And, I organized my magazines. Got them right above my desk. I'd prefer to have them in digital form. With my Trains.com membership, that's how I'm getting MRR for now.

Went and hung out at the mall with my special girl. Well, she went for a walk, and came back with a shopping bag full of discount bargains. I did one walking lap, then sat by the fountain and ended up keeping the shopping bag, so she could finish her walk.

Did this just show up or "actually" show up? I'm not sure I understand the difference..............
 
I worked about 3 hours on my layout yesterday.
I ran six wires to a terminal block and to a turnout controller. After drilling a hole for better wire routing, stripping and tinning wires, drilling holes for screws to hold "loops" for wire routing, adding wire ties for neatness, doing all this either laying on my back or in a sitting on the floor position, that is all that got done.
Three hours to run six wires about five feet.

I have a control panel to mount today for LEDs and toggle switches to operate the three turnouts I did the wiring for yesterday. At the rate I'm moving (and wearing down) I figure about another six hours (two days). Man, I'm sitting the world on fire.
Slow and steady wins the race.................I guess.

And yes, I "actually" did the wiring as opposed to just doing the wiring. Go figure.
 


Good afternoon, all! It's a mostly cloudy day with temps closing in on 80. Ah, but wait, tomorrow's high is 56. I really dislike this time of year. Shorts and tee today, a jacket of sweater tomorrow. Ah, but wait, this coming week lows in the 20's, hard freeze warnings. Where did I leave my parka?
Went to the train show, the first since covid attack. It's a small show but has at least one layout in each scale and plenty of vendors. I spent about 2 hours perusing the different layouts and vendors. My main quest was for laser cut kits but the few I saw were HO which was the most prevalent scale there. Attached, a few random shots and my "haul".

"Just" seems to have a lot of connotations.

Kind of like "Bless their heart"

You can mean the latter nicely or with all the sarcasm that a southern grandmother can muster.

I was thinking more along the time angle for my "just"
Just now vs
Just yesterday evening

a minor thing/occurrence:
She's just a friend
It was a just a little fib

Similarity:
He's just like his father

Or the doozy:
She's just a little pregnant

It's just an overused word that just too many people just love to use.

And then there's what happens when you tack a couple of letters on the end, you can get justly concerned.

I don't know how the fan is configured, or how accessible it is, but I've been able to encourage fans to run for a few days, by adding a couple drops of oil and rotating the fan by hand until it loosens up enough to run.

I did go to the train show this morning. Got there at 9:05, 5 minutes after opening. By 10:30 there was a great crowd, by noon it was very busy. Found nothing I needed to buy. Found 5 of the guys I wanted to meet up with 3 others MIA.

I didn’t take anywhere near the amount of layout pictures as most were returning layouts with not much new. The above 2 pictures are from the Santa Fe All the Way layout. Facebook famous I first saw it at Trainfest in the Milwaukee area. A 2 man operation and it’s huge. The other 2 great layouts were the HO scale Midwest Mod U track and the N scale Modu Track layouts

I am not going back Sunday
 
The fan is seized solid. Tried turning it with a breaker bar. Only bent the squirrel cage blades.
I'll just spend the next few days in the video room then move the space heater to the bedroom at night.
House temp this morning is 58 degrees. Seems to hold heat pretty good for 2,000 square feet.

It's Troy again

Got about an inch of snow here overnight. Looks like most of the storm is to the south of us, and mostly rain. But, we've got to deal with it off and on through the day. So we may get more snow.

The narrator for the audio of my latest book sent me the files. I promised her a list of correction by tonight. So, i'm listening to my book. I do enjoy the audio characterizations she puts in the recording. It's only 8.5 hours to listen to. Good thing I know how it ends. The suspense of the action might get to me! 😜

But, I can't hobby while listening. I do have to read along with the narration, looking for dropped lines or words, misinterpretations of emotions, etc. But she's good. I'll probably get most of the way through it today.
