YES - I think you may be correct - I thought it would come on pretty quick after pluggin the chRGER, BUT IT TOOK A LONG TIME?
Smart devices with lithium-ion batteries can take hours to begin charging if they are completely discharged. The older they are the longer they can take. Even new devices can take an extended time (5-15 minutes) to begin charging if they are completely discharged.

Don't ask me why because I don't know. All I know is I have too many devices scattered all over the house and they are often completely discharged when I want to use one.

As I like to say, "technology is great, when it works!"
Southwest airlines and others would agree with me.

Good afternoon gang!

Got up, got showered and went to get a haircut, then the 1 hour each way commute to the not so local LHS, stopped for lunch and actually made it home by 12:30! Picked up some modeling supplies , some turnouts and a Sylvan firetruck kit. I hope to get caught up on the benchwork construction soon. The spline sub roadbed will have to wait until the temps get better and I can corral one of the boys to assist me in ripping 3 sheets of underlayment into 1 inch wide strips.

Trees. Lots of talk lately. One of my favorite methods is making trees from Sugarbush/Candytuft/Sesame bloom from WoodCreek Dried Inc. I secure the bundles with florist tape, coat the trunks with caulk, when finish with acrylics. I really like the leaf detail. This is just for foreground trees. Too much $$$ to do a forest of them!

Afternoon All,

Started out here in the 40's again and it's currently 68F. This morning I had a bunch of small chores before heading to the train room. I finished the brake piping. Of course, it isn't strictly prototypical but it's good enough for me. After lunch I built the 2 doorsteps (for sides of car) they are resin with brass supports. They won't be attached until after painting. To finish up I made the smoke jack. All in all, a good modeling day. Probably no train room time tomorrow or Monday. It looks like all I have left to build are the 6 ladders...not looking forward to those.

Gary- Beautiful building. If I remember correctly, it was damaged or knocked down from the harbor explosion?

Joe- Nice 1:1 photo.

Willie- Nice looking progress on your build.

I hope everyone has a good night.

I've received the 3 GATX Tank Car's from TomO this morning, and they look great, I was going to take a photo for the RPO thread but I'm a little low on space at the minute.

I'm trying to build the Heljan Grain Elevator, but although it's not very complicated, it's a real PIA as there are not even a exploded view for it, well there is, but not very helpful, I've spotted three pieces that aren't even on this plan so at the moment all is on hold, I need to fabricate a floor for the loading bay, so waiting on glue to dry, may do some more tonight, or maybe not.

Today I went to the Mad City Train Show in Madison WI. Me and my feeble mind only brought $50, but boy did I spend it well!

For $50, I got a Proto 2000 Southern Railway E7 with mars light and a Western Pacific (UP) Hopper car by I think Accurail. At first the E Unit did not run well, it was pretty slow and was making a metal grinding sound. With just a few drops of oil to the bearings and gears it runs great.

I hope everyone is having a great evening!

Good evening gang!

Been a busy beaver today! East staging yard benchwork has been erected! In is also is storage shelves and drawers for rolling stock storage.
See when I was in the modular club, the preferred method of moving trains from home to show and back again was Spring Mills Depot boxes. So now I have 16 boxes and 3 tote bags with 95% of my rolling stock inside. Now They all can be stored at the staging yard, and can be accessed easily. All I need to do now is install a hard deck on top and lay the yard out, then connect to the main layout benchwork.

Yes, that is a mini (beer) fridge in the middle of the benchwork. Man has to respect his priorities!

MILW, That's a sharp looking E-unit!

Smudge, holy exploded views Batman! What step is step 1??

Speaking of cold ones in the fridge, I'm on my second!

Nice storage shelves! I need to figure out something for my rolling stock and locomotives as under layout storage. 🤔

Good evening. 34° and clear. Tomorrow, the temperatures will return to the low 50s. Returned to walking today, a little more than a half mile on one of the trails at the reservoir.

Pet gripe: was over at Home Depot this morning. Yeah, Saturday morning is a busy time at a home center. Yet they had the whole row of cleaning supplies closed off...I did not see anyone working there either...Can't buy it if ya can't access it...
