Apparently, I'm on my way to a state prison because I committed a lot of Major Crimes here (multiple user accounts - it's again the forum Law). WTF ! I'll wear a wonderful orange suit for the rest of my life. FBI, CIA and NSA are on their way.
I'm pretty sure that I'm going to join a chain gang very soon...🤪😜

Ken, I meant to post this earlier.

Amazon will deliver to any valid address, even groceries. I've sent things all over the country from the comfort of my couch. Many deliveries arrive the next day or even same day. If you are a prime member or willing to pay an extra fee.

Prime gives free returns and prime tv but when buying you need to check which are prime, and sometimes it is cheaper to buy not prime and risk the retur…life is always a gamble

We have done well with Amazon and are not prime members. Terry buys enough to get us free shipping and she always asks if I need anything. Have you ever heard a model railroader say no to buying something.

Louis: I did the same thing here. I let another member get to me as well and just went through most of my old posts and deleted....When I came back, Sherrel figured out my former name and I said I'd behave better. As Willie said, it was the DC vs. DCC threads that got a bit heated, so I'll stick to my DC stuff.

Christian: Kansas was one of my go to bands in the day. Still can listen to them all day.
As long as people are not personally rude I think a robust argument standing up for what you like is okay, I use peco 70 and have run foul of the modellers who use more expensive ‘more accurate’ track, but if you do the math and my other half did they also have flaws sone flaws the peco 7o does not have, building you own is an option….if you have a machine shop,an immense amount of time, and a team or a not too large layout but we have almost 44 foot twice and 4 feet deep plus track in a second loft,Peco 70 is easy to shape fits well and does me nicely for old and new stock bogies, so if I post on forums that strive for “excellence” then when they ask about my track then bemoan it, I smile nicely let them have their say and say I do not have the time to do it on my layout, end of, polite but firm, not apologising, and 9/10 times I look at the work of these excellent modellers they either have a super tiny layout to exacting standards but basically nothing to play with,or my work is still better than theirs overall. if people are so small they have to knock others it says more about them than it says about the person being knocked.
We all make personal choices, why we do something,or don’t do something, and that is what they are, now if a person asks for advice on improving something and they say a specific area or a general go for it,we’ll then if people wade in they get the good and the bad,but they still get to choose what THEY~ wish to uptake, and not be bullied by others.
I look at the likes of santafewillies layout and am gobsmacked, how he gets so much in,and done, and time to share, and like any large modellers some areas are more advanced than others, one person is likely to struggle to get everything up to top notch, I have tonnes of areas that are half done, part started, not yet fit for photographing, awaiting me to get off my butt and sort them….examples of part started then basically abandoned work as I do something else, and the last two years I have basically done very very little most of what you see is old work,as my working day is about animals, garden, and other hobbies, plus general cooking cleaning washing.

This is St Margarets named after my mil.
Who loved to shop. I can can squeeze so close up, a small station is at the rear near the car park, with 2 tracks leaving this loft to go to the other, and it sits over the top of 9 tracks that act as storage for non running rolling stock,I have carved the road to the pavements and coloured, but no lamps no road markings it is pretty much abandoned as it is not able to reference real life photographs which I concentrate on more, but I will get to it….eventually.

My personal opinion is do not be the first person to throw stones, chances are you do live in a glass house and deserves to get them lobbed back, pith helmet essential!

And do not forget except for the odd structure being weathered, these are bought in a box as you see no construction required,so not time input.just cash investment. And yet people will rave over them, for me personally I like them, BUT if I had the time I prefer a kit bashed or scratch build every time.

edited…oh and it is going to be a typical market town on market day the car park will double with the stalls. The stalls will have to be kit or homemade,I know what I plan and can make them fairly easily have bought a couple of stalls to evaluate, but time is the kicker.

A flat base, some plastercine shapes or a carved table top easy as I like that type of thing, the books would need a flat edge pressed, the fruit rolled shaped shoved on a thin sheet to secure, antiques, bread, meat, clothes from tissue and hung on copper all doable,I added the green tissue skirt, and the little price labels,it would be super fast as I have the plastic,or wood …even talking. About it bugs me as I can do it really fast, and I have a garden implement pack and a greenhouse kit which could be utilised,if anyone hads any stalls I would love pictures for reference and ideas.as you can see this has been knocking about for ages as those trees were upgraded years ago.

there is three of these stalls with wheels I put them where they are visible and do long skirts on others where I do not have wheels, or do easle legs,I always place the best bits in main eye view then out of focus or part block anything not as good, people automatically assume everything is up to snuff, smoke and mirrors.

