Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 62°. No, not a misprint, it's really 62° out there; quite warmish for this early on a February morning. Doesn't seem to be any real change in our pleasant weather pattern forecast except possible rain on Saturday. But it's needed.

I am also headed out to a cardiologist visit this morning at the early hour of 9:15. This is a an appointment scheduled before my recent hospitalization but the timing is good. Need to leave around 8:40.

Spent most of yesterday outside enjoying the nice spring day. I am close to having all of the leftover firewood re-stacked into one stack. Somewhat unusual that I haven't needed any in about a week and don't see any need coming up. I usually have to heat at least 20 days in February.
Sadly, I have had to make a tough decision on the garden this year. Due to both the dry weather conditions and health, I will not be doing an early spring garden; Onions, Spinach, Broccoli, Peas, etc. I did spend about 90 minutes getting it ready for mid-spring stuff like Green Beans, Peppers, Squash and Tomatoes while puttering about yesterday. The recent ice storm has added just barely enough moisture to the ground to enable tilling; and if it does rain any appreciable amount on Saturday, I should be able to till early next week. This is only the second time in 54 years that I don't have an early spring garden. Finished up the day by grilling some 1.25" boneless pork chops on the charcoal. Note to self: pick up more charcoal this week.

Out in the train shed yesterday was pretty much a repeat of the past few days. Ran trains and did minor infrastructure work. Tied up loose, dangling under-layout wiring in a few places and ID'd some other wires that I traced. Mostly I did that when I installed them years ago, but I always missed a few.

Michael -
I've never seen a football game at a RUSH concert. ????
Saw a few huddles though!!!
Hughie - I had never heard of Bad Bunny either until all of the crap about his Super Bowl appearance. I didn't care one way or the other.
17 Bar Mills kits - you got me by one. I love them.

Gotta go early today due to doc appointment. Everyone have a terrific Tuesday.

I did a little more digging trying to figure out why so many are triggered by Mr. Bunny's jersey from the show.

Seems his uncle moved to SanFran, loved the NFL, and returned often to winter in PR with Bunny's family, teaching the young Bunny about the NFL and the 49ers...

"1964 is the year my uncle Cutito was born, my mother’s brother," the statement read in Spanish. "The little I know about the NFL is thanks to him."

Hello again,

Been back at the office a little while. One one side, I'm glad it done. Feels like full range of motion with no locking has been achieved. On the downside, ss the local is wearing off, the arthritis in the next finger is making itself known again.

They came in at 7:10 to apply the local, took me to the procedure room at 7:25, I was walking to the truck at 7:42.

Did my taxes on line in about 70 minutes. An hour after I received the emails that the feds and state had accepted them I received another email.....

The tax forms from a brokerage account we closed in January were ready......oh crap. I forgot about that one. Now I have to file amended returns

Good morning to all the confused Bad Bunny folks out there! He’s been around lots of years and as for his lyrics, try listening to people in the current music industry, his lyrics Sunday were lame. They rarely bleep on the radio anymore as it should be since music is free expression. His show did exactly what the NFL wants the Super Bowl shows to do, bring eyes to the NFL. It’s the most watched SB 1/2 time in history and the Orangeman today will be taking accolades from his followers for the success of both 1/2 time shows. 145 million for one and 5 million for the other, total 150 million plus is a great number and I’m sure the owners are happy as they count the advertising $$$ coming in. Any publicity is good publicity. Was it a great 1/2 time show, no but in my eyes it was very good., the game was meh… YMMV

Weather in Wisconsin! We will be in the mid 40’s today

Plumber is here now changing the FO water system filters. I did it one time and you have to know your limits and patience level. That 1 time exceeded mine, well worth the $380 it will cost including the $75 travel fee. Oh yeah, it’s also part of the happy wife, happy life deal…

The quote for bid on the Ethanol plant is coming along. Putting together the Walthers silos is a huge deal in this project. The silos go together quickly but I then putty the seams and that is time consuming. I have notes from a prior build using the silos but nothing noted about the putty and sanding times. I re-read the request for bid a few times last night. There is no date noted when he wants this. I texted this morning asking for a date of delivery as that may change my thinking

