Good evening, it's 55 and clear.
I survived my first day of w*rk. I'm pretty concerned about the half dozen apps I was required to download to my phone, and give keys to the kingdom to. Among other things, it tells anybody that has access to its parent to see exactly where I am, and what I'm doing, whether walking, staying in one place, what other apps I may be using and when, any websites visited by all browsers on my phone "at any time", read my messages and email, and access the camera and microphone. All this is a requirement of my continued employment there. You'd think I had the keys to Fort Knox in my pocket, rather than fixing RVs.
I asked "what happens if somebody doesn't have a cell phone?"
Answer: They can't work here.

Evening all,

I am one of those lucky public servants that had the day off...finished up the newly painted room and then got most of the second bedroom cleared out. I wasn't looking forward to painting the closet in the second bedroom and it was the daughter who painted it 10 years ago. The closet shelving turned out to be held in place with about 2 dozen screws. A closet that was going to take me 45 minutes to paint is now down to about 15.

I need to get the walls spackled and sanded and ready for paint. Might be painting again this weekend. I am getting close to having it done.

Temu is a good place to get your card information hacked and most of the stuff is crap.

Swal: The masking crap isn't a NY only thing. They had the protocol in place at the care home my mom is in. They lifted it and I went to visit, 2 days later they re-instated the masking. I know if you get her on Medicaid in New York, you'll have to start over again in another state.

Are they going to pay for this phone, since it sounds now like its a work phone?

Id be going tonight and getting a new phone from a different carrier. Use this one for just work, and leave it on my tool box all day, and only use it for work purposes.

Wonder what the legality is on this?

I'm heading out Friday after work, and getting a phone. My current phone is pretty nice, an iPhone 14 Pro.
It's probably not too legal, but if you agree to it, it's binding--at least in this state.
I'm going to get everything set up, then "accidentally" not reinstall all the apps not required for my job, such as the app that is also a time clock, when I have to wipe and reinstall my OS...
I'm probably a little overreacting, but for anybody that reads what's in those TOS agreements....

Good evening y'all.
So, yesterday afternoon, I get this call from area code 412, caller ID labled it as the CDC survey. I did not answer. The message sounded like a radio announcer from an era past, and instructed me to call a number in Georgia. Erase message. Then I looked up the CDC Survey, its legitimate, a data collection survey conducted by a government contractor under the auspices of the CDC. Three hours later, the phone rings again, I ignore it.
today at 2020, They called again. persistent little creepazoids...probably get paid by the call. I just refused the call. According to the google page, they are trying to get a handle on how many people got the various immunizations this year... I got them all, but that's not any of their business.

When anybody ask if I've had all my shots, I tell them, NO! I still need to get my distemper, kennel cough and rabies shots before I'm completely vaccinated! I also tell them not to get too close as I may bite!

M
I have one, but it's too old for their app to work on.
My last employer issued me a company cell phone and was told it was for business use only.
So I carried my personal cell phone at all times and turned on their phone when I left for work
and shut it off when I got home. About 6 months later they decided that us not "higher ups"
really didn't need cell phones. (They were trying to cut costs). I happily turned in the company
phone and declined to give them the number to my personal cell phone. Lived happily ever
after.

Oh that is just bovine excrement! 🐄💩 Who are you going to work for, George Orwell?

In all seriousness, that's what the company logo looks like.

Earlier today, someone in another venue made reference to a "new class of indentured servant". What you just described, proves that person's point.
It reminds me of the old railroad rule, General Rule E, concerning conduct while on duty. Of course back then, they didn't have electronics to enforce Orwellian edicts. No wonder that these firms have a high turnover rate.

Well it’s been awhile since I’ve posted here. It’s been just to cold in the garage for some train time so I’ve been busy doing other stuff. Hope to get some rail post soon glad everyone is doing great and still Railroading.

It's not the masking Patrick. They will not let anyone in to entertain. They say it's because of the Covid 19 restrictions. Back when I was doing magic and going to magic classes a classmate of mine Jeff McBride did a mask trick where he kept on removing masks just to find out he had another mask on for about 10 masks. He may have a video I'll take a look.

I'm up early because I have to finish copying all the W2 forms etc our lawyer needs to apply for my wife's Medicaid application.
I think she over by $2,137.51 of the allowed amount of $30,000.00 of income. On the $30,000.00 asset side she's under the amount by $6,827.66 that includes everything bank accounts, life insurance cash in value, the car etc. I guess it's a good thing I put $80,000.00 into the house in the last few years, new everything otherwise they be taking that money. The house is exempt. I'll know today but I think the income side of $32,137.51 is gone. They'll start taking that money next month.
