Well, howdy there internet peeps and those who like to wear three shirts at once even in the summer.

It's Troy again.

Not sure what is going on. My life, the world, etc.

I'm up, with coffee. Trying to get through the day without taking an advil for the sciatica. I'd been on it for a month and I'm starting to fight headaches in the morning when not taking any the last three days.

I can't do aspirin due to my asthma, but here's an interesting vid from the History Guy on aspirin.

Good morning from a continuing warming trend in Wisconsin. At 6:30am the actual temperature is +11 and the high later will break the freezing mark if it really gets to 33. I am ignoring the -2 real feeling temperature this morning!

The grandson, mom and his dad are heading to the old stomping grounds of Mosinee, Wi. Home of where his mom and his uncle played their youth hockey, where I was on the hockey association board for 12 years and president for too many (6)! A 2.25 hour trip when the weather is nice so they should be leaving any minute. The granddaughter who is “tired of Brook’s hockey games” is being dropped off here. We can watch the grandson play on a live stream app! At 2pm the Badger Women will again take on Bemidji State in Minnesota at 2. Badgers won yesterday 5-1. That will be on the Big 10+ network. This is the last regular season game as conference playoff starts at home next Friday.

I picked up more intermodal trailers, containers and chassis yesterday morning. I will weather them all, keep some and sell some. I already sold the trailers, unweathered! Today I will research the time frame that the containers appeared.

George: Good point. I was thinking about my experience during and after a Hazardous Material Storage Facility fire in Chester Pa in February 1978. As I age and come down with some somewhat unusual ailments 47 years later. I was further reminded about this this week as a massive Industrial Fire tool out a large facility in Abington, PA, outside Philly. Burned for 3 days at least. Who knows what was in there. Then tonight, another massive fire in a scrap yard in Camden, NJ spewed tons of ugly black smoke across the Delaware into Pennsylvania. If you don't glow in the dark, the green and purple flames will get ya. It's all safe, yeah, Right.
Boris one of the projects that was going on during the changing of turbines was to replace some of the water pipes from the Hudson River that cools the reactors. There was a thing called the back transformer that receives its power form the 2 reactors that are not offline. The thing is as big as a house. We're working next to this thing for days I asked the safety officer there what about the electrical field around this thing we were working next to. It must be huge. He said, don't worry it won't hurt you. I called my local and said I'm out of here sent someone else. It's an opportunity to make a lot of money fast but I need to be heathy when I retire.

Morning all,

13° and clear going for a high in the mid 40's, mid 50's tomorrow. Car washes going to be busy this next week. Trying to figure how many stay open in Wichita with the water restrictions ongoing from last summer.

Swal: I am also no longer responsible for any household debt, and it's a great feeling.

Its hard to tell from the photos, but I see a lot of 45's. How many 40' are in the bunch?

Good for you Patrick you're one of the smart ones. Once this house and our 2 cars were paid off, I said, no more loans and I haven't borrowed any money since. The government they're not so smart.

Ahhhh... debt.

We do use our credit card. My author biz needs monthly and annual charges to something. And we use the points for giving gift cards to the daughter, etc.

Wife is trying to get the condo paid off. Last I asked, we're just under 10 years balance, on a 20 year note. We've been here 5 years. I think she said we're really about 7 years left on the note.

Stuff like that always worried me...If you were in the wrong place on an E60, the "Smoothing Reactor" would magnatize my wrist watch...Wonder what else it did? That damn fire ended my Firefighting Career. Good thing I hadn't left the Railroad yet, eh?

In any event, every time something goes wrong with my health I wonder.......

Good Morning All. Clear, sunny and already 25° after an overnight low of 19°. According to the latest forecast, it won't reach freezing again for the next ten days at least. Upper-60's and low-70's starting Monday. About damn time!

Yesterday was a total honey-do day for me. I moved furniture and moved it back. A few other tasks as well. I am hoping to make the delayed planting of onion plants today and tomorrow. Half each day. No matter which of three methods that I use, I will have "onion thighs" when it's all done. That's when the back of my legs feel the strain of stretching for too long of a time. I can bend over, squat, or kneel and bend over and all three do the same; although bending over is the least straining. But it makes the blood flow to my head and has caused some dizziness in the past. Not recently though. I haven't even looked for the greens that I planted 10 days ago, those seeds are quietly waiting below the surface waiting for enough warming. According to the USDA, it is 30° at a 2" depth. Greens need about 40° to germinate.

Just a tad too chilly out in the train shed yesterday for any extended work. Ran a few trains and emptied a mousetrap. I'll get out there today as it should be warmer, but gardening is #1 priority today. Fortunately the onion bed was tilled before the recent (was it 2 weeks ago?) rain. Here is a picture of the two homes that I posted about yesterday.

I have a spare front porch that I will use on the one on the right, although I may turn it around like the one on the left. Gotta find that porch first!

Patrick - Funny how the use of that robot vacuum seems to really grow on one. We now use ours about 95% of the time.
The gap in the track doesn't look too severe to me. If it ever becomes a problem, on my old layout I fixed it by jury-rigging a piece of styrene to fit the gap, super-glued it and painted it brown. One reason to run trains through there for a few months to test it out.
Louis - A dozen computers? Computer maintenance (or use) takes away from your modeling/layout time! ;)
Tom O -
There are 84 containers. There are more 45’ to the 40’s but I have not finished that part of the breakdown. There are 46 chassis
That would make one hell of a container yard.
Swal - I haven't had a loan since I paid off the house in 1995. I pay cash for cars and use the credit card just for convenience...paid off every month with no interest.

Ah! The weekend for many. Everyone have a great Saturday.
