Tom what's going on in FL. I wintered there for 2 years a while ago and it was 75 every day. That was in a town a few miles down for West Plam, Boynton Beach.

SWAL,

I know Terry already answered. He lives here so see his response On weather patterns.

We are playing just south of Jacksonville at TPC Sawgrass and it’s a beautiful course/courses and 50’s and 60’s do feel good to this Wisconsinite. But the majority of this group of 60 playing are from warm weather states. Hawaii, California, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. 3 of us are full time Wisconsinites. The others think 60’s are terrible and while I played in shorts and a polo yesterday a lot of the Crew were bundled up. There are even some wearing their rain gear. It’s been easy pickings the last 2 days for us 3 from Wisconsin. The wind is up today and we haven’t reached 60. I am bundled up today (this wind is nasty)but I have won enough to pay for the trip.

Got my first 9 in with 18 more coming up at 2pm

Good afternoon All!!!
WoW Flo! New work outfit? I like it!!! :)
When you stop smirking at me, I'd like the one pound "Bomber" meatball off the lunch menu please.
Extra sauce and bread on the side with a large Coke.
There's something else new with you, give me a minute. I'll figure it out.

While I watched more NFL this season then combined the last 5 years,
Keep an eye on the Packers next season. That young quarterback and his corps of receivers are something special. The old "black and blue" division is going to be a real battle for the 2024 division title.
I always hated the farce of all star games, except baseball. Have not watched any all star game though since a game in baseball game Chicago in 2003 per Wikipedia.
I loved the MLB All Star game! When I was a boy, I ran home to watch it. I still enjoy the game, but it is not the same. A perfect example for me was Kris Bryant of the Cubs starting at third base ducking out of the way of a blistered bounding ball. He should have gotten in front of it to block it with his body.
At least the winning division in the baseball All Star game gets rewarded with being the home division in the World Series.
That was a great idea!

Afternoon All,

Started out the day with temps in the 50's. I spent most the morning doing chores. In the train room I built an roof sign and masked the non-brick portions of the hydrocal walls. I probably won't be able to start until the weekend due to my schedule through Friday. Tomorrow I'm headed up to see my buddy Jon and pick up my painted flat cars. Thursday is a funeral and Friday is the dentist.:(

Troy- It's always something.

Smudge- Interesting video.

Terry- Not a bad idea in FL.

Sherrel- I hope you and yours remain dry with no flooding.

Joe- I'm sorry to hear about your buddy and hope he heals without deficits.

Mike- I don't remember that brand or commercials.

Bill- Have your recent photos been of the same steamer in different locations?

Willie- Nice layout scenes.

TomO- Good luck with your knee.

Swal- We're just having the typical temp roller coaster we get in the winter. Couple of days cool/cold followed by several warm days, Repeat.

David- I hope your cough is something minor and enjoy your family time.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Gas up another 10 cents. A few weeks ago walmart was $2.28 and everyone else was $2.42 -$2.5xx. Now Walmart is $2.59 and everyone else is $2.89 or thereabouts.

Been rainy off and on te last few days. Sinday was nicer. its 50F today though which is a big warmer. Don't know if it rained yet but its been overcast and looking like rain. It may have. Not been out yet and I don't have a gauge.

Since last Friday evbening been working on painting what I can internally. I have my nephew-in-laws Graco Magnum X7 airless and I also purchased a chinese airless feorm Amazon cheap as a second sprayer for when I get some help coming down. Been spraing drywall sealer/primer. Spraying two coats and then will power roll a single "one coat" premium paint on top.

So far have 2 coats of primer everywhere I've painted, which is the entry hall, parlor, entry toilet room, under the overhang in the kitchen, the pantry, the mud room, and the 2 walk in closets in the master bedroom. Also around the top of the stairs and the main room side of where the entry hall is. I also have a single coat on the first 8-9' of wall plus up the stairs in the main room and a piece of the main hallway outside the bedrooms.

Last night I also sprayed final ceiling paint in the two walk in clostsl, entry hall, parlor, toilet room, overhang, mudroom, pantry. My mom is comiung to help this afternoon to roll final paint while I do more sealer-primer application. Have to go buy more at Home Depot.

