funny story about my dad and hes teeth.
he also has a thing like shown in the above picture. maybe over the years it came a bit loos iam not shure.
but he was driving his truck on the highway. he was a truck driver for 40 years. it was summer, window open suddenly he had to sneeze.
and than it happened, his implant was flying trough the window on the highway. well on the weekend when i was meeting him, he only ate soup because he had no teeth to bite :D

but he was laughing when he told us the story :D

I started to spray paint all my station and industry parking lots with a can textured spray paint yesterday and it clogged the spray head within 2 seconds. I get the compressor going blow out the clog and again within 2 seconds it clogs again. I guess the particles in the textured paint can are causing the clog. Maybe shake the can harder to get the particles of the bottom of the can? I'll give it another try today.

what was the temperature?
normaly spraycans need around 20c to work great. had this too the other day with one of my primer spraycans. color all over but not on the model :D

My United Health Care supplement payment use to be $212.00 a month a few years ago. Now it's $353.00 a month. What will it be in 2 years from now?

Well howdy there internet peeps, and those with implants, dentures, and/or teeth

It's Troy again.

Today would have been "Crazy Granny's" (my mother) 83rd birthday.

Crazy Granny 2.jpg

Sweetie has me on that diet thing, but I told her I was going to celebrate. Since we don't have Mom's favorite food (ice cream) I had to dig into the secret stash in the freezer and get some Xmas cookies out.

Spent some time reading my Conrail history book, and about engines last night. I'm still shocked that the EMD assembly plant is in the town where I attended college for two degrees.

Speaking of teeth, when Mom passed, I was stuck home with Covid. So my sisters had to clean out her room at the Nursing Home. Sis #1 was all worried because she had swept up the last bits of stuff into her purse, including Mom's dentures (top and bottom). She was convince she had to get them to the funeral home.

I told her that Mythbusters got dentures from funeral homes. They remove them as part of the preparation. Even the funeral director told my sister the same thing. (Sis didn't believe me). Every time I chat with her, she reminds me she still has mom's teeth and wants to know what she should do with them?

So now the great granddaughters are thinking of putting the dentures in a jack o lantern this coming Halloween and make it's smile real... because Granny would have loved the idea.

Good morning from chilled So Central Wisconsin. I did not check the temperature before my walk this morning and at the 1 mile mark I decided I needed to get home. So a 2 mile walk because at 14f degrees it should have been fine. The real feel though was a “damp” feeling +4. It went right to the bones. But it definitely woke me up.

Teeth/dentists/implants. The son left college after 4 semesters because he could make “big” money on the road as an electric piano or guitar player in rock bands between interning at the Electric Lady studios for 10 months as a sound engineer. It’s where he met and had many lunches with a girl working there, Stefani Germanotta now known as Lady Gaga. He had teeth issues. In New York he was quoted $18,000 for 4 teeth in 2006. Back in Wisconsin he was quoted $7000 and we offered to pay it as he had no dental insurance. In Austin, Texas in 2019 he finally had 1 tooth done at $6000 and it was a nightmare as the implant was rejected. I know people have had success with implants but outright rejection, inflamed gums and infections during the healing process are somewhat common but rarely spoken about. He ended up getting the 3 others replaced as a bridge as they were luckily together.

Today! Ms. Grumpy was at it again Tuesday. It’s a side affect of the Trigeminal Neuralgia pain medicines she is taking. She has an appointment tomorrow with another Pain Management specialist who “excels” at helping TN patients. This doctor though is out of network but Terry is prepared to be fighting with insurance to reimburse us. This is going to be an interesting …

Car search. The Maverick had not been delivered to the dealership as of noon yesterday. It was supposed to be there Friday. The deal is kaput and there is nothing I am looking at, want to look at or even thinking about. I told Terry if she still wants to replace the Jetta and stay a 1 car household fine, go buy something. If she wants her own car again, go buy it and leave me the Jetta. What a miserable vehicle search we just went through.

Trains, I cut enough 1/4” and 3/8” dowels 12” long yesterday to make 81 weeping/trembling Aspen trees. I figure though I’ll ruin 10-20% of the trees during the process. I should be able to convert the damaged to pine trees. I threw them in a white stain mix yesterday afternoon around 4 and pulled them out after dinner around 7. A seagull gray from Tamiya will be sprayed on after I drill the branch insertion holes over the next few days. I will create a jig for my dremel drill and stand to drill the holes. I may have enough yellow Aspen leaves for 1/2 the trees which is still double the grove of 21 I promised for 3/1. I need to check at Scenic Express for more leaves. Branches, I have enough for maybe 2 full trees but definitely have enough wire. I will start the branch building during a nightly NHL hockey game. I should get 5 trees worth of branches per game.