Be well

Good morning folks, 60 here and overcast, might bump to 70 today with rain coming in. Back is much improved, almost back to normal, so that is a real blessing.
@troyphoto As another long time gamer, I would be honest on the podcast. You don't need to give names, but be honest in that you, as an experienced player, left this game because of folks who made the atmosphere toxic. I have kicked players out of games I was running in the past because of behavior [and in one case being foul smelling] because they were running good players off. It is something that the gaming community has to face, and address, or it can kill a game.
@Patrick, praying for your hand.
@Kusojiji Praying for your eye.
The rest of you miscreants, have a good day! 😁

Actually quite a bit. Hadn't seen you in a long time, welcome back.
Yes, it has been a long time. And unfortunately, I still do not have time to read all the coffee shop posts. But I do hope to be more active. I laid the first turnout of the Industrial Switching center last night and am excited to finish it out.

Good to hear from you and other regulars back from the day!

Thank you. I have smooth full motion at this point. The local hasn't worn off yet, but like most things, I have a high pain threshold.

Willie the dishwasher and my trips to the grocery store. I researched this and they say it's great for you. I think it's like doing a computer reset. Clear out everything and start new. I was thinking about having one meal a week, but I just might do 30 days and clean all out of the fat and toxic chemicals I've acquired over the years. They do say you still have to do your walks etc. so your muscles don't deteriorate. I'm on my 4th day. Swal
After a few days it becomes easy but you should make sure you get electrolytes. Taking some prebiotic fiber helps keep your digestive system flora healthy. That’s what my research showed.

Longer term fasting you can take clear liquids (apple juice etc) in small amounts.

I’ve thought about it. I did it for about 5 or 6 days long ago in Germany. I just drank a small amount of orange juice and/or apple juice and lots of water.

Your right chadbag after 3 days it becomes easier. I've lost my desire to eat. I should have no fat around my liver, pancreas and kidneys or anywhere else when this is over. It should also cure any insulin resistance Swal

Oh well, I gotta take my truck to the shop and let them remove the drive shaft. I'll take the driveshaft to Wichita Falls and have it checked for proper balance and or any damage. I'm really hoping it is out of balance so it can be fixed and my vibration issue will be fixed. Otherwise, if the driveshaft is OK, nobody seems to have any idea what is causing the vibration issue. Its always something.
John, is this the same vibration you were looking for last year? Or was that someone else? Did you drain the differential looking for metal?

I wonder what Spanish speaking families with children watching thought of his depraved lyrics.

If you listen to almost any song played on the radio today you will find Bunny’s lyrics are tame. Musicians have the right of expression and many including Taylor Swift definitely take advantage.

It’s no different today with lyrics than it was with Michael Jackson and others grabbing the crotch or Miley Cyrus twerking. It’s a change we are not accustomed to . It’s not depraved it’s a changing world.

Look in the mirror if you are a boomer like me and blame yourself not the youngsters of today. We let our kids learn without much guidance. “ They will find the way or let them learn”.

I dislike the disrespect people younger than me give their elders. But I can tell you my generation stopped with the Mr and Mrs and started calling elders by 1st name. So it is generational.

Just look at US politicians, not just the big guy but most if being challenged. They have no problem calling other politicians wife’s names or vulgar descriptions, no problem with calling people they don’t like retarded or morons! I can go on if you want But Bad Bunny’s show was good. It was a hell of a beat and passionate. YMMV of course and from your responses above I take it you didn’t like it.

Do you speak Spanish or have the lyrics translated? I used Gemini to translate for me on Monday morning. But I watched the show live

Nothing personal Rhb Michael, just a civil opposing view

Be well

I'm not interested in football and unless a 70s or 80s band was playing I wouldn't watch the show either...which as I stated in another post, I can't understand the show/football connection.

Younger people address me as Mr. Carter, or sir if they don't know me. I still haven't quite gotten used to the 'Mr Carter' yet. I still think my dad is standing behind me somewhere. But this is farm country. Kids are raised to respect people older than they are. Old fashion values do live on in some parts of the country.

I understand times change. They did in my generation too, but change is not always good, and it still doesn't make it morally right even if it is accepted by the masses.

It's a sad commentary on the state of current US education that so many people don't understand that Puerto Rico is part of the US.

And they would rather be offended by someone singing in Spanish (I guess you don't like opera) than by someone in power trafficking young girls.

But, that's where we are today, and the people supporting this claim to be religious.
