Here's what I started with.
Here's one in the middle of repair with sanding, glue scraping and applications of Testor's Body Putty. Some of the gray blotches were where I sanded off glue blotches.
I eventually picked out the best sides to face forward.
They're not perfect, but acceptable.
HOWEVER, SANTA FE DID HAVE A STEAMER THEY CALLED A "BULL MOOSE".

Francine - large coffee, biscuits and gravy - large bowl this morning with a side of bacon, PATY!
I got the wood at a building materials auction a few years ago for the layout. Got a whole hack for 53 cents a board. The same #1 board sells for close to $8.50
now!

Good morning from my part of Wisconsin. In the mid 30’s now heading to the high 40’s.
Today’s schedule was: the grandson’s hockey game at 8, train show after 10am then picked up at 1 for a hockey game on campus. Around 5 dinner is still planned with the daughter’s family. The train purchasing yesterday was barely nothing. I am not 100% sure I will go to the train show today. I had planned to see the layouts but I got in before the public show yesterday and saw them without the crowds.
Slept in my chair in the cave from about 9 to 11 last night. Up at 4:45am but not awake enough to do anything in the train room. This maybe a lonnnnng day

Anyway:
1. Dishwasher top rack underneath water spinner fell off. I loaded the dishes and started it so I know it was not hitting anything. Hmmm, thought I, and snapped it back on and did a short cycle to see what happens. Yup, did it again. Looks like the little plastic locks that hold the spinner to the rack are pretty worn. This is a Kenmore new 2 years ago. We do not do THAT many dishes; heck not even once a day. JB Weld to the rescue. Has been curing overnight and will give it a go in a bit.
2. Dell T7500 workstation was to get an updated OS. Load would start, then die after a few minutes. Tested media, then CD drive, then memory. None were at fault. This was a working unit and had been for at least 5 years. Have it's sister on a desk beside it which is an exact duplicate sans it has Windoz 10 on it. Noticed that the bios was rev 09 on the 'bad' box. Geesh, I usually keep up on that. So this morning I will Rufus the bios update on to a USB dongle; boot and load it to see if that was the problem. ( Latest and greatest bios is rev 17 ).
3. New ( to me ) Dell T5500 for railroad stuff got a Fedora 36 Server load last week. Screen was kinda screwing up then. Fedora did a Kernel update day before yesterday and the desktop screen really went wonko went I went to do some stuff on it yesterday. Was not locking up the system as I could CTL ALT F4 into a terminal screen, and I could also VNC in and it would work fine. Got to thinking about it this morning and decided that because the T5500 was destined for another Windoz load I put in a Nvidia video card. Nvidia has propriatery software and does not share with the world, so nobody can write Linux drivers for it. I haven't checked lately so that statement might be incorrect. There are work arounds and hoop jumps, but it is easier to swap with an Ati card. Will see later.
4. Got 2 NIB Netgear N900 Gig wifi AP's. According to the what you might call a manual, the password to get in and configure it was 'asdfgjkllopqwerti345fsdk'. What? Tried it 3 times and I know that last time I did not fat finger anything. This morning I was looking at the router and found what I know as a 'normal' login and password on a case sticker - factory defaults for Netgear have always been 'admin' and 'password'. Yup, that worked so on to configuration.
5. How about that? No #5
All of the above are probably pretty petty in nature, but they do take time to deal with. Well, y'all can see what I am doing today; at least part of it. Then I can get to FreeCAD and draw something useful to cut on the little laser to get that dialed in for power/speed vs material. Have 2 thicknesses I need to deal with, Ties and support for shelves. Fun, Fun!

Good Morning All. clear and 41°, but like yesterday, it is supposed to cloud up rapidly and stay that way all day. But the high temperature should reach 70°. That same southwest wind is still with us at 15 mph and will persist at least until Thursday. Temperature tomorrow and Tuesday in the mid-80's despite the cloud cover. SW winds here tend to be dry, so even with the clouds the humidity won't get high.
Honey-do list occupied a lot of my time yesterday. OK, because I haven't had one since before Christmas, and it wasn't exactly a pleasant atmosphere outside with the wind and clouds. Although I did get the last load of wood chips from 2018 moved to the garden for some exercise. They come to me courtesy of the tree pruning contractor that the power company contracts with every few years. There are three more piles near "the back 40" aging for the next round. The 2021 pile from my own tree that was removed, and two from 2022 from the tree pruners. All are sufficiently aged by now.
Out in the train shed, I finished up the fermentation tanks. Attached the remaining two with Walther's Goo, and used Gorilla Super Glue to attach the piping and walkways. painted the base a concrete color and added some detail part that I don't know what it does.
The final setting.
Onward to the cooling tower and ground cover.
Ray - Good to see you make another post. Seems like it's been a while. You need to stick around this time.
Tom O - Your grandson's hockey game at 0800 is interesting. Around here, on Sunday, absolutely no kid sports or other kid's activities start until after 1200 on Sundays. Obviously cultural differences in our two states.
Sherrel - I have no Bull Moose on my layout! Of course I have no steamers at all.
Karl - First thing that I spotted was your beer fridge. Looks good, as does the benchwork and storage boxes. My fridge will hold 24 bottles of brew,, 6 cans of Sugar-Free A&W Root Beer and a half gallon water jug.
Snowman - I see that you're back. How's your mom?
Today is the 78th anniversary of Iwo Jima Day. It is also Smokey Robinson's 83rd birthday.

That is interesting WILLIE. Back when both our kids played there were often hockey games on Saturday and Sunday that started at 7AM. Those weren’t bad if they were home games. The tough ones were 90 minutes or more traveling to get to. The son’s PeeWee team which would have been 11 and 12 years olds practiced at 5:30AM 2 days a week, showered and walked over to the school around 7:15. His Bantam teams 13-14 year olds practiced at 8PM twice a week. His high school team was at 5:30PM daily. Hockey players and families need to be a hardy bunch.

The fermentation tank, details and complex look good. Those 4 tanks in the kit form I saw yesterday at the train show in Madison $68.00. The water cooling tower was $79. Interesting pricing for old stock in the box.

Actually there IS a #5. My favorite beer Kokanie is now brewed for the USofA in St Louis and not considered an Import. Tastes different and has less Alcohol by volume. Lucky for me that Kelowna BC is not far North of us so a day trip may be in order. No clue yet of what I can bring back. Still have Lablats and Molson which are good also and available as Imports here.

I used a couple of sheets of Evergreen styrene, 0.080" thick, butted together. Plastic signs available at big box stores like "For Sale" or "Garage Sale" could also be used, but I didn't have enough to piece together.

I got those tanks from a fellow forum member who had gotten them from another guy. I was warned that they weren't in good shape, but from the picture that I saw, I knew that I could fix them. I hadn't been able to find them elsewhere on the Internet at the time, and the price was right.

Grandson scored his team’s second goal but they couldn’t hang on. 2-2 tie in a well played youth game.
I am not going to the train show. I have 3-4 guys coming over to look at some paper mill kits and Merchant row kits I have and some rolling stock. Better pricing here then the train show on modern freight cars. Told them we leave at 12:45 even in the middle of a sale.
I spent the grandson’s game in the heated mezzanine as I can’t seem to shake the chills. This getting older and the slow recoveries from colds is not fun.
