Good morning from I remember the Beatles So. Central Wisconsin but not their most popular songs. I mentioned it before here, they were the 1st group I saw in person as a 12 year old in Chicago. I was unimpressed but learned to love them later

Weather here today will be clear, dry and with reduced winds. It is 33f degrees now heading to 56.

Yesterday’s hockey was wins all around. The grandson played 3, I went to 1, Terry saw all 3. They won all 3 and in the 3 games he scored 7 times. His season ends with the 4pm game this afternoon. On campus #2 Wisconsin women just overwhelmed #1 Ohio State to win 4-2. A very fast paced game and the Badger goalie, a freshman played outstanding. With conference playoffs starting Friday Coach has a decision, keep splitting turns in net with 2 very good goalies or let the Freshman come into her own and take over the nets. I will ask him Monday night at dinner. I think for conference he’ll continue the split, for the NCAA’s he will pick one.

Maybe 2 hours at the weathering bench yesterday. 80 reefers, 18 center beams and 4 covered hoppers 2 bays are ready for the next steps. They all have the initial clear coat and the center beams are faded. The 2 bay hoppers if I go to the bench will get done today.

enjoy the day

Good Morning!
I'm on the run, with only time for half a cup. Gotta get the dog walked, so she can be ready to go visit her brother for the day.
I'll make more progress on this building later in the day:

I'd like to get the roof completed, at least. I've decided to glue it on, as the dormer hip roof just to complicated to work on unglued. It is what it is!

Gotta go! Have a wonderful day!

My favorite, post WW2 steam loco was the Reading Company's T-1 4-8-4. At least four are preserved, and at least one is still running.
Beautiful beast and there is about to another running, i believe the former "Freedom Train" unit. I really like the Reading G3, too bad the city of Reading fathers refused to get one when Reading Company offered one to be put on display.

That was the derailment in Great Dismal Swamp around 1987 or so, and resulted in the 40mph speed limit on steam. The one that seriously damaged the engine itself was in the mid-1950s, from speeding in a curve.
I did not know about this one. That explains it why the N&W J will not run on former Pennsy main line to get to Paradise, even though it's just a capable as the Diesel to pull a consist at speed there.

Before I came out of hospital the doctor said "To prevent boredom at home finish off things around the house you have started"

Good advice I thought.

I finished off the Merlot, then the Chardonnay. Followed that with the Pinot Grigio and the Cava.
The Bells was next then the Jash Dannyels, Baylish, Bac-- Bacardi, Shevas Regal, the Jin. Finallly the Shhhmirrrr------_____

Good Morning All. It's clear and 55° out there at 0730. Off to a late start this morning since I didn't get home from the wedding until past midnight. Mid-80's today and Tuesday, low-90's tomorrow. Back to normal on Wednesday; rain possible near the end of the 10 day forecast, but that's looking awfully far out for the NWS.

As posted, I went to my niece's wedding last night. I had mixed feelings. This was my first adventure into a same-sex marriage which I have no problem with. It was pretty much the same as a hetero marriage ceremony except there were two brides! Lots of relatives and old friends including my out of state sister and her husband who we don't see real often. Food and open bar at the reception was great, but the music the whole night sucked big time. The only good song was the one that my brother picked out for his dance with his daughter. A good time was had by all though. She is the last of the second generation to get married (16 of them), except a nephew with Asperger's Syndrome who will never have a relationship.

Yesterday was not all together lost, I picked up the weed-whacking where I left off Friday, and I planted a partial row of Spinach in the garden for staggered harvest. After the full moon last night, it is time for root veggies again as the moon is waning. Although my wife said not to plant Carrots, I may plant some anyway. I didn't plant a great amount last year, but surprisingly there are two still left in the vegetable drawer in the fridge. She claims that mine taste "earthy"; probably because I grow them in clay soil instead of sandy soil. I have to deal with the hand that the Good Lord dealt me. No real plans out there today except watch things grow. I do need to water some of the transplants though.

No train shed yesterday, but I hope to make up for it today and tomorrow. Here are a few random vehicles on the layout.

Mac - In that picture of the semaphore on the WK&S, is the couch there for train watching, or is it just someone's dumping ground as Guy alluded to?
David - I also know that I have enough rolling stock, but that hasn't prevented me from purchasing 4-freight cars and 5-cabooses in the last two years!
Joe - I wasn't aware of that Medicare penalty regarding timely sign-up until it was almost too late. My wife stayed on my company insurance until I retired, even though she turned 65 while I was only 63, since she wasn't drawing SS and didn't want the premium hitting our bottom line. Fortunately at the time, there was no penalty if you signed up any time during your 65th year, so we slid by on that one. We actually had little choice about it since the COBRA payment for both of us on the company insurance was outrageous, and more than twice what we ended up with when she switched to Medicare and I remained on COBRA.
Patrick - My experience is the same as Alan's, stay the hell away from Medicare Advantage! It may be right for some, but it exists mainly to make money for insurance companies.
Louis - I had not heard the Godhead version of "Eleanor Rigby" before. That falls into the obscure to me category.
Swal - As I posted a couple of weeks ago, "Best of", and "Most Covered" are very subjective. Do either include instrumentals like Wes Montgomery, Al Hirt, Vince Guaraldi or Booker T & the MG's???

Today would have been George Harrison's 81st birthday. Regarding Rock & Roll birthdays, I missed one yesterday, late UK session player Nicky Hopkins would also have been 81. If you're not familiar with his work, he played on many early Kinks, Rolling Stones, Who, Donovan, and Beatles albums among many others. He was also a member at times of Steve Miller Band, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Jefferson Airplane, who he played with at Woodstock.

Everyone have a great Sunday.

Let me guess, the mesh tape is showing up after sanding, and you have to make extra thick layer of Sheetrock patch😉.
No, it covers just fine. Mesh tape is very flexible and the joints will crack when using the pre-mixed “mud”. You are suppose to use “hot mud” aka Dura-bond or a similar product. That stuff is a mess to mix and miserable to sand. I have a big enough mess already!😂

Bob when I started taping the drywall on the new kitchen walls I installed I realized sanding every time I added a coat was not an option. Too much dust. I started using Durawall 45 and learned how to apply a coat without any after sanding.
Swal
Yep. Watch a lot of videos last night. One pro mentioned “Durabond”, might have been Durawall too.
I’m trying to sand as little as possible . My air handler in the basement has a return on it. So when I sand I have to shut her down.

a nephew with Asperger's Syndrome who will never have a relationship.
My niece married a man with Asperger's Syndrome. He is a wonderful husband and an even better father. I suppose every case is different.
Louis - I had not heard the Godhead version of "Eleanor Rigby" before. That falls into the obscure to me category.
I first heard/saw that on MTV-X That channel played a lot of great, but obscure music!

Good morning, all! We are headed for a warm day with predictions in the mid 80's. The humidity is returning. A few more days of this and all the flora will think it's time grow.

Willie - Glad to see you brought up instrumentals. I use a thumb drive in my truck, and it has nary a singer on it. If you can check out "Cruising" by the Duals. It was the "B" side to "Stick Shift".
Guy - some nice progress on the station.
David - You left a wee bit of Jameson.
Boris & Swal - great insight to train operations. Swal, really a 75 year old engineer.

After watching this guys work, I will not complain about N scale stairs.

STAY SAFE
LATER
