper part of the inner walls of the foam that is the top of the previous layer we are installing on top of, in order to be able to insert these metal "ladder" inserts that keep the wall straight, and then install the ladder inserts.

Tomorrow hopefuly we'll get another hour at lunch to finish the back wall to the garage. Or at least by Friday as I have to construct a part of the lower level at the garage first. My Brother in Law is coming Saturday morning to help so hopefully we'll get the total garage area down around the permimeter so we can move to the second layer of foam everywhere...

Good morning, all! Awoke to a very cool 45 degree morning. Sunny and windy.
Yesterday the cold front that brought Willie his snow blew through my area dropping 2 inches of rain. Just to our north are the communities of Pasadena and Deer Park. About 25 to 30 miles as the crow flies. An F2, possibly F3 tornado struck those 2 towns as well as Baytown. There was a lot of destruction to homes and businesses. Even a string of closed hoppers, maybe 15 or so, blown over, laying on their sides. For the first time ever, a "Tornado Emergency" was issued for the area by the National Weather Service. On the plus side, a few minor injuries were reported and no fatalities.

Jaz - Some nice paintings. I only do landscapes, as 3 year olds can do better faces than I.
Terry - Just looked, my 2013 Tacoma has a separate "audio" book, 66 pages.
Sherrell - seems like you might be a mean motor scooter and a bad go getter. (Ally Oop, the Argiles)
Willie - Nice train photos. Been quite a few years since we have seen any snow here.

Drug and side effects - I pretty much leave it up to my doctor. I do however remind him of the maintenance drugs I'm on, just in case.

DMV - I our area, you can plan on wasting at least half a day, appointment or not.

Trains - I did get a little switching in yesterday. Also found my switch list needs updating, as new structures were added and a couple old ones were removed.

As Guy would say, "a throw down photo"

STAY SAFE
LATER

Texas Hobo: Glad that your Ok and that in the towns that were hit there were no major injuries.

Interesting layout photo.

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those waiting breathlessly for snow reports.

We got 6.1 to 7 inches yesterday in the Fort. Our side looked like a 7 incher.

The editor got my manuscript back to me for the Eerie Falls book last night. So today is a three-pot coffee day while I re-read and make last tweaks.

Did the Colonel do it?
Will the ditzy human author discover the town's secret?
Did Willard get enough donuts?

You can find out in a few weeks!

Good morning. Wisconsin, at least my part has a white covering again. Less than 2” total the last 36 hours. It’s a very wet heavy snowblower clogging snow. We basically had snow flurries yesterday except around 8pm where I believe the majority of whatever depth of accumulation fell. I will get out there after daylight arrives.

Dinner and a musical tonight.

I believe after 6 weeks of use, the weekly Ozempic shot I give to myself for my diabetes control has finally kicked in. My blood glucose levels at wake up have been averaging 127, before lunch 135, b4 dinner 128 and 115 at midnight heading to sleep. That’s for the last 3 weeks now and I have experienced only 1 of the 86 (yep I counted) side effects listed on the “beware of” sheet. I am exhausted at around 2-3PM daily. But, we are adjusting other meds to compensate. It’s why I have been taking a 45 minute nap at those times. 12 pounds have also disappeared. This is with a 2 mile daily walk on the dreaded machine that lets you walk but goes nowhere. There has been no swimming since 1/3 and I miss that. The computer log that is automatically kept when I take my Blood Glucose levels tallies everything up and I then send it to my Endocrinologist weekly on Thursday. I did that this morning.

enjoy the day
