well, howdy there internet peeps again...

Just returned from the game store, where I swapped out some unneeded knights on horseback, for greenbacks to pay for my new Conrail engine.

When I came home, wife was in her recliner holding an ice pack to her face.

Seems the ice attacked her as she went for a power walk around the neighborhood.

Tomorrow, when she goes to see her mother and sister, they're going to think she got mugged. Wife has a goose egg developing on her right cheek. Sounds like she either pulled muscles in her side, or bruised a rib, and banged up a knee.

I offered to get her a pizza for dinner, so she didn't have to go out in public, but she said she wants to go get meatloaf at the steakhouse.

We'll see. If she feels even worse, or if that bruise forms before dinner, she may decide to go off the whole-30 meal plan, and get pasta from the Italian place. That's her favorite.

I'm sorry to hear of your wife's fall.

Several months ago, my wife fell. She didn't realize she had cracked a rib. That is until we went to the emergency room when she had difficulty breathing. It turned out her lung collapsed because she wasn't breathing deep enough due to the pain.

If your wife has pain when breathing it could be a bruised, cracked, or broken rib and she should be seen by a doctor.

I hope she feels better soon.

Well I made it to the great scale model train show today in Timonium Maryland
Wow extremely large show a lot to see I enjoyed walking around looking at everything.
It will be open for one more day tomorrow Sunday.

Anyways in the general discussions area I posted pictures of the things I picked up at the train show. Some things I was really wanting.

Evening all,

Well, got home after work and then took the oldest grandkid to the train show. He gets in free with his scout uniform and I got bonus spending money as I got a $1 admission as a vet.

This is what I got...

The Accurail kit was the first one I've ever seen for a RR society. I got it for $10. The Kadee 520 wheelsets were $30 for the 7 packages and the 2 packs of N-scale cars were $8.

The wheelsets were from a Train Club that inherited a members stash and they decided to sell at estate sale prices. They had a case of about 100 of them that the member was going to use on his BB models. They were $10 to $12 a package at the retail vendors at the show.

The n-scale cars are the grandsons. He could have gotten other things as well, but didn't really seem to be into it as much this year.

Overall, nothing I needed, but great deals that I couldn't pass up. Wish I had bought more wheelsets, but with the other sets I still have, it will be a while before I can get them used.

Didn't win any Super Bowl tickets. And my socks were clean! 😁

Good Morning All. Happy Ground Hog Day. Clear and 47°, maybe going to 78° today. At least a week of moderate weather ahead, including getting up to 84° tomorrow. Then clouds move in Tuesday and it cools off a bit.

Busy morning yesterday, dishwasher, laundry, trash and compost all had to be dealt with. I also stacked some of the firewood that I had gathered before the rain. I now have about half of next winter's heater wood supply stacked alongside the rest of this season. Plenty more stacked in the yard from the recent lumberjack work. Should be dry enough today to start hauling it again without leaving ruts in the yard. Short day today, as every Sunday is due to church.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued assembly of the DPM kit. I also completed the installation of all of the remaining ground throws that weren't installed when laying the track; except one that I broke the throw arm on. Dang, I'll have to go to the LHS soon. I still have a gift certificate to there that I got for Christmas. But, make a list first!
Some of the paint and assembly pictures from the last few days are in order, as I finally brought the camera in and downloaded them.
A couple of walls after initial painting.

It was then that I realized that I had spent a lot of time painting and touching-up part of a wall that was going to be mostly covered.

The other addition is open, so the time spent there was not wasted...but I haven't added it yet.

Troy - Sorry to read about your wife. Hope that she recovers soon.
Micheal Joe - I wish there was a show around here as big as Timonium. We have our fair share of smaller shows though, but not the national base of manufacturers.
Len -
Believe it or not, I've never owned a pair of cowboy boots.
Interesting that you posted that; I have never owned a pair either and I have lived in Texas since '61.

Everyone have a great Sunday. Support the church of your choice.

Good morning. Happy Sunday. It's also Happy Woodchuck Day. The Pennsylvania Woodchuck saw his shadow so we go by the calendar this year. Regardless, the daylight is with us longer each day, so things are looking up.

I miss driving down to the Timonium show.

After this weekends cold snap, we are supposed to have several days of rain and moderate temperatures this week.
Meanwhile, I have two medical events scheduled for this week.

Good Morning All. Currently 38° and clear skies, headed up to 69° again today. No rain (or snow) in the ten day forecast.

Once again, my day today starts with the dishwasher. I'll run a load of laundry while I'm at it. I'm still under the direct sunlight restriction for my skin treatment, but I will fudge a bit with a broad-brimmed hat to take advantage of the weather. It's the second to last day anyway, so what the heck.

I did a bunch more work on the structure build out in the train shed yesterday. I once again left the camera outside. I'm getting forgetful since my birthday! Ground throw project is on stand-by; just 8 left to go.
One of the treats this time at the TNMRC layout on the day that I visited, was that a member opened up one of the operating pits nestled deep within the layout. There is a secondary staging yard in there, but most of all, it gives several different views of some of the layout areas. These first few are from the backside of their extensive downtown that I showed from the other side last week.

Then there is a small town scene that is visible from the aisle quite afar from your viewing point. Here it is from inside.

Patrick - We had the same Kroger egg sale here when I went Thursday. I specifically looked after Tom O posted what he saw in Wisconsin. They're still too expensive. Same eggs were under a dollar 4 years ago.
Len - Good news regarding the safe trip.
Lee - I have been intrigued by that terrace on the roof of that restaurant on the TNMRC layout ever since I first saw it. Seriously thinking of copying it in the future. I already have the same structure and I modeled a restaurant on the second floor.

Everyone have a good Saturday.
I was told this morning that while I am on a soda run to buy eggs. She needs 3 dozen and the ad claims they are at $4.69 a dozen. I also need gas that they figured on local TV last night that it would be $.20 per gallon higher than Friday. It is what it is…