Soda deal of the week is 3 for $15.00 16.9oz 6 pack bottles. Not worth even thinking about.

We are heading out to breakfast in about 45 minutes

Enjoy your day

Good mornin' y'all. It's 30 and partly cloudy in Cheyenne with a wind chill of 21, winds from SSW @ 9mph gusting to 11. Humidity is 60%, forecast high of 56 and a low tonight of 28 and no precipitation in the immediate forecast although expecting some snow Friday evening and night.
After being in seclusion since we arrived last Thursday, Phelix the Cat made his first public appearance yesterday. He's been under the bed coming out just to eat, drink, and visit the litter box. D#2/SIL have four clean, quiet, and well mannered kitties. I'm surprised there hasn't been more hissing and pissing with Phelix. They've all come downstairs to check things out but Phelix is a bit wary of the staircase. He's considerably larger than they are, so I guess they're all maintaining some respect.
No word from the movers yet.
Y'all have a good day and take care.

Good Morning All. Foggy and 44° after a chilly day yesterday. Kinda the same today at only 68°, but it will be cloudy and windy again. Low tonight of just 63° will give way to sunshine and mid-70's tomorrow. Pleasant weather until Sunday when it gets cold again for a week.

Regarding our teeth discussion yesterday, my dentist is also an oral surgeon so he could do the implants in the same office. I did go see another dentist who was not an oral surgeon and he recommended my guy without knowing I had already seen him. It is as some have pointed out, the most expensive option.
Funny story about dentures. A co-worker took his out for his commute home one evening and just laid them in his lap. Along the way, he experienced some car problem and stopped on the side of the road to check it out. He forgot about the dentures until he heard the crunch when he stepped out of the car!

Out in the train shed yesterday, I once again mainly ran trains. A couple of local switching runs interrupted by some manifest and unit freights passing on the main. I fashioned a new handrail to replace the broken one pictured yesterday, but I only painted it and haven't installed it yet. Otherwise, Live Wire Manufacturing is ready for business. I am still scouting for the best location out of six options. A problem with these DPM Landmark kits is the fact that there is great detailing on all four sides and you have to pick out a viewing angle that shows the most of it. All of my prime spots are already occupied.
Here are the last few shots from the TNMRC layout that are fit to post. Just some random shots.

There's still a few more left to post. I didn't take pictures of some stuff that I already had, maybe I can find them and post them some time.

Todd - This website's speed has always been erratic for me. It's mostly very good, but it bogs down at least once a week.
Jay - Get well soon.
Mike - Yep! News stories don't last long until the next whopper comes along. Remember the drones in Jersey???
Swal - OMG - 13° is way too frigid for spray-painting, especially from a rattle-can.
Tom O - A new car search can be really exasperating. Just went through it ourselves.

Today is the late Hank Aaron's 90th birthday. He passed in 2021.
Everybody have a wonderful Wednesday.

Good afternoon all. Afternoon Tea and Scones please, Flo. Add the extras I am hungry.

Well the doctor's appointment went well. 20+ questions and I left. Our Government want to cut costs in the NHS. Fair enough, but when my hospital doctor said not to reduce my treatment, the local doctor had to let me go.

Ah! I see the Afternoon Tea is ready.

Good morning, all! A foggy morning with a temp of 70. The highs for the last couple of days have broken records and a few more are in jeopardy for the remainder of the week. Yesterday was Costco, today the grocery store.

Trains - I did get to run a few trains yesterday. I have a BLI E7 that I'm going to have to reset the decoder. It is an older Broadway Limited, might be my first DCC loco. It has a reset button on the underside of the decoder. You have to hold your tongue a certain way while trying to push the tiny button you almost can't see and lift and set back down the engine. While I do like the idea of a reset button, they should have put it where one could access it without standing on your head.

The yard at Apple Ridge is full.

I am looking for a strong tea. I have done "English Breakfast tea" and earl grey. They seem a little weak. I am looking for a tea that says "I am Tea". I assume as an Englishperson, you should know your teas.
