Thanks Willie, that makes perfect sense. My comment about derailing was mainly about my past habit of slapping a car together without doing it correctly or doing it in a hurry and it then not running like it should.I don't think that there is a right or logical order for assembling any freight cars, much is just personal choice. With Accurail cars, I fully assembly them first, adding weight if needed to bring it close to NMRA recommendations; adding metal wheels and Kadee couplers. Then I run it a bit to test for reliability. Then comes decaling if needed and finally weathering last. The reasons that I do the weathering last are that I don't want to "over-handle" the car after the weathering since I mainly use powders; I can cover up any accidental glue smudges, and I can better blend the weathering where different parts are joined. Some of this may not be applicable in all situations.
You posted about derailing, It is rare to me that any freight car derails when properly assembled and weighted. I always use the truck tuner on every car, and while I use metal wheels on all of mine, I don't really think that their use reduces derails. Other than the occasional car that needs some filing on the underbody, almost all derails are the result of poorly laid or defective track. Engines are another thing though.

My other half had three monitors,we have macs and pcs,he also believes back up, we have a spare Wi-Fi so his home office is always good to go, he gets a new pc,mac, phone every two years via work, companies stopper donating them to charities because the charities had a tendency to sue for any little reason so that dried up,talk about shooing themselves in the foot, nice family insight, and it is nice to see you looking out for your old mate, and he was someone who had your back, And really nice that you have an old friend,I chased up a good friend from my youth we went to different secondary schools and was shocked to find she had died in her early thirties from cancer, she was a nice kid life can be cruel.Just received a new Microsoft Wired Desktop 600 keyboard and mouse. I ordered it from Amazon only yesterday. It's was actually sold as used, saving me over 25%. Anytime Amazon offers a used item I choose that. So far of the dozens of used items I have bought all have been new "open box" items rather then used.
Never mattered how much money I made, I always pinch pennies. I try not to buy cheap junk, but I try to buy everything cheap!
Thinking of cheap junk, the $100 Android 11 10inch tablet I bought from China works great, I love it! It has better battery life than my Amazon 10inch HD tablet, I got that cheap as well. Did I mention I'm cheap?
Maximize profits and minimize expenses. The way I see it, if I'm not making money, I'm losing money and I don't like to lose money!
I needed a new keyboard because my grandson's keyboard on his gaming computer failed and he helped himself to mine. Fortunately I have three other PCs and even more laptops. I could have gone to my parts shelf, I'm sure I have something that works, but I'm spoiled by these Microsoft 600 keyboard and mouse combos. I could have just bought the keyboard but I actually saved $1 buying the used combo and now I have another spare mouse.
You may ask why I have 3 PCs, redundancy, if one fails I have another. I built the third pc from spare parts I have accumulated. Its actually lighting fast with the new/used solid state hard drive from Amazon. Why I have so many laptops is another story. I had a run of broken laptops. I even sat on one! I bought replacements and finally repaired the others. Now I'm not sure how many I have, a half dozen, maybe.
My son only runs state of the art PCs. He works at home for Northrop Grumman. His home office looks like something out of Star Trek. He has three curved monitors side by side. The set up would drive me nuts, but he needs it. He gives me his old PCs, 2 years old tops. My son also built my grandson's state of the art gaming PC. Bruette Computers may be dormant, but the legacy lives on.
That reminds me, I promised my friend I would put together a PC for him after the new year. His old PC failed back in October and I gave him a laptop until I had time to put something together for him. I'm not overly generous. Its much more gratitude than generosity. This friend bought the first PC I ever built. He helped kick start Bruette Computers and I will never forget it. He normally would not accept a gift, but he had a run of tough luck since he had a stroke, he is stable now, thank God. We go back to the days when we were headbanger street rats. Him and I could stand back to back against anyhting. He was built like a defensive tackle and I was built like a defensive end. We were like thunder and lightning. Now we are broken down old men, we can't even stand for long. Thank God we are still here.
My wife and daughter both have flu like symptoms from the shot. My 89 year old mom is fine, no symptoms from the booster. She was cooking
and cleaning her apartment when I called to check on her! I feel fine, I just keep falling asleep since I got home.
Got to give me grandson this keyboard to put back on the PC in the family room.
Have a good night Everybody!
It takes a little getting used to but you’ll love it in timeSWMBO and I got I-Phone 13s today, spent 2 hours at the Verizon store getting them set up and data transferred, now I cant even use the damn thing. I want my Android back!![]()
Proper punctuation is important. It makes all the difference between helping your uncle, Jack, off the horse, and helping your uncle jack off the horse.I hate punctuation : I am appallingly lazy;I hate going back and correcting my English;I hate word checker; "I did consider going for an even longer sentence; grammatical errors don’t bug the hell out of me. I went through this a couple of years ago, in the other direction. I finally ended up returning to the world of Apple after trying to get used to Android.SWMBO and I got I-Phone 13s today, spent 2 hours at the Verizon store getting them set up and data transferred, now I cant even use the damn thing. I used that line on the wife once, and she's still pissy about it!It takes a little getting used to but you’ll love it in time
I used to be a pa and secretary took dictation in high powered meetings and had to be perfect with presentation and punctuation,so now I let it slide, the reason I can talk in one breath is cos I rarely get a word in edgewise with the other half whenever he learns anything new he runs it all past me, he does a lot of research for our hobbies. And his work, you would be amazed at the amount of things I have no use for that I can discuss, often he has a business conference call then runs part of it past me, it helps him work it out, and sometimes help helps him work out a way to discuss it with others in the business who don’t understand what he does but have the power to okay which projects progress, but has no practical use to me what so ever, but it does pay our bills, I have been dragged into every hobby he takes up, sometimes up kicking and screaming….and did you ever hear the story how I got into model railway …….connect the dots. After that statement, "Your poor Hubby" springs to mind![]()

Well I cheat cos I use word and excel on my apple in preference to apples option, as I came from pc, or use their basics when not doing complicated entries, and I only do the complicated math on the excel,so I do get your choices, and to be fair I have never owned android so have nothing worthwhile on its pros and cons.….the wife got pissy…grins…..if she didn’t throw something count yourself lucky lolI used that line on the wife once, and she's still pissy about it!

Sometimes a wagon benefits from a little weight,so a lead weight or some real ballast,as long as the loco does not then strain to pull a full train Weighted in this manner. Thanks Willie, that makes perfect sense. That's from running all those loaded cars. The room is kept at 48% humidity and 68f degrees. I wonder if running the fireplace as much as I have lately dried something out. Strange though, neither on the rail or ties is any glue residue. But for it to show up 7 years after install boggles my mind.

Seems strange coming from someone who lives in the UK.;I hate going back and correcting my English
I like 2 and a half men Charlie sheen was much better, and when the replacement and some of the pc correct kit hit in I watched it a lot less as some episodes made me wince, humour in programmes nowadays can make me wince.Sherril, I watch those once in a while and they are funny, but I'm amazed how some of the stuff they did on there got past the censors. And while I'm thinking of 2 1/2 men, is anyone following Jeopardy these days?![]()
We have only had expansion issues in hot weather, but you say you. Temps are stable, glue may have dried and crumbled, not heard if it, but it is possible, was it a watered down pvc. Maybe if you use the railway a lot of those years some vibration over time has worked the track free, again a question I have not heard of it but it might have occurred, from what you say it should be an easy fix by reglueing keep us updated it would be interesting to know. The room is kept at 48% humidity and 68f degrees.
