Good morning all!

Slow start this morning. Woke up around 5:30, fed and let the dog out and went straight back to bed and slept in till 9:30.

Currently 24F only heading up to 29F, but it is mostly sunny. Looks like winter will be back with us for the next 10 days. Yesterdays winter weather advisory never materialized. We had a 20 minute burst of snow in the afternoon, but with temps hovering at 33F, it melted shortly after it stopped. No freezing rain as was predicted.

Nothing much again on the agenda today.

Have a safe Sunday everyone!

Morning again,

Doc in the box doesn't open until 10, despite the sign on the door saying 8. So I came back home and finished the boxcar.

Rolls nicely and the coupler height is good.

After working with the grandson on ballast for his N scale (Nothing glued yet, I think I know what I was doing wrong.
Below is one of my lift bridges:

I have a ballasting tool and attempted to use it. The lift bridge isn't glued, but dry tested. I think I was trying to get the sides of the cork underlay as well as the track. To my eye the lift bridge looks better.

Willie: I have bookmarked your ballasting thread, but haven't looked yet. I will be shortly. Thanks for starting it.
Patrick, best to you are the grillwork!

That GN car in the picture, what brand? Are the roof walks wavy?

I have 3 on the bench to finish weathering

Superbowl: Who cares.
I do! 😁

Super Bowl LIX (59) Chiefs vs. Eagles

The Chiefs will try to do something no other team has ever done in the history of the Super Bowl. Win three consecutive Lombardi Trophies!

The Packers won SB I & SB II

The Dolphins won SB VII & SB VIII

The Steelers won SB IX & SB X

The Steelers won SB XIII & SB XIV

The 49ers won SB XXIII & SB XXIV

The Cowboys won SB XXVII & SB XXVIII

The Broncos won SB XXXII & SB XXXIII

The Patriots won SB XXVIII & SB XXXIX

The Chiefs won SB LVII & SB LVIII. Can they be the first to win three consecutive Super Bowls? I hope so!

I started the benchwork for the new engine service yard location. I could fit it where I put the new station so it's going here instead.

My wife and daughter went to the mall this afternoon-virtually empty. Everyone must be
watching the super bowl. We went to a restaurant for dinner tonight. For the hour we
went at and considering it's Sunday night, the restaurant normally would be at least 50% full.
Instead about 10% full. Had a nice dinner and didn't have to wait forever for the food.
Thank you super bowl.

Evening all,

Old97: I was drilling the weight plate for the GN car I was working on. I had it in a vice grip in the left hand and drilling with the right. When the drill punched through, the torque twisted the vice grip and the drill bit hit my index finger. I am on an antibiotic and may still need a tetanus shot as the clinic didn't want to give one if I was within 5 years. Too soon I guess.

TomO: That car is an AHM/Riverossi. The top walk is straight.

I had no interest in the Super Bowl, ads, and especially zero interest in T Swift. Did not watch, though I accidentally saw the half time score when I was trying to find an app on my Apple TV so we could watch a (religion study) related "podcast". I noticed the then lopsided score so I'll admit to Googling two more times towards what I thought would be the end. I saw it at 40-6 and then went and checked the Final and saw the 40-22. I guess T Swift wasn't put in to save the day.

Andy Reid, the Chiefs coach, is a decent human, but I don't know how is as a coach, though he does seem to try and be more than a plain technical coach to his players, but also try and help them learn to be better men. The QB Mahomes, Mr, Swift, and some other player were on a video ad before Christmas for the Giving Machines of "Light the World" charity campaign that happens each holiday season. I know that Reid was behind them doing that video.

So I kind of feel bad for the Chiefs in that regard, but I had no real pick in the game and it "ist mir egal" as we say in German on who won. (Something like "I couldn't care less" in meaning).

I did not take in any Super bowl last night. wife and daughter had it on, but started to lose interest in it about the 3rd quarter. I was watching a documentary on the Nasa Apollo project.

We shall see what today brings.

Have a safe day everyone!

Best to you on the antibiotics. I sliced my finger tips and went to Urgent Care a few years ago. I also was within 5 years of my tetanus shot and did not get a new one. I think it’s more an insurance issue than medical. But who knows now a days

Thanks on the GN car info. I have 3 GN boxcars being weathered for a friend from Rapido and the roof walks are crap. Wavy and some were popped off the supports

I ended up watching. There’s nothing Taylor Swift can do about being shown on TV. If she was shown for 10 seconds yesterday that was a lot. Fox TV showed more of eagles fan Ann Hathaway by at least triple the Swift time. I had no rooting interest but Terry and ai both were interested in the 1st half commericals. None were that memorable for me but maybe the Jesus Loves You One because it sticks with me

I do not feel bad for the Chiefs and no joy for the Eagles. It was a time killer for us between commericals

Funny though, the USA spends $20,000,000. yesterday for a sitting a President to watch the game and then he leaves before the game is over

Differences are a good thing, it’s why the world goes on.