I started using a Glidden PVA sealer primer but switched to the Killz PVA sealer/primer. It was $1 more per gallon but the reviews online were much better. For the ceiling final paint we're using the Behr Premium+ Ultra White and for the main walls were using Behr Marquee (in onr of their "one coat" colors over well and solid primed surface using power roller so heavier than typical spray without need to back roll). The Behr Marquee is not cheap but seems to be relaly good and if I can really get away with just one power rolled coat it will save time and paint. We'll see how it works.

Talked to a pro painter (wife's work buddy's husband) and they spray and backroll and put two coats on (after a single primer coat) but the paint they use is a cheap paint he said. Primer is cheap so I use two coats to get a good solid and sealed surface and hopefully just one coat of the better quality, better coverage paint and just the power roller. I have a power roller attachment for the airless sprayer and a second Wagner power roller for when we have multiple people.

Thes epics were before second coats and before ceiling paint went on.

Welp... howdy there internet peeps. And those who didn't almost get crushed on the drive home.

Wife and I headed out to pizza for dinner. On the way home, we turned right off the big road (2 lanes each way) onto the small road 2 lanes total.

This is a tricky area. If you're making a LEFT to get on the small road, there are TWO turns lanes to left turn onto small road. Left most one is ONLY to make a almost immediate left into an office park/Apartment area. We had turned right onto small road, and were in the right lane to go on straight.

There was a cream colored SUV in the median at the force you to go left into the office park area. Figured someone had gotten into the wrong lane and was trying to get back headed south like we were.

One red car behind me coming up fast so I didn't slam on the breaks to let the SUV out. I had right of way.

Yep! The SUV driver tried to merge into me from the median area. I swerve, barely missing a utility pole, but made it past him. Red car behind me slammed on his breaks.

No crunch. Red car had come to a stop, so SUV gunned it and finally got rolling in front of red car. Then raced up behind me and flipped me off several times.

Woman next to him started mouthing off to him. I suspect she was grumping about his driving.

SUV stayed on my bumper until I turned into our complex. I'm sure he was flying the finger of fickle friendship as he gunned it past me to continue on.

Here's a pic of "the pit of despair" for another of the articles I'm writing on gamer burnout.

In other news, tomorrow is a pain in the butt medical day.

Just found out my mother is at the hospital with chest pains. Said she wasn't getting enough oxygen. I suspect a blood clot. My sis is with her, waiting on word.

Tomorrow, Sis In Law goes in for a scan of her kidney. She's got a blockage and it's not releasing fluid like it should.

But, my wife is scheduled to drive SIL's roommate (basically, their honorary sister) 2.5 hours down to Indianapolis for CT scans on her liver. Roomie is now on the Liver Transplant list. She needs someone to go with since she can never remember the medical terms and "conveniently forgets" anything she doesn't want to hear that the Docs have told her.

Wife is taking our car (we have only one). I'll have the roomie's car. And SIL is driving herself to her appointments.

When it rains, it pours.

I have been working on the Scott Shipping background building. I hope to have both ends attached by the weekend, when the temperatures outside will be warm enough to paint it.

I placed it on the layout today, and it fits, although I may have to nudge the siding a tad to insure proper side clearance.

That's going to be a great structure!

I like how the building makes 4 boxcars look almost small. I think you nailed the perfect proportion.

This works for me:
I get Hall's or Ludens sugar-free cough drops. Don't know if they have them over there, but I'm sure there are equivalents.

Then, I put one into my cheek at bedtime. Just let it sit there.

It calms the cough, and -- believe it or not -- lasts all night.
The secret is just letting it sit there in between your cheek and lower jaw.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those still awake, or getting up late.

It's Troy again.

Woke up for the o-dark-thirty potty run, and the brain didn't want to go back to sleep. So, it's down to the recliner. That usually gets me sleepy again.

Update on mom. Hospital didn't see blood clot in the lungs. They think she's retaining too much fluid. Her legs are swollen and have been for a while. They put her on an IV diuretic and kept her overnight. We'll see if they want to keep her beyond that.

OK, the cat says it's time to try sleep again. Type at you later.