You and I joined the same day I think.

for those of us worrying about the numbers right now, I suggest following Dr Nurse-educator John Campbell PhD. He's doing well with the science and the data combined. Yes, we need to be cautious, but we should be optimistic.

His channel on youtube here. The last two vids he posted are well worth watching when you have 20ish minutes.
We follow him, he has been on the button over so many things including prediction, and anything not one hundred percent on the ball has not been anything to write home about,he gives excellent advice and is not racist he covers all skin types for instance which is important for vit d uptake. And cautious optimism, as a asthmatic I would now wear a mask in crowds anyway but likely behind a light scarf to stop being seen as a nutter.
a;though he is English he regularly looks at EU US and UK statistics and what is likely to happen as they are all interactive he also checks out point of origin places comprehensively so data and details on the Omicron origins and effects on Africa, and other hot spots so good for travel indicators as well, or family overseas.

Good Morning All. Clear and 36°, headed to 56 today before another severe cold spell tomorrow. Crazy up and down weather for the next ten days after that. No snow though! :)

Thanks for all of the Birthday well wishes, funny that I don't feel any older. And thanks also for all of the likes on my posts, even without the pictures.

START OF RANT: OK, I am beginning to be rather bored with all of the Omicron BS. Every expert has a different opinion, government paid experts are waffling all over the place and the President has punted. The VP who famously said that she couldn't trust anything developed under Operation Warp Speed has had all three jabs that were developed! It has gotten ridiculous Testing does nothing except to tell if you have it, doesn't fix anything and I am still looking in the mail for my free at-home test kit that was promised months ago. I do truly feel sad for anyone affected, but my family's recent experience with Omicron points out that we should be more worried about the flu. I'll still use common sense with social distancing and the mask, and have received all of the shots. RANT OVER.

OK, I made it out to the train shed yesterday for the longest time frame in the last four months. Thank the Lord for my wife's recovery!
I was able to paint the parking/loading area at the new DPM generic structure. Still haven't figured out what type of industry/warehouse it will be yet. Then I added some additional ground cover to the non-paved areas. Photos tomorrow after the glue/water dries and it doesn't shine so much.
Here are pictures of the Christmas booty that I received at the much delayed Christmas festival that our family had Monday.

I see that one of my daughters took items off my Amazon Christmas list and went to the LHS to get them at a 20% off MSRP instead. Good for her. The 100 painted figures in the last picture was much improved from the previous package of 100 Chinese figures that I received two years ago. There's 19 poses and very little duplication in colors.

Still a lot of these ladies.

Unfortunately their quality control hasn't improved much.

Most can be easily fixed, but there are colors on some that will be hard to match.

OB Ken - An Accurail kit is a good kit to keep your patience at bay. I really like all of their kits, even the newer more complex ones.
Tom - Include me in the list of folks who use chart tape for tie-downs. I also use the white and yellow for road striping.
Guy - I have found that the roofing felt fades to an anthracite color pretty quickly under fluorescent lights, so I do not paint it.
James - Thankfully for me, I don't have to deal with the winter kit in the car. Besides living in an area that rarely sees really severe winter weather, I also pay attention to the weather forecast (despite the NWS poor record) and I know better than to get out.
Karl - Likewise here on the Moderna shots. First two didn't bother me at all, but the booster knocked me on my ass for half of the following day. A real shame since it was a beautiful day outside.
Sherrel -

Who wouldn't miss home after moving to CA!
Tom O - I always kinda liked that artwork back to the time you first posted it.
Jaz - Thanks a lot, but I am not a big sweets eater at all.
Troy - I have occasionally added carrots to corned beef hash, but I like it better without them.
George -

That used to be my goal, but lately it's been catching up on posts on this forum!!!😍😍😍

Everybody have a great hump day. Stay safe.
These models benefited from skin painting and you could bo a lot of bikinis and short pants and skirts :D

i chopped the hats down on some,
