As I catch up on the posts here, I have the tv on and am watching pictures of tornados on the ground in western central Alabama.
Seeing pictures of destroyed house trailers with insulation and walls up in the trees.
So far, no reports of injuries or deaths.
Heavy rain and strong winds just started in my area. This is a relatively fast moving, narrow front that should move over us in about 30 minutes.
Glad this is rain instead of snow!

Do you make the number boards yourself, if so could you explain how you manage this, I have a few locomotives with missing number boards and would like to fix that.
Number boards are generally part of the locomotive shell. To change them, use appropriately sized decals, which are on most locomotive decal sets.
PRR used an after market number board on some classes of power. these are available from Cal Scale (Bowser) and possibly other manufacturers. Same finishing technique as outlined above.

Professional sports have become shortsighted. Big money quick is all they think. Games on free TV should be looked at as an investment into the future.
The NFL became America's most watched sport because of free, broadcast TV.

I also have a spreadsheet that has not been kept up to date. I agree it's not worth bothering to say anything to my greedy insurance company. I consider myself self-insured.
Last night, I either discovered a new wrinkle, or totally missed the link, but it used to be possible to access the game broadcast on both ESPN's web site, as well as NHL.com. In fact you had a choice of home or away. Last night I could not find a broadcast of the Caps - Flyers game on either web site, then remembered that a Philly FM outlet with a very strong signal, carried the Flyers game. I tuned in and was able to listen to the very exciting third period, and the Caps failed comeback effort.

MLB provides the radio access to Out of town game subscribers, so they can access games, especially blackout games, on radio. That's how I follow the O's when they are playing the Yankees or Mets. Got to make those pennys...they add up!

Christian: On your HO engines, 2 of your engine companies are the same company now. Burlington Northern and Santa Fe railroads merged in the mid-90's. And to that end, I often see NS, FerroMex and sometimes CN locomotives running attached to BNSF trains running through the town I live in.

Thank's, I've a few which I bought that were blank, probably replacement boards I think. Never thought of using small decals. :)

Hello Again !
Because I can't disassemble the Kato Unitrack without breaking something (I nailed it to the benchwork), I decided to keep the diesel. So it's a small N scale layout with a single locomotive.

You could probably remove the nails by either using a old set of wire cutters to grip the head and use an appropriate piece of timber as a fulcrum to pull them, assuming you've left enough of the nail showing, or drill the heads off the nails and remove the track, either method you would have to be extremely careful doing so.

Last option would be to rip the nails out anyway you could, and buy some more track. :(

When I renumbered my Atlas PRR RS-11s to conform to the 1966 renumbering, I had to replace the scale 8" numerals on the cab with 16" numerals, and change all four number boards with the new number. Genesis GP9s were easier, as the road number didn't change, so the number boards remained the same, while the cab numerals changed from 8" to 16".

Many of those CN units come from the Wabtec locomotive plant (formerly GE) in Ft Worth TX and are rebuilds from their shops. They have new paint jobs and are normally at the back of the locomotive consist. I don't think that they are actively providing power. Their facility is on the old BNSF main line there, as the new main now runs through the nearby Alliance Yard. The old main is still used by the Amtrak Heartland Flyer as well as many industries along the way.

EDIT: I may not still be correct about the Heartland Flyer using the old main.

Thank's, I've found a set at Microscale. :)

Afternoon All,

Got up this morning with a scratchy throat and stuffy head. Did another test and I'm still Covid negative. I've had this damn cold off/on for a couple of months. Ran several errands and finished up taking down the HOA lights. It may be 2 months before I get the kit I ordered.

Smudge- Like Joe said earlier I have used Bowser boards. If I can remember correctly, they come in 3 or 4 number versions. I use a P-Touch for the numbers.

Terry- I hope someone can enjoy some of my stuff after I'm done.

Christian- A huge amount of planning and work went into that but it's way too much spaghetti for me.

Willie- Your build looks very good.

Sherrel- Good video and great looking MOW train.

Troy- Your supper looks yummy. I'm having potato soup and sandwiches.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Curt: Could be the flu...Home Covid tests, don't test for the Flu...watch that it doesn't settle in your lungs.

Willie: We're on the mainline from Kansas City to Oklahoma City. Trains do a weird split either to the south towards Ponca City or on to Wellington Ks and Oklahoma City. The extension of the Heartland Flyer is supposed to go through Newton KS through Wichita. I'm not sure if it's terminating in Newton or moving east toward Kansas City. There's already a bus connection from Newton to OKC.
Most of these visitors are northbound.

I did visit their site, but unfortunately their site is down, so seeing a diagram and a part number isn't quite what I was hoping for.
But I've bookmarked the site and I'll go back after the weekend, hopefully it will be up and running by then.

Yep, when you do not pay insurance for
pets
water plumbing
kitchen apliances
et all
you are more likely to afford to pay for something that needs repair or replacement and choose what you want
i think when ever possible self insurance is the best way.
when we do jobs around the house we buy spare, then when it needs repair hopefully we bought the extra spare correct, and often I buying 4 is cheaper than a couple of singles anyway, so not too arduous,
storing it, labelling it, find it when you know you have can be a little more trying lol.
But often when some thing has gone wrong over the years we have the bit.
