Good morning! Or should say afternoon. 34 degrees and a foot of ssnow here in PA. Tried to work with the trains on the basement floor and I just can't do it. Too used and abused. Going to have to get a sheet of plywood and put it on milk crates. Then I can sit on my little painters bench and work easily. I opened up one box of goodies and everything had a whitish stuff on everything, trains tracks, buildings and scenery. Any sugestions? I have dowels to clean the rails, but what about everything nelse. And oiling the trains? What is best to use and where do I use oil? I Ordered the suggested book and it will be here tomorrow. Can't wait. I'm doing a lot of reading here.
Hope all have a good day. Cheri
Put your board on sawhorses.
I'd wipe items down with a rag and WD-40.
Totally a fan of Marvel Mystery Oil for lubrication.
Like Brylcreem, just a dab will do you.

MRI: The enclosure doesn't bother me, it's the noise the damned thing makes...drowns out the smooth jazz coming from the earphones they give you...
Since the Aortic Valve Surgery, MRI's are verboten. So, I'm reduced to CT Scans.

Alan: Sorry to hear that that thing has returned... Follow your advice to Sherrel. As Tom says Trust Modern medicine....they do wonderful things that were not thought of when we were young. You are also in My Thoughts and Prayers.
Thanks Boris, but I'm not worried. I was a stage 4 kidney cancer patient. They told me twice I wasn't going to make it, but here I am. I'm like the black knight in Monty Python. "I've had worse!"

Yep, at our age kneeling on the floor is just bad news, we're just not as supple as we once were.

White stuff on everything ?could simply be some kind of mould if it's been stored somewhere damp, clean it off with a rag and some 99% IPA (Isopropanol Alcohol) and see what's underneath first.

I suggest you start your own thread on the forum for this, makes it a little easier to follow your progress and offer advice.

Post some fotos of the track when you've cleaned it also your locomotives and cars, so we can help you service them.

Good evening. It's partly cloudy and 70.
I just once again experienced the downside of 2FA. I was recently forced to upgrade to 2FA for an account I have. The company, now that they know they have a "live" number, immediately started spamming me with robocalls. I'd say it was about 30 minutes between enabling 2FA and the beginning of the call blitz.

Not sure I'd want an account at a company that robocalls you.

I'm sure permission to annoy the heck outta you was burried in their TOS somewhere. Now to find the opt-out methodology.

Good evening y'all.
So, yesterday afternoon, I get this call from area code 412, caller ID labled it as the CDC survey. I did not answer. The message sounded like a radio announcer from an era past, and instructed me to call a number in Georgia. Erase message. Then I looked up the CDC Survey, its legitimate, a data collection survey conducted by a government contractor under the auspices of the CDC. Three hours later, the phone rings again, I ignore it.
today at 2020, They called again. persistent little creepazoids...probably get paid by the call. I just refused the call. According to the google page, they are trying to get a handle on how many people got the various immunizations this year... I got them all, but that's not any of their business.

I'm not even sure they are really looking for me. I have a Rahway Phone Number, so they could be looking for data among people iving in the City of Rahway, or close in Union County. Probably a different demographic than what we have here at the Shore. Then again, my number is on quite a few data bases, as I've had it since about 2000. So they might be looking to talk to me... Either way, I'm not talking. I'd block the line, but they would just use another number...see if they call tomorrow.

Currently, it's 34° and partly cloudy. going to 30°. Tomorrow, will be sunny and 42°...this is where it gets sticky, tomorrow night, it's supposed to be 29° with snow overnight through 10 AM Saturday...1" to 3". Of course, being its Saturday, with nothing to close, there is no crisis either.

We finished the stuffed peppers tonight. Now that's a value meal. Tasted great, in spite of everything being low sodium...

I still can't get used to being called skinny or skin and bones...I was always "Fats" or "chunky". I started a new exercise regimen tonight, designed to improve my balance. Hope this one works better than the last.
